Congrats acceptees! Last year I think they staggered it so pretty much everyone got it the same day.. even west coasters. I'm hoping this isn't the case for this year...

This is so unfair. I am on spring break so I am at home, but my AMCAS contact information is for my school address. I won't get mail for another week....

Three questions:
1) When do the rejection/waitlist emails come out compared with the letters?
2) Has anyone on the West Coast gotten mail yet?
3) For those accepted, has your status changed on your PAS?

yeah 🙁 but not EVERYONE got it the same day 🙂, some got it the next day, so here's to hoping... and they did say on monday, maybe they tried to coordinate it to get there on monday, dunno
 
they tried to coordinate to get it on monday, i think. they probably dropped it off last night thinking it wouldnt go anywhere til 3/8 + emails on monday?

The homepage (before logging into your PAS) also says that apps are still under review and not all decisions will be released on Monday. I don't know when y'all interviewed, but I'm guessing these are the applicants who had later interviews? Best of luck to everyone! 🙂

yeah i guess, cuz they send it by priority, and the usps says priority takes 2-3 days, maybe a place like raliegh, even DC, they get it in one day, cuz the Raleigh guy got it in one day...

So this is my first post on SDN, but that seems to be me MDApps page you guys are referring about. I have no information up because I'd like to be anonymous and will update it at the end of this cycle..I thought it would be a nice way to organize my applications in the mean time.

Anyway, I received a pretty informal email from Dr. Armstrong with the subject "Welcome to DukeMed" on Friday evening. I'm not sure why they send it to some people and not others....

For everyone thats still waiting, the email said I should receive my acceptance in the mail on Monday or Tuesday (I'm guessing this will be the case for those of us not in NC) and that Second Look Weekend is April 9-11th.

Congratulations to everyone that has heard back and good luck to everyone that is still waiting!

First of all, congrats!! Second of all, did you interview with Dr. Armstrong, or was her email kind of out of the blue (meaning you never had contact with her before this).

Not that it matters since I probably have no chance, but just curious anyway.

Sure you do! I have recently come to realize how unimpressive I am in comparison with some people I met on my interview trail, definitely count you as one of the impressive ones 🙂

I had no contact with her and didn't interview with her either... I was waiting for something in the mail like everyone else, so the email was definitely a pleasant surprise. Good luck!

thats pretty strange. i wonder if the others who were accepted received an email. doesnt appear so. i wish med schools didnt keep is in the blue about this stuff
 
Not going to lie this thread has me very anxious now...and depressed.. but with some optimism

ok thats weird, cuz everyone i know who has gotten in, in the past years have never received any acceptance notification by email, they only got the snail mail...maybe they really want you

and i dont think people should worry. for one, im sure there will be many more acceptances coming in on monday/tuesday cuz they really dont send out email acceptances usually, AND only 3 pple have posted, last year there were tons more on "acceptance" day. the 2 previous pple receiving acceptances today would have posted that they received the email if they did, cuz they seemed excited/surprised about the acceptance letter today.. and the girl who got the email said that her letter would come in the mail on monday/tuesday. so im sure there are many more pple who didnt get the email (like the 2 pple above) who will get acceptances on monday/tuesday, cuz Brenda and Richard cant send personal emails to all 180 or so initial acceptees! so i dont see why there is anything to worry about until next week, and they are doing it a lil different this year cuz they said not all files will receive decisions by monday. so lets just wait! 🙂

I second that, q99! I realize that I haven't had that much activity on SDN, but I've definitely been keeping up with the posts. So, I absolutely feel all the pre-decision jitters 😕 We've waited this long, what's a few more days ... even if they feel like weeks 😉.
 
As an aside, apart from the obvious awesomeness, you know what one of my favorite parts about Duke med is? Chick-fil-A. In the hospital food court.

I would sell my first-born child for a 12-pack of nuggets and some waffle fries right now. Mmmmm.
 
Can the accepted ones please clarify whether they received only snail mail, only email, or both? I've received neither and am now extremely anxious. Is it possible that all accepted ones have already been emailed?

didn't get any letter and I live <30 miles from duke, so no worries to everybody else waiting..i'm sure we will hear soon enough!!

haha yeah i know in-n-out is great. still, i couldnt resist chick-fil-a. i hadn't had it in several years.
 
So, no email here, just snail mail. From what I know about Duke's process, the email acceptance mentioned earlier in the thread is unusual. I would still expect snail mail acceptances or email WL/rejections.

Since it will be automated, I think we will get it at 5:30am. That is exactly what time I got my interview invite at...

Ah, one advantage to being several time zones ahead, I guess I will get rejected around lunchtime.

That being said, I got my interview invite at 4:38pm Eastern time, so maybe it isn't automated? Or at least not necessarily set for 5:30am.
