Hi ,
I got my reccos and transcripts from India. I was told by my profs and dean tht they have not mentioned any date on the letter..Is tht fine?..Also, there is no date mentioned on my transcript..just the dean's sign and stamp...

Shld a date be mentioned on all the documents.?..If thts the case..then i will have to work fast..
pls answer soon, if anyone has any idea.

i would say instead of posting this on forum try to call schools which u intend to apply..they can answer this best
even i had reco's from my school but since some schools need recent [shdnt be more than one yr old].I had to do this homework again was stressful coz faculty changed since i graduated and they didnt know me ...so better confirm from schools where u are applying if they find it ok cool..else you have to go through all that again

i think i can answer this..
year of graduation means ..year you passed final year
and year of internship is one year proceeding that
even if you cross check your degree certificate ..its written year of grad ..and internship from when and where
also ...in our degree date is not mentioned right?...so its like july [year]
hope that makes it clear
also there's nothing silly about that had done such mistakes and had to do redo ...

Hi Doc,
I think it is better if your recommendation letters have a date on it..for most schools , they want a letter which has been dated within the past one year when you apply...

And one more thing... it is better that the recommendation letter given by the dean and professor/s should be addressed to"The members of the Admissions Committee, DDS/DMD with Advanced Standing Program" intead of writing " To whomsoever it may concern " ...

Hi Doc,
For the year of graduation, mention the year in which you passed your final year BDS ( in your case 1999 ) and for filling up the column for date of degree awarded , you mention it as it is on your degree ... you can mention in brackets ( after completing internship ) ....

For the column what major we have done , mention " DENTISTRY "

there is no advanced standing program in Baylor..Foreign applicants need a GRE score to apply. click on admissions..then go to graduate admissions...we can apply to a dental specialty field and get a M.S. degree..Tution is very very cheap there and moreover I am intexas so was interested in getting into tht school...
Also, u need to send in ur applications thro' PASS or MAtch..depends on the program...

There is no separate page for the individual programs...guess u have to call and ask..or if possible go and meet them..I asked them if i could get an appointment but was told today tht they are busy with orienattion program and so i have to come in next week or later...
endodontic deadline is 15th aug..and prostho is sep 1..dont remember the rest..check the graduate admissions tab.

Practice of Dentistry Provide information, including dates and description of practice activities, if you have practiced dentistry.

Relevant Work Experience. Provide information, including dates and descriptions, about relevant work experiences.

The forms can be filled either handwritten or you can try with an electronic type writer... Handwritten can be done faster...as long as they are neat and legible its fine...

The DD is same as certified cheque...

In the appln for uic the last page says "Personal Statement In Support Of Application" and teh ask you some questions. Can someone please tell me that is that the only personal statement we need to write i.e. answering their questions or other than that we need to post something else.

Hi, here in Baylor they are offering 2 courses..a 27 month certificate course..and a 36 month MS course...Both will make u eligible to get a license in Texas..dunno about other states..BAylor need International applicants to take GRE and toefl..part 1 is not mandatory for international dentists..u can have a look at their site..call them..u will get the answers..Having a GC is not Mandatory.Most clinical programs participate in PASS/MATCH..for other non-clinical u have to apply directlty to school. Prostho deadline already gone..bad luck..I am trying for endo...lets see...am not tht optimistic about getting here...its just tht i had taken GRE simply for BAylor..and its close to my place..Moreover, tuition is very attractive...BAylor ranks good in its endo,perio and prostho programs..

I got my ece thing done during internship also.I sent in 4 years marks card, 10th and 12th ,marks cards..thats it.
And oh get a course by course eval done...will save u money while you apply for colleges 😀

Usually all banks have a person to do notarization. I am not sure if doctors do it or not.

The following supporting documents are needed:

National Board Scores: Part 1
TOEFL scores
ECE course by course evaluation
Photocopy of Diploma AND dental transcripts

thanks for the info.i havent asked the ece.org to send the gpa to ada. i dint know that. i was unaware of it. its so difficult to gather all the info.its good to have a forum like this going on.will this affect my exam date? will there be more delays in booking the exam date as i dunno how long it will take for the ece to send the report to me? they said 12 days.and after that to ada i really dunno. may be am worrying too much.i dunno.thanks again anyways

Well ! Even I am not sure ... its a bit confusing.... I wrote a condensed SOP in that column as it has to be within the word limits they have given...but once we submit our application online, if we want to make any changes to our application, then we have to send it in writing through normal mail...now I am thinking that I should write seperately a fulfilling experience and SOP in different sheets and send them and see ...


If some one can clear our doubts regarding this, it would be nice....Thanks in advance to anyone who gives a clear picture about filling this column for BU application ( whether we have to write SOP or fulfilling experience or both )

for michigan application also....they hav asked 4 questions and asked for dental experience and dental goals to be written in 2 separate sheets..so how r ull goin abt it?? write the 4 answers on 4 separate sheets?? 😕
