Here's to hoping this day isnt like the day I got my MCAT results back. I checked SDN and the MCAT status page at least every 30 minutes until past 6pm at night! Then they fiiiiinally loaded after most SDNers had said they were giving up at which point the forum exploded haha.:xf:

if it makes you feel better, i've been reloading for 7 hours already. probably won't sleep tonight. fml.
 
I woke up in a panic today lol and have been feeling anxious ever since. God, I live for days like these. Just kidding.

Good luck everyone! Its certainly an accomplishment in itself to make it this far with an amazing school. I would be so humbled by the good news. I'm sure many of you feel the same way.

The (1) on gmail's inbox makes me spaz a little bit, but i suppose that's the way it goes.

@ Jihad -- that's insane! I would have been losing my mind. My MCAT score unexpectedly posted 2 hrs early, and I had originally promised myself I wouldn't check until 5 PM. Of course, I couldn't help myself and finally I promised myself I would look "just this once"-- and they had posted.

Sure wish I had some self-control now

Thank god I didn't know about this crazy place when I was waiting on my scores. I was already freaking out cause my internet went dead that morning...had to go to a friend's house to check. She must have thought I was insane when I started screaming and jumping around...MCAT never again!

sometimes i wonder how the last year of my life might have been diff without sdn. i don't post very often, but i obsessively read these forums.

also finally just got around to updating my MDApps since august.

any thoughts on how to pass the time today?

Haha, yes, me too. I don't post very often either, but I spend more time reading these forums than I'd like to say. 😛

I am going on a road trip today, and the post won't arrive before we leave... ah well. I'll be checking my email as soon as we get where we're going.

hahah I have so much love for this thread right now. I have nothing to do alll day except refresh my inbox, because I'm in Hartford for the women's Big East basketball tourney
 
so, do people really think emails are coming out today? the more i consider this, the more i think they would probably wait a day or so after the acceptance letters arrive.

also- based on that article someone posted earliere, there are 450 or so that make it to the "final deliberation." if they take 180, how many do you think they put on the wait-list?

if it is 50 or so, that would make it a 50% chance that if you made a >4 on your interviews that you would get accepted or waitlisted.

those aren't terrible odds. if it is true.

le sigh. i am ridiculous.

I think we are going off of what it says on the PAS login page. I think they do try to get all the news to arrive at teh same time.
 
Well, supposedly acceptance letters were mailed on Friday, right? So if that's the case and duke is trying to time the receipt of acceptance letters with the mailing of apps, they should send out the emails today.

hard to say, though, i guess.
 
Just checked mail in the DC area... mail came, but nothing from Duke.

Does this mean i'm done??? ahhh
 
There should at least be more people getting the acceptance letter today, even if they wait on the emails... It would be cool if they posted so we would know if its made it to the west coast etc.
 
i wouldn't be convinced of anything until you have either an email or envelope in hand. based on the thread from last year, there seemed to be a lot of issues with the Duke servers in getting decisions out to people. even though you live closer, you never know whether there was a problem locally with your own post office or anything like that!

no news is good news until it's bad news or really good news. right?

Exactly! The way I see it, no news means I've been accepted or rejected or put on the waitlist, right?

Just got the mail and the acceptance addressed to "(the future) Dr...." I live in PA. Good luck to everyone. Newest top choice for me.

Anyone on the west coast got a mailman that comes early? My guy doesn't come til around 3...so it's a race between the email and the mailman. Grrr. Just send the emails already...how hard can it be? Push send...

ahh doesn't mean anything. It took 13 days for me to get a letter from UNC. And I'm in Cary, NC (20 minutes from Carolina).

Sometimes Postal is just slowwwwwwwww....

of course, I'm off on a business trip and my parents wont be home to check the mail until 7. so i'm stuck waiting on pins and needles until they go check the mail 🙄
 
in nyc, just checked the mail and...nothing from Duke. Let the depression begin 🙁🙁🙁

The quickest any mail has gotten to me is 13 days, and the slowest was 1 month and 3 weeks. =p (If you count UCSF's supposed rejection letter, that will be around 8 months and I havent received it yet)

Let the waiting begin... or maybe they will just email and reject me and I can just go watch the Liverpool game in peace... and sadness.

For those accepted, when did you interview?

lets assume that the 5 people that posted were guys, that means 45 spots for guys left (and its gonna be near 50/50). fun fun
 
I hope the 113 guests sign up so we know when they hear back. I'm guessing since I'm on the west coast I won't get mail until at least tomorrow.
 
I love how of those ~130 viewers, only ~25 are members currently logged in.
 
Ok well...since there has been some speculation that the email is going out around 3ish....I am going to work myself up some endorphins at the gym 🙂 soften the blow.
 
i interviewed late January...so maybe i'm not in the first wave? *hopeful*

i wish they'd just send the emails out already, and get this torture over with.
