No breakfast. Just water throughout the day, and a sub/boxed lunch at lunchtime.

I submitted the secondary on 8/20. Was registered complete about a week or two later. I'm just wondering how long it takes to find out about an interview or rejection. A month?

It took me around a month, but that was in July-August, so I wouldn't be surprised if it takes longer now.

Anyone interested in splitting their hotel room for Sept 8?

We can giggle about our interview the next day into the wee hours of the morning...

Yeah, If anyone is interested in splitting a place the evening of Sept 12 or 13th that would be great. I have a room at the convention center for those two nights and it was $400!

Interview this Tuesday, any advice other than stay calm? I'm starting to get very nervous. First interview and I really don't want to screw my chances with this school...

Very relaxing interview. Very conversational and low-stress. Just be yourself. Really, just be yourself.

I'll probably need a place to stay on the 12th too so I can make my plane on the 13th, but the room is $200/night? Yowza

Interviewing Tuesday as well! See you Darr!👍👍👍👍

I had my interview at Georgetown and thoroughly enjoyed my day. Mrs. Sullivan is really friendly and helpful, but watch out!, she'll call you out during the opening welcome (she asked me what my third grade teacher taught me about adjectives... I was taken aback to be put on the spot haha, but got my answer out).

I know everyone has said this, but just relax. I was a little nervous waiting for my name to be called for the individual interviews, but I found as soon as I started talking, I calmed down quite a bit.

Thanks for the advice!

Hmm...I wonder how teaching adjectives came into the opening welcome discussion....

It was $150 at the convention center (with applicant discount), but the taxes were a bit exorbitant. PM me if interested.

Mrs. Sullivan gives a really good speech. Over an hour long, but it never felt that way. One of the best talks I ever listened to in my life.

The Convention Center is really expensive.👎

Question: Did you use all 5000 characters for your essay? I'm at 3000 and I feel it's complete....

Just interviewed.

Speech by Mrs. Sullivan will absolutely let you know whether or not you want to go to Georgetown.

Interview was relaxed and interviewer knew my file very well. Had notes in front of him with specific questions to ask.

I didn't-I think mine was about 3000 too. I'm sure people with both very short and very long essays get interviewed so don't worry about it. As long as you do a good job of showing them you really would like to go to georgetown you'll be fine, good luck!🙂

It's so interesting how different people are. My interview there last year was horrible - my interviewer was disinterested, didn't know my file, started looking at the clock 3 minutes in, and generally made for a pretty bland experience.

But Mrs. Sullivan is an amazing admissions person.

That's what is so frustrating about this process - the random/subjective part of it

My interviewer was a fourth year student so perhaps I was one of his first interviews and he was extra prepared.

so i tried reading through this whole thread and just couldn't do it. how do you know if you're complete at this school? email? status page?

is anyone else having problems with spacing/paragraph breaks for the app essay?

I've heard very mixed reviews on Georgetown (love/hate sort of thing), but I'm definitely looking foward to my interview. Excited simply to check out such a famous school, and to see if I would fit in here.

How did everyone learn that they were "complete" did the status page change to complete or did it just say certified?

you get a complete email. i got mine within 24-hours of submitting app and payment; my LORs were available for months prior.

did anyone encounter formatting areas with the essay on the print preview? lack of paragraph breaks? how do you overcome that?

A lot of schools have this formatting issue in their "preview" page. Most schools have confirmed that when they receive the actual application, everything shows up normally, so there's no need to fret. And even if it does show up with no paragraph breaks, EVERYONE's application will show up like that, so they won't light your application on fire b/c of it.

btw, you asked this question like a day ago, and BlueElmo has answered you twice now... please let him rest and enjoy the holiday weekend.

Did you guys have a long delay between complete email and "complete" showing up on status page?

I dunno what "complete" looks like on the status page, but mine just has green checks next to Application Fee Paid and MD Application Certified. If anyone has anything different, please let me know.

If you received the complete email, I don't think you have to worry about anything.

That's what I have but I just figured there would be some sort of message showing that the app is complete (SLU uses the same system and they did show "complete" so I guess I'm used to seeing that).

ETA: K thanks BlueElmo.

I never got a different looking status page after I submitted (I am complete and have an interview scheduled), so I would just watch your email.

Anyone knows how comprehensive the clinical exposure in preclinical years at Georgetown? What specific programs or classes they have to expose first and second year med students to hands-on clinical experience?

I've been looking for this info on the website but no luck. Can anyone help me with a link?
