OMG OMG OMG...A FINAL DECISION HAS BEEN REACHED! I'm scared!

P.s ..Interviewed mid february...wonder why mine went through so fast! I really hope it's not a rejection.

No my status changed to Interview has been scheduled ---> Committee after 2 wks I had my interview ----> Final decision (after being in committee for 3 weeks)...I really really really really hope its not a rejecction. That would be devastating 😕

GL! I interviewed 01/19. My status changed to "member of the commetee" 2 weeks after my interview. Now its been 7 weeks that its not changing 😕
 
I had similar situation (some confusion with interview dates). I called and the lady was really nice - she checked and confirmed that my file is in place. Couple of days later my status changed to "your file is with a member of the committee". Now its more then 5 weeks "with member...", hopefully will go to the commetee this week.

thanks for the advice...i called the office yesterday, spoke with kareem (i think), and he said there were no problems. apparently my app is in the review process but a final decision hasn't been reached yet. at least it hasn't been lost somewhere, i guess?? no status change yet, though.

me=very jealous. i wonder what causes some apps to get reviewed relatively fast, and others to be neglected for months? maybe it all depends on your interviewer.
 
So I was complete on 12/4. No interview yet, but my decision page has finally changed from 'Under Review' to 'Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision. '
How late in the season are they really going to drag this on? I mean, I feel if I had any shot at all I would have been at least granted an interview and then put on the wait list. Am I on a wait list that they go to if the first one somehow completely empties out?
 
I'm in the same boat. Got the re-review status two weeks ago, and I am praying that is not the case - if it is, i hope the waitlist is shallow. If anyone can shed some light on this, It'd be fantastic.

A couple of pages ago in this thread, a current Drexel student said that this status signifies that they're not sure whether or not to send us an interview invite.

The status you've received is Drexel's "hold" status. It means they've taken a look at your application and they've decided not to offer you an interview at this time, but they're going to set your file aside and not reject you outright.

You have to wait, but you're not technically on a waitlist since you haven't been interviewed yet.

Final decision today!!!!

My status changed from "member of the commetee" to "under review by the commetee". Now waiting for the final decision :scared::scared::scared:
 
Has anyone received a background check email who got the final decision last Friday March 19 or some time around then? I am getting a little worried because I haven't, but I am wondering if they might send those emails out in batches, and perhaps they just haven't sent the recent batch out yet for people who recently got a final decision notice. I know I am looking way too far into this but i cant help it I am expecting a letter soon and dont like just passively waiting.
 
Anyone still waiting for a final decision who interviewed around 1/14? I know it's not as long as some other people on here, but I've been at committee for about 9 weeks now.

1/9 here, I've been at member of committee for 10+ weeks
 
Final decision letters were sent out yesterday! I checked

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't get one either. Some ppl on here received their acceptance package before the background check email so don't look too much into it...
 
So I just got a background check email today and I called the office, the lady (who was extremely nice) told me my letter was sent out yesterday. She also said that people who are weightlisted get background checks as well.
anyone who has been weightlisted received a background check email?
Please tell me this means an acceptance!!!!:xf: I interviewed in November and this would be my first acceptance.

I've been wait listed since Feb and haven't received a background email. I've read on here somewhere that wait listers don't get background check emails til May/June. Looks like you have an acceptance coming your way! I interviewed same day as you too!

Oh ****..now I am REALLY freaking out. I didn't get any background check email and my letter was sent out yesterday too. I might be rejected then. :scared:
 
But AAMC have done a background check on me when I had my first acceptance. Do you think that's why I didn't get it? Does Drexel perform itsown CBC?
 
I got this from AMCAS ... I guess if you have consented for the check for one school, they don't send that email to you again since that consent applies for every school.
The CBC icon indicates that this school participates in an AMCAS-facilitated criminal background check service. Via this service, upon your initial, conditional acceptance by a participating medical school, or upon request by a participating medical school that adds you to its alternate list, our partner in this service, Certiphi Screening, Inc., will send an email to the preferred email address you entered in your AMCAS application. This email will provide you with additional information and access to a secure, online form via which you will provide consent for this report to be procured. Your consent will serve for all medical schools, and you will not be asked to provide consent upon receiving additional, conditional acceptance offers by participating medical schools.

I received the final decision notice yesterday and a background check email a few hours ago.

And now I find out that it could either be an acceptance or a wait list! Are you guys sure of this?

i literally just checked right now and got this : "A final decision has been reached and a letter will be mailed to your preferred address." my heart definitely stopped for a couple of seconds. and now that background check thing is going to make me nervous all week.

Interviewed same day as you and got the final decision status yesterday....

Also, for those wondering, I've researched through this thread and have come to the conclusion that the language on your status page ("final decision" or "a decision has been reached") does not necessarily determine whether you've been waitlisted, accepted, or rejected. I've looked through this thread and apparently people have had all 3 results with each wording.

hey, I just got waitlisted here. I interviewed on 1/12. Does anyone know if the status page changes when drexel makes a decision whether to give waitlisters an acceptance or do they just call you? I hate more waiting...

Join the club. They will email you if your status changes from now on. When I called, the guy pretty much told me to not to call regarding the wait list and that if I would hear anything at all, it wouldn't at least be until May.
 
I've been "re-review later in the season" status for about 6 months, can I assume that this will now be a rejection?
 
I'm sorry I know this question is probably a little annoying but, Is there anybody on here whose first acceptance was from Drexel and did not receive the background check email before their letter came in the mail?

I am pretty sure that happened to quite a few people, so don't let it bother you too much🙂 (I know, easier said than done)

Just curious, did your status say a decision or a final decision was reached?
 
it said decision. I called them to see if there was a difference between the two status updates and they said no, though...based on what's been happening i'm pretty sure there is...
 
A logical deduction between "a decision" and "a final decision" have been reached is that the former could allude to "Waitlisting" category while the latter to either accepted or rejected post-interview. What say you, guys and gals?
 
Yeah, anecdotally my "final" was acceptance. fwiw

I got in!!! Found out Friday. This may have been the best weekend of my life. Congrats to the rest of you. Don't ever stop trying those of you who have not heard yet or heard bad news. This is my second year applying and believe me when I say it is totally worth it! 👍
