I have not heard from West Haven...

Has anyone heard from University of Miss Med, Albany Med or Northwestern Feinberg Med Schools?

Just as an FYI, I did not get an interview at Northwestern (health track) but they also never sent me a rejection email. This was last year, so I'm not sure if this is how they operate normally. Just thought I'd pass that along.

Hey everyone, I just joined b/c I have some info that may be helpful. Here are the sites I have heard from (I'm child):

Duke - rejection
U of Illinois @ Chicago -rejection
USC school of medicine - rejection
U of Louisville - interview
U of Florida Health Science - interview
Hennepin County medical center - interview
Indiana University - interview
Primary Children's hospital - interview

Haven't heard from
Montefiore, Allegheny, Texas Children's Hospital, MUSC (although others have), U of Rochester, SUNY in Syracuse, Tenn Health Science

Just received an interview with Foundations Behavioral Health, however got a nice rejection from Devereux. It wasn't one of my top choices, but I thought I had a pretty good shot. Interesting thing about this process is I may never know why, so I'll wait until later to ask. Best of luck everyone!

Congrats on the interview and sorry to hear about the rejection Sicologia. I thought that I had a very good shot for Kennedy Krieger and had the same experience so I understand the feeling. I did decide to email them and they basically said that there were 120 people who did not receive an interview and they cannot give feedback to that many people. Hopefully if you decide to conact Devereux, you can get more useful info 🙂

A colleague heard from West Haven (I think an interview) last week.

I have yet to hear back from Cambridge Hospital, Albany Med, SUNY Upstate, Rochester, UMass Med, Hutchings, or St. Luke's.

There seems to be a difference of opinion about whether to email a note of thanks after the interview. Any opinions on this?😕

Our director of training said to send a handwritten thank you note. That's what I'm doing, anyway.

I was told not to send anything by my program. But, honestly, I think it accounts for absolutely 0% of the variance for getting matched.

I didn't hear from a single site today!! 😡
Thanks for the update. Things were seeming awfully quiet given the date. Unfortunately I got my official rejection email from UCSD. Still waiting on others..

Eruca - was it a clinical track or the counseling center?

got an interview!

Well, I think I win for still waiting for the most sites...I'm waiting on 14!!! What gives, people? I know the deadline is the 15th, but still!!

I didn't hear from a single site today!! 😡

That's what I had thought...and then I got a phone call from the Maryland Consortium (SMI and Neuropsych tracks)! At 8:30pm eastern. poor guy...I almost feel bad about him having to work so late.

I wonder if the reason for hearing so late is that they're doing A list/B list interviews. I heard somewhere that some sites interview the first (top) batch and if they're not sufficiently impressed then they move to their B list. Could be why some sites have already sent out invites to some, rejections to others, and have not contacted others. 😕

That's weird. A faculty member at my program said a friend at West Haven VA told her they haven't sent invites out yet.

Anyone hear from the Durham VA site? Still waiting....

Still waiting on Durham VA.

I heard from Columbia today. Rejected by snail mail!

I am sitting here in my office at 9:18PM (on call for interns literally should be called "stay in the hospital all night because we don't trust you to go home and respond to your pager when it goes off." But "on call" sounds cooler I guess) and reading through this thread. I just wanted to lend an empathic "ear" (or computer keyboard). It must be so frustrating to try to figure out what internship interviewers are thinking, how their process works--are they doing this? are they doing that? I know I probably can't write anything that will make you all feel better, but just wanted to put on my best virtual empathic face.

Just crickets here for me today. 😉 It sounds like a fairly quiet day for most of us. To those with invites today, congrats! I can't wait until the 15th, as I keep jumping whenever I hear my cellphone ring. Email is just totally annoying -- lots of junk mail and no invites (although also not too many rejections-- yet).

I think whoever mentioned the "batch theory" of a list/b list might be onto something. I keep seeing folks on these boards who've heard from some of the programs that have yet to contact me. I'm just hoping that a few of the 11 outstanding sites will be invites rather than "dings".:luck::xf::laugh:

Did anyone on here apply and/or hear anything from Illinois Masonic?

FYI...I forgot who else was asking about SUNY Upstate, but I just got an email from them stating it was the "2nd email" requesting an interview and that they had heard no response. But, I'd never received an email (as confirmed by a search of my gmail). The coordinator with whom I spoke was really nice and forgiving, but did mention that they have "several" applicants that have yet to respond to the invitation interview. She said if they didn't hear back they'd move on to their alternate list. She also said she might try calling them. Just thought I'd share...

Congrats on the SUNY Upstate invite! Very good to hear 🙂 I know someone who actually found and invite in her Spam folder! So be on the look out, all!

Interview at Kennedy Krieger and Yale Child Study Center

OK, so a friend of mine just told me that she never heard from 5 of her sites at all and had to call them after the Dec 15th deadline. I wonder if this is common or just really atypical.

Two were state hospitals in CA (one was in Napa) and she can't remember the others. They may not even be APA accredited for all I know, I just wanted to pass on the word.

Has anyone else ever heard of this happening? I hope not 🙁

My info, in case it is helpful to anyone

interviews:
Northern CA VA Boston Consortium charleston Brown West LA VA
rejections:
SF VA cornell Seattle VA Denver VA
waiting on:
portland va
Palo Alto VA
UCSD - trauma cluster

all were trauma-focused if available and if not general adult
Has anyone heard from Portland, the Palo Alto VA, or UCSD - trauma? I guess no news is bad news, but I am holding out hope.

The problem with this theory is that sites likely won't know if they are impressed or not just from the first applicants they invite scheduling their interviews. Maybe they have invited their clear favorites and are now debating about the second tier options. It seems like each site has a different strategy -- some have rolling admissions, some are doing it all at once, and some sites are literally run by the devil, who is intent on our suffering.

Good luck with another day -- I imagine few sites aimed to let everyone know Thursday (not unlike Wednesday), when they can have another day to debate and wait until Friday to ruin our weekends.

I have to agree, I think different sites have different strategies. I just hope that out of the 8 sites I'm waiting on, some of them will be invites even if it is so late in the game. It would be crushing if all of them were rejections!

Thank you for th reminder to check my spam folder.......part of me was hoping I'd find an invite, but then I didn't want to miss an invite because I never got the e-mail. I ended up not finding any, but evidently I have a lot of extended family in foreign countries who were rich and want to share their money with me!!!

I don't really think it's "late in the game" given that the deadline is still 4 days away 🙂 But I like the theory that some sites are run by the devil.

Clap your hands, thanks for the congrats! And that's funny, I know someone who found an invite in her spam folder too. Guess we all need to be on the lookout!

I think its safe to say that all the sites that I got rejections from are run by devils. Those sites that are still holding out are run by devils too, however, I'll change my mind when I get invites from them.

I had a similar thing happen when registering for the match. After a couple weeks without my check even being cashed I emailed them to see what was up and they told me they had sent an email over a week prior. I looked everywhere for it...trash, spam etc, and it was nowhere to be found. Of course the next day I got a paper copy in the mail. 😳

I wouldn't worry about that too much yet - I think some places just haven't sent out invites yet. If other people have gotten interviews there it may be a bad sign, but I suspect it's more of a mix and you'll get a bunch of last minute interview offers!

DrJay9 : On a similar note, I'm waiting on the Palo Alto VA too. I haven't seen or heard of anyone who's heard from them yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have heard from UCSD but it was for the Specialty Mental Health/Neuropsych and I'm pretty sure different tracks go out at different times. You've already got a pretty impressive array of interviews but in any case - good luck!

Thanks psychgrrrl, I appreciate the vote of confidence. 🙂 Let's hope you and everybody else who has been saying that are right.

I think that I've seen posts where people report not be notified/rejected.

I don't think that I will be contacting any of the sites that do not contact me as that would just be me expending sad negative energy that I don't need to conjour up. If they want me - I have faith that I will hear...PD2004 got an invite twice (probably their mistake but this goes to show you they must really like you PD2004!)

I believe that I will just make the best of what I have and try and think positively - not comparing numbers, sites, etc. I will get what I get and go forth and interview.

I can see where you're coming from for sure. I think for me, I spent 100s of hours on those apps, and so I expect some reciprocity in regard to the sites letting me know either way (also recommended by appic). So I'll definitely be calling/emailing the sites I didn't hear from.

Also, last year one of my classmates didn't hear from a site. She called and found out that they had "lost" her contact info. Turns out she had an interview and that's where she is currently interning..
