haha I just did the same thing on Monday, added a few more schools with easy secondaries (i.e. no new essays to write). I figure, if I'm going to add I need to do it now before it gets too late into the cycle. Besides, it's only $31 to add a school.
 
Hey guys! 🙂 I was verified sometime in June and still have not received my secondary! I called today and they said that my secondary has not been sent yet but not explanation or anything. 🙁 I was super worried but after reading this thread and seeing that others are in my boat too I calmed down a bit.
Still, it's weird that the secondaries are being sent so sporadically and randomly. It doesn't seem to be based on how early you verified/applied - I'm confused! ack! It's my last secondary, I just want it over already!!!

On a side note, out of 22 applied schools only 9 are complete! How is this possible?? All my stuff was sent out so long ago!! A month at least...
I was verified in June, my LORs sent out by AMCAS in August - why the delay? And I thought waiting for the MCAT was nerve-wracking! 😱

The reason you are not complete is most likely the schools problem. They need to see that you have everything and mark you. It is out of your hands at this point and if Drexel is your last secondary than don't worry about a thing as it is a simple form. I submitted like 10 minutes after I got it.

Thanks! I actually called all the schools earlier today, and two of them found my stuff and marked me as complete which was awesome - most of the others just gave me an attitude and said to wait lol
I'm trying to be relaxed about it, but when I hear that people are already getting interviews it makes my stomach get all twisty! It is what it is though; out of my hands! 🙂

You won't find as many "i have no news to share" posts, obviously. Just remember that for every "interview invite" post you see, hundreds (if not thousands) of other applicants are waiting just like you and me.

For those of you interviewing, where are you guys staying? Is there reliable public transportation that will take us to the campus before 9am? I was hoping to find a place within walking distance from the campus but I don't really see any place like that. I don't plan on renting a car... not even sure if I can, since I'm not 25.

I'll be staying at the Student Guest House. It's a block from campus. They really were super nice and they even offer tranportation to & from the guest house. The owner's name is Mia and you can find the phone # in the letter sent from Drexel on accomodations. When is your interview?

I'm going on 10/6. I just booked a room at the Travel lodge motel... it's 1.5 miles from campus so I guess I can just take a nice early morning walk to my interview. I hope I don't get mugged walking around in the early morning wearing my spiffy new suit...

How much does it cost to stay at the Student Guest House? If it's cheaper than the motel I might just switch to that place.

The only Travelodge I know of is in Center City. You're planning on walking from there?

Thanks, just canceled it and got a refund... it said on the website that it was 1.5 miles from Drexel, but it was some other Drexel campus/building and not where the interview is being held. Phhhew...
 
What questions are on the secondary? What do they ask?
We have to write an essay during the interview by hand? about what?

It's $85 a night, your own room & bathroom & the nicest lady. Again, it's a block from campus and you can leave your luggage there until after the interview...
 
Hurray finally got the secondary! I got both Drexel and Loyola's secondary today, these 2 were the last ones I was waiting on. It was in my junk email folder so be careful to check your junk folder every now and then.
 
I was complete on the 25th also. Hopefully I get a status change soon.

aw man, that's the first i've seen of such a status. and yea, it does sound like another school (i think wake forest... might be wrong...) which meant it was a rejection. sorry to hear that. good luck at your other schools.

hey. i still havent gotten a secondary yet from drexel. i was verified on 8/15 too. how long did it take for u to hear back?
 
received and submitted the secondary as well.. verified 8/6

I'm on hold for interview...but I hada few updates since then that I wanted to mention, do you guys think it would be ok to send them an update letter or something? Or is it still too early? What do you think?

I didn't even know they send out rejections, I was under the impression that it was either interview or hold?
 
Interview! yes! I am excited. So is there still a essay on interview day this year? Or did they drop it?

Has anyone had problems with payment for this secondary? I think it's my internet connection, but the site has been "processing" my payment for the last 10 minutes... any suggestions on what to do? I want to just close the window and start over, but there is a statement that says: Do not select your browser's back button or refresh this page. This could cause your payment to be duplicated.

Nevermind, while it was still processing, I received an e-mail indicating the payment was processed. Strange.. but it worked I guess.
 
wait you have an interview in NOVEMBER? does that mean they've lined interviews up til november or that you chose a late date?

They give you an online calendar of three months to chose your interview date from (most weeks have 3-5 days open). They actually might be backed up to November. When I setup my interview, I had choices from Sept - Nov. I then decided to wait a week to schedule my date. I then had like 2 choices left before mid-October :/ This was a week or two ago...

I scheduled 2 days ago and they had from mid-october and beyond
 
just to share a small slightly comical anecdote.
my dad went to drexel for undergrad and works for the city of philadelphia and has worked with drexel's co-op program for undergrads. yesterday he received an email from drexel's medical school informing him that he was invited to fill out their secondary. my dad and i have the same first name initial.
a small testament to the disorganization of medical school admissions.

There weren't too many October days available. I can't afford to go to another interview in the middle of the week so I took the first Friday available, which only made about a two week difference in the interview date. I figured two weeks will not kill my chances.

oh gosh..yea that makes sense. I'm just trying to see where I stand since I haven't been offered an interview
 
I was complete on August 13, still no status update. Should I be worried?

Hi everyone- congrats on all these interviews! I am an M-1 and just wanted to say that when I visited I stayed at the Student Guest House and it was a great experience! That's really the best bet you have as far as accommodations go unless you want to come in from the city or stay with a student.

Is there anyone still waiting for their secondary from Drexel? I was verified mid-July, have completed all my secondaries aside from Drexel and OHSU (but OHSU is notoriously slow). Since they don't screen, it seems odd that some people are still waiting for secondaries from Drexel... 😕
