We have a thread for interviews we've received and a thread for rejections. How about a thread for programs for which we're waiting on invitations with crossed fingers and baited breath?

It may not be much now, but it may help out in a month or two when someone is debating whether or not to drop an interview and they can see a few fellow applicants who want that spot

Sure - I'll play along. I would consider going to these programs if offered:
emory, northwestern, univ. illinois chicago, bid, mgh, duke, u. penn. UIC is the big one I am hoping for right now.

Hey, I was wondering what's the average number of interviews you guys get
during the season, how many of them you are willing to go, and how many of them you cancel... just to get an idea..
Lets say if you already have 10+ then you get one from the places you would really like to go, would you cancel one of the ones you already have in order to go to the new one?
Just been curious..

I have gotten 15 of that 5 I canceled and 10 which I really like I scheduled. I would like at least a couple of the list I posted above so 12. Honestly at this point I would really prefer an advanced program.

Although Im 12 anesthesia invites in...still waiting to hear from UPENNNNN....lol.

in terms of the number of invites i will schedule--> ultimately interview at -->and then rank....out of the 27 anesthesia applications, I want to interview at 16 and I eventually want to rank 13 (I know 10 is the lucky number...so 13 must be luckier) Of the interviews I have right now, Im only willing to possiby cancel 3 of them, but that is only if I hear back from the schools im really interested in and not moderately interested in.

I too was waiting for the longest time for UPenn as well despite getting a good number of other interviews. I had only 2 letters submitted and was waiting on my chairman's letter. Last week, I decided that I'd rather have a completed application and used my backup letter. A couple of days later, I got an invite. Maybe they only offer to completed applications? I hope this helps...

nice touch. makes me wonder if its worthwhile to put your SDN screen name on your CV . . . ?? (which would require going back and deleting all those past inflammatory posts . . . if one had them in the past, that is)

Waiting on word from UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, MUSC, UVa, and Wash U. Seems as if most of 'em have already started sending out invites...👎

Guess I can't complain too much, though, I've been pleasantly surprised at the number of invites I've received to date...

last year someone commented on the lack of a flood of invites/rejections following nov. first -- hoping its not anti-climatic or full of rejections.
