Allegheny General Hospital just sent out invites. .

North Florida/South .Georgia.. Veterans Health System sent out notifications yesterday.

I also spoke to a friend who just interviewed with the Navy and Army.....though I think those are on an individual basis, and don't have "set" interview dates.

Just received a "hold" notification from Emory. I guess I'm not getting an interview, but I'm not rejected either...somewhere in limbo!
 
Big goose egg for the past 2 days. Only 1 'business' day left before the 15th notification date. Good luck all!

Wow.....that just raised my anxiety level, as I still have 12 places left to hear from! I'm starting to wonder how everyone is handling the scheduling....as I'm running out of dates because most tend to interview on Fridays, and some on Wednesdays. Come on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday interview dates!!

Just got an invite for an interview at AGH. Hope others did too.

I know, I only have 4 intervies and my Fridays are getting messy already!
 
I am feeling so stressed. Still have only 1 interview and haven't heard from 12 sites!! I am now glued to my email and checking waay too often.
 
got an interview from Park Place Behavioral Health Care, FL!

My friend is in a similar position, she is trying to hang tough (NKotB!!) until she hears back from all of her sites. 12 is a ton, so give it a few more days and hopefully you'll have some better news.

ps. I have Thunderbird (Outlook knock-off by Mozilla) set to refresh every 5 minutes, so I am right there with you. The only issue is I have 5 e-mails associated with it, so I'm jumping at every notification....even though 95% of them are from something else (Delta, Bestbuy, listserv, etc).
 
Hi i am new to participate but follow up the thread for sometime. Thanks for all the important information and for the ability to share this anxiety provoking task. I was wondering about if anyone has some thoghts about the importance of the internship being an APA accredited site. I recvieved an interview invitation from a new VA in NC which i only now realized is APPIC but not yet APA.
any thoughts?
I think that the Park Place in Fl is not an APA site as well...

I am so with you kedmonkey - I'm still waiting on 14 with one invite. I'm sure it will be fine, and Friday and Monday will be a flurry of invites!!

IIRC, that is the Charles George VA Medical Center in Ashville, NC. I have a friend there now, and according to her the site is in the last stages to be APA approved, and should get approval next year. Obviously take that with a grain of salt, but it may be worth asking them about. Traditionally all VA sites are APA approved and only hire graduates from APA programs and internships.....though I know they had a unique situation there of not having approval yet.

As for going to an APA accredited internship.....we had a thread (maybe more) that talked about the implication of APA v. APPIC v. State acred....so if you do a search it should come up. The short answer is you really should only consider APA approved internship sites because they offer the most flexibility in regard to career options, but for some they are not a possibility because of geographical restrictions, etc.
 
Hi. I just wanted to share that I am also waiting for a large number of sites -- 11 to be exact. I'm also feeling nervous, but somewhat comforted that I'm not alone.

Just keep positive. According to the 2008 Match statistics, over 80% of applicants matched to their top 3 rankings. Therefore, if you have three interviews, you will very likely match. I'm sure I'm probably using some flawed logic somewhere in there, but it still might be a helpful reframe 🙂

Yeah... I'm sure we will all be on the phone all day the next two (business) days trying to figure out how to fit all the interviews in 🙂
 
I know the VA's work until 4:30pm (typically), and since most of my sites left are at VA's.....I'm looking at the clock. Neurotic much? :laugh: Hopefully we all can laugh about this in March when we get matched and all of that jazz.

I was right there with you until I got a rejection from a VA yesterday at 5:30 their time. Sounds like the poor admins might be working overtime!

Interview at UNC-Charlotte counseling center. I also just got a phone call from a blocked number. I didn't answer because I'm weird like that - but they didn't leave a message so now I'm regretting that decision...do sites usually leave messages?

Bellevue rejections also went out today.

Anyone waiting on St. John Child and Family Center, Los Angeles?

Do you know if St. Luke's was for adult or child or both? E-mail or telephone? I haven't heard anything from them yet... 🙁

I heard from MUSC a couple weeks ago - they didn't state in their email which track but my preference was Neuro with a secondary General. There were another round that went out about a week after that as well that some people on here mentioned. They do some sort of rolling interview scheduling there...

The Phoenix VA has sent out invitations. I have found no indication that Reno has notified. Not sure about the other 2.
 
Anyone hear from U of Florida (health), Maryland Consortium (health), Montefiore, or CAMH?
 
Argh, I just received an invite but couldn't attend on the days the site had interviews. I asked about a phone interview and they said no. 🙁 I can't believe I'm turning interviews down.

cmuhooligan, I feel your pain. I'm in a similar situation, 3 invites and 6 more to go. The rejections have outnumbered the invites which really sucks! I'm honestly really concerned...Let's hope things get better from here on out.

I applied to all NYC metro areas as did most of my classmates. Some heard from St Luke's as much as a few weeks ago but I still haven't heard either way from them so I think they aren't sending them all on the same day. Unless I get the rejection than I'm trying (emphasis trying) to stay positive about possible offers.
 
Did anyone hear from Oregon Health Sciences University yet?

Well goodluck to us both! I guess what's surprising to me is that of the 3 interviews I have, 2 are at pretty elite programs (i.e., MGH & Boston Consortium), which I didn't necessarily expect. However, some of the less competitive sites I applied to I was a little more surprised to have been rejected from. I think a lot of it has to do with me being very research focused and that turning off some programs (or maybe I'm just trying to externalize my frustration!)

Agreed.....same thing happened for me. I got rejections from at least 2 places that I considered pretty "safe" sites. It wasn't that they were "safety placements", but places I thought I matched up well with.....eh, who knows how they choose.

I've had a similar experience with the invites and rejections. I'm starting to think its more random than I would like to think. Who knows what goes on...?!

I also got rejected by the sites I thought were really great matches for me. In retrospect, I think the problem was they were also very high profile (not prestigious necessarily, but great locations, etc). That's been the hardest to deal with. I'm regretting not applying to a handful of lower profile sites in locations that people don't necessarily gravitate to, but would be fine to live in for a year. 20/20 right?
 
After the rejection email from Bellevue, I got an interview at Trinitas🙂. Win some and lose some...

I had this situation too. I would have thought I'd be a very strong match with a site where I had two externships in similar settings . I felt like I had done virtually everything they were looking for. Oh well. I don't think it's worth trying to figure out why. I plan to move on.
 
grrr. I haven't heard either way from so many places!! I still haven't heard from Bellevue or St. Lukes or many places in the Bronx. And no access to email tomorrow!
