The link for the status check in my 6/30 no longer works either...does that translate into an early rejection?

Ugh.. 10,000 characters, are you serious? So basically, tell your ENTIRE life story. It's not even, "Topics that may be included..." , it's "Topics to be included...". This one is going to be fun.
 
I was actually surprised by getting a secondary today from UCSD...I'm OOS. Now on to the beast of an autobiography they ask for....

I wonder how many people choose not to finish this secondary?

Are there any stats on how many people get secondaries from UCSD and how many actually get interview invites?

These are ballpark figures off the top of my head (that I originally read on their webpage), but I believe it's something like 6,000 applicants, 1,900 secondaries, 600 interviews, and ~300 acceptances, with the rest going into an "acceptable" pool/waiting list.

This is going to be a monster.... my primary essay was basically my autobiography. I'm kind of surprised I got a secondary with a 3.41 gpa and 3.31 bcpm. Guess I was at the edge.

Anyone know if this is rolling? It says I have a 1month deadline from e-mail invite. Just wondering if I need to rush this essay.

Tell me about it. My primary essay included my childhood, high school, college years, and motivations for medicine. I've also been out of school, so I have to answer the "what have you been doing?" question. What in the world does that leave me to write about for 10,000 characters?

I do believe UCSD admissions are rolling, so it's time to get cracking!

Nope, no secondary yet. There are little hyphens where dates are supposed to be (on the status page) so unless they've decided to send out secondaries in chunks, UCSD feels that I suck.

that's unfortunate. you and i have similar stats, so they must think i suck too 🙁 and i love ucsd!
bradstein has pretty good stats too. i hope they're just sending these out in chunks. i didnt get my mcat scores until a week ago...so maybe my app was a little late?
 
whenever i click on the "secondary app. form" button on the status check page it sends me to an error 404 page. anyone else getting this as well??
 
just b/c you don't get a secondary the first instant they are available doesn't mean you are rejected. lets all take a deep breath and relax. Its not over til you get an "i'm sorry" email. no one has gotten that yet, so just 😀 and watch a movie or something.

p.s. i havent gotten one yet either.

Ok i just called them and the lady at the admissions office told me its a server problem. Just try again in a hour or 2 and things should be ok!
