Super impressive match list. As I am not entirely certain about what I'll be doing it is nice to see such a range. Also love that they match all over the country as opposed to just staying in one place. The other school I am considering is a state school (not my home state, but close) and they match like 50% in that state. I guess I can't expect anything else from a state school, since they are supposed to be providing doctors for that area. Still, I like the array of options that Georgetown students seem to have.

The email started off so positive.. but I was put in the CAP today :(

Time to start drafting my letter. Anyone else get an email today?

Long time lurker on here...got into Georgetown today!

3.7/34,I was expecting a waitlisted mainly because I had a weird interview, but I'm really excited to get in. I'm from the area, so that may have helped.

Congrats Docdocdocgoose! You going to help out with the football game? If you are female, there is an opening at QB. If male, there's always sideline coaching from the sidelines with a brewsky.

Anyone have any ideas when financial aid comes out? That's probably going to dictate whether or not I will be able to be the star D-end.

I'll be coaching, if by coaching you mean yelling out absurdly complicated plays that only get more complex as my alcohol intake increases.

I have the luxury of getting financial help from my parents...I'm not expecting to get any from G-town, but it'd be nice to get something.

Here's a drill to get you going for the big game!

I will start running in circles immediately if it means we beat the MS2 team.

I'll make up a season work out for our M1's, lots of plyo's and strength stuff-- I want the M2's to be terrified of our girls! And I'll make our D rock solid

Hi, I interviewed in October and was placed on CAP on 12/8. I sent my letter in Jan. and had 2 people write in on my behalf. Should I write another letter? Does anyone know when the committee will be meeting next? Is there space left?

Email Ms Sullivan and ask her if you should write another one. She will straight up tell you. I did this and it was a huge help.

hi guys, first time posting. just thought i would pass along some information to all of us waiting anxiously on the CAP. I emailed Mrs. Sullivan over the weekend (sent my letter in February) and she said that Dr. Lauerman has not had a chance to review the LOIs and has quite a stack of letters to read. She also said that he hopes to read the letters within the next 7-14 days so here's hoping we all hear some good news soon!

Thank you for passing that along. Puts my mind at ease a bit.

Great news because I am just getting ready to send mine.

If the letters have not been read yet, how have people been getting off of CAP?

I know the the three paragraphs, but did you make it a formal business letter with inside address and such or in a more casual email format?

The orthopedic academy meetings were two weeks ago, that's probably why Dr. Lauerman has not had a chance to read the letters.

I don't think there is a difference between formal or more casual, just be professional and be yourself. I think he can tell when someone is genuine about it. Best of luck.

I know a bunch more people have been accepted. Congrats! Would the admins of the Facebook group re-post the link to the group so those people can join? There are only 25 in the group, and I'm pretty sure the entering class is bigger than that!

Hello dear friends, I got CAPped last week and am in the process of writing my letter. Do any of you remember the four qualities Gt seeks to engrain into their physicians? Mrs. Sullivan spoke of these qualities.

Physician-advocate, physician-healer, physician-scientist, physician-?

I didn't really use any of these terms in my letter (I was accepted.) I just wrote about half a page about why I wanted to go to GUSOM, and another half page about what qualities I'd bring to the school as a student there. Mine was very simple but honest. My advice would be to not get too "fluffy" with your letter. (yes, I know I have the vocabulary of a third grader.) Good luck!!!

Well, I am happy to say that my fiance and I have decided that Georgetown is it. I am sending out my withdrawal letters to other schools and going all in at G-Town. Looking forward to seeing you all in the fall!

Sweet! Waiting to hear back. What other schools did you get into?

Creighton, Northwestern, Colorado, Louisiana State, and Temple. Colorado would have been cheapest, depending on if they gave me instate, but I liked G-town's student life better than the other schools.

That is an impressive list but I'm glad you chose gtown! I cannot wait to get out to DC.

When do you think you will move out there? My fiance and I are not sure when we should try to go apartment hunting/move. We will be moving about 2700 miles away from home, so it should be interesting in our first week of marriage.

When are people going to try to start their leases?

Hey everyone im headed to gtown!! accepted feb 4 interviewed 5 dec. pretty freakin pumped. goodluck to all waitlisted. see you in august.

So any one know whens the deadline on the waitlist? Whens the most and last movement? May?

I'm not sure what you mean by the deadline for the waitlist, but I think the most movement will happen in may and the last movement probably mid july.

Has anyone who interviewed near the end of February heard back yet?

Doesn't really seem like anyone has heard much of anything lately. Anyone get in from the CAP lately?

Ok. So when are we getting some idea of what our financial aid package will look like from Georgetown? I've been talking to them by email and in person for over two months and have gotten hardly anywhere. Anyone?

the dean of admissions told me at second look day to expect it around next Monday (4/19)... I have no idea if that is accurate

I called fin aid this week, and they said rewards will be mailed starting the 19th. I guess this means they have calculated everything for the people who have mailed back their paperwork.

Good thing I mailed in all my paperwork. Now all they have to do is accept me...

I'm thinking about getting a new laptop (my current one is practically falling apart). Anyone know if macs will be okay? Do we have to have windows for lab programs, study materials, tests/quizes, etc.? Any thoughts or suggestions?

I keep having nightmares that my financial aid won't come through. Let's hope in a couple of days that that nightmare goes away lol

Good luck to all on the CAP! Hope you get some news soon

I'm not sure how fin aid works, but I imagine they just scan our paperwork and enter couple numbers into a software and it spits out a number on the other side.

I was thinking about getting an imac for home and just carry around a little netbook since i'm not expecting to do any heavy studying on the netbook.

Hey I interviewed on 3/1 and i got put on CAP yesterday. Pretty bumbed out as this was my # 1 choice. Im not sure if, at this late juncture in time, our files will ever be reviewed. Nonetheless I'll be writing my 3 paragraph persausive letter.

Thanks for the help guys. Do any of you remember what the testing format will be? It won't be on our computers will it? I keep asking all of these questions that I should know. Sorry.

I called the financial aid office today and they said that award letters will be sent out at the end of this week via snail mail.
