i called today to ask what if anything they had changed on my application so that I could calculate my gpa on my own. FINALLY i got through to somebody who knew what they were doing. He sent me my application via email with all my information on it. GPA was broken down into years and designation( bio, chem...etc.) They also have something referred to as quality points. I have no clue what this is. So... just keep on calling.. somebody is bound to help

Also, I called a bunch of DO school and it seems like all of them had a matriculating class with an avg gpa of 3.5 and a 26-27 mcat.

Did they give you any indication about why it seems to be such an impossible feat to publish our GPA's online? This is ridiculous.

apparently their programmers are on the job. But thats what I have been told for weeks now. Just call .. if you get a guy with a thick accent then he is the one that doesn't know. He is very nice and helpful but when he doesn't know something he just gives you a weird explanation. The other guy doesn't have an accent. I think his name is Jason or something. He is the one that emailed me my stuff

received email from admissions recruiter at LECOM... i'm assuming this is the same one everyone else has been getting as their unofficial "you are verified" email....right? talks about gettin an email with login info, will be receiving secondary in a few weeks, etc. etc.

if so, i am verified....woo whoo!!! Submitted June 11th so almost exactly 4 weeks.

does LECOM screen?

Awesome! I just got the secondary, so maybe it won't take a few weeks from today--probably much sooner.

so does screening typically mean "you made the GPA/MCAT cut off?" How many schools actually review your primary app beyond gpa/mcat?? I know Western claims that they do....any other schools?

Yes, that's my understanding. All I can go by is the secondaries I've received. Since I don't have an MCAT score yet and still got secondaries from LECOM, VCOM, Pikeville, and MSU, I assume those schools don't screen, or if they do, they don't screen for MCAT. UNECOM emailed to say they were waiting on an MCAT score.

You received a secondary from VCOM with no MCAT score? I got an email from them saying they put me on hold until they received my MCAT score.. I have gotten LECOM and MSU, but no Pikeville either. Just curious.. Thanks!

Hmm, I don't know. I got the VCOM one last week so I assumed they didn't screen MCAT. Pikeville will come via snail mail so keep a look-out!
 
So as part of my committee letter process I have to provide a copy of my 'processed' AACOMAS application. I submitted at the end of May and have received 4 secondaries (UNECOM, LECOM, ATSU-SOMA, ATSU-Kirksville), so I assume that I've been verified.

However, after emailing my committee a copy of the application they replied that it was NOT the 'processed' copy and that it may take AACOMAS another week or two to process the application. Is there a difference between verified and processed? Does anyone know if there will be updates through AACOMAS that show that an application has been processed?

Your committee sounds like a hassle, especially since AACOMAS seemingly changed a lot from last year. I could be wrong, but I think verified is when they check your transcripts and processed is when they've mailed your application to schools. Your getting those secondaries, though, implies that you're processed and not just verified. There is also no update through AACOMAS.

One person has mentioned that they got someone at AACOMAS to email them a copy of the verified application that's not available online, with GPAs included. Apparently not everyone at AACOMAS is able/willing/trained to do this. You need to get your hands on that copy. It was at the top of this page--start at #153.
 
If i submitted on the 30th of June i should see secondaries by mid august right?

I submitted on 6/1. not sure when I was verified as the answer to your question is no, AACOMAS still says submitted for me. But I have 6 secondary app's in my email right now and am expecting more in the next couple days. If i had to guess as to when I was verified...I received UNECOM's secondary on 7/2 a month after I submitted my primary...I received 4 secondaries on 7/10.

But some people are counting when they actually submitted their application and others are counting when the last report (MCAT or transcript) was received? What if we are retaking the MCAT and indicated a date; does that mean we can't be verified until after they get the second score, or will they still verify us with the first score? So much for trying to get everything in early.:(
 
When people are saying thery received secondaries from LECOM are they talking about Erie, PA, Bradenton or both?

You're way ahead of the game. I know people that still haven't taken the MCAT for this cycle yet. I'm retaking mine but still. While they are waiting on their first score, I am already complete at one school and submitted secondaries to about 5 others.
 
AACOMAS is finally saying that they have received my transcript, how long has it been taking people for their status to change from "received" to "verified"?

You're verified? Please let me know how you got secondaries from other schools, or did you just go on their websites and download them youself?
 
hey guys, has anyone that was complete after 6/15 received secondaries yet? I submitted on 6/15, and still haven't received any.:(

AACOMAS is finally saying that they have received my transcript, how long has it been taking people for their status to change from "received" to "verified"?

There is no "verified" status change, although the word is that they're gonna start doing that at the end of the week.

wow, if thats true, it really blows.. i submitted on June 20th, i was hoping to get my secondaries in by august.. if i dont get them, i wont be able to submit until september.. since i wont be here for the month of august!.. ahhhhhhhhhh

So you won't have email for a month?

Also, you can do a lot of them now, and just wait to submit until you receive the invites.

I had everything in 5/19 and my app still does not say it's verified. However I have received notices from 4 schools! I don't know what AACOMAS has for my GPA breakdown, but one school mentioned my GPA was too low and the science GPA they have is lower then my app from last year-with no differences in classes or grades. How does that happen? I have been & am still trying to get some answers.

i wanna start writing them now, but i dont know what to write!.. i know... im just being stupid.. but like for the question "why osteopathic medicine" its like why not? i wanna be a doctor and being a DO will get me there.. its annoying... i really have to spend a lot of time on it... im just being lazy :(

Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully you get it fixed - I had a problem with my AMCAS GPA and let them know - and it was fixed in two days. I don't know how AACOMAS is, though. I was wondering, whether it's your correct GPA or not, which school was it and what GPA was too low? That would be interesting to know.
