I don't think there is an actual status page. I did however receive a "completion/app will be sent for review" email so if you haven't gotten that yet I'd keep a look out for it.

I too will take any unwanted invites...👍 Come on Meharry!
 
i wish i could give it to you but this is a good sign because there is more room for you

i was complete the day after they released them i am not sure when that was😍😍

Hi guys,
so Im new 2 SDN. I also have applied kind of late. I applied to 7 MD schools and my primary was processed 9/25. I've gotten back secondaries from all the schools so far and submitted 5/7. My Meharry file was complete yesterday. So how long does it take to hear about interviews?
 
oh yeah, do schools offer interviews based on when your file was complete, or do they just look at all the files that are complete at that time and offer from there?

I've been complete here since 10/9 (waiting on MCAT score) and still haven't heard a word from them...my guess is that it'll be a while for you too. :luck:

Yes, I also applied to Howard. I think these will probably be long-shots since I am non-URM, but I really, really like both schools. I hope I conveyed that well in my secondaries.
 
meharry looks at completed files as they come i completed since aug and just got an invite last week. Alot of people are canceling because meharry started late and most people had several interviews and were accepted so you have a good shot good luck
 
at my howard interview there was a mixed bunch even the diversity was displayed in the school. so u got a shot 😍😍😍

thanks faith2!!! I've seen u on alot of other threads sending out positive energy...lol! Congrats on both ur acceptances, I applied to Nova and UCF too. Im from Orlando.
 
I'm not URM (well, not on paper) and I got an interview invite here. I think it has a lot more to do with your motives/goals in medicine.

Well I was complete 8/21 and didnt receive an interview until 11/2. I got the confirmation for the interview 10/16. Hope this helps LOL
 
I'm here in Nashville now for my interview tomorrow. I like the area, its pretty chill. Nice change from what I'm used to in NYC. Plus, the BBQ down here is where its at! 😍Wow, haven't had bbq like this in years. There is a Halloween party at Meharry 2nite. Too bad I have a long day 2moro and no costume. 🙁 Hopefully tomorrow will be a great day!🙂

Lol, ok. Here is the general day. You get there at either 8 or 10..there are two groups of interviewees. 8am has morning interviews and 10 has afternoon interviews. Mr. Mosley will give you an introduction, little ice breaker and talk about Meharry (he's a nice guy). You have a financial aid presentation and a tour given by a very knowlegeable faculty member. Lunch is with a couple students (MS1-3), where you can grill them about the school. The interviews were all really chill for all of us there. The faculty is really laid back and easy to talk to. Nothing really hard in terms of questions as long as you are prepared to talk about yourself and your motivations. I would say though, the best thing you could do is to contact Mr. Graves and stay with students overnight beforehand. That, I believe, will give you the best perspective and insight on things as I stayed with a student friend and learned a great deal about the school before the interview day from the students in the dorm.

Good idea to stay with a current student. I plan on doing thesame for my interview.

Yea for some reason it was the same with Morehouse. But they do because a student interviewee or two stayed with hosts from my interview day. You need to contact Mr. Graves (the guy that has been contacting us) if you need a place to stay. He's a cool guy, I spoke w him during my interview day for a while.
 
I had my interview yesterday, and it went very smoothly. None of the questions were too difficult and the interviews didn't try to grill you at all (I can only speak for my 2 interviewers tho). Make sure that you know your activities and your personal statement well. I got alot of "tell me about this experience" questions.

Cant really complain, mcat scores came out on oct 12 and i already have 4 interviews lined up. I know meharry requires some kind of thesis so i was a little concerned about that. I would still go to the interview if invited though.
 
I will be interviewing on the 13th as well, sooooo excited. =D
 
Does anyone know how long they take to notify you if u are accepted or not after interview? At least what was the time range for those that are accepted already.

The first interviews were on Oct 30, so I don't think anyone has been notified about their admissions decision yet. However, last year students were notified in about 3-4 weeks. (accepted, waitlisted, or rejected)

Can someone tell me how the interview day is?

From the SDN interview feedback some people say they had 3 different interviews: 2 with different faculty members and one with a panel of students. This was one of the older feedback inputs so it might have changed.

Another person recently said it was a 2:1 interview (GPA/MCAT blind)

how are they doing interviews this year?

Hi Dendrites!

I had my interview on Monday and there is an interview with two faculty members (both of mine were clinicians) and then during lunch there was a student panel where we asked them questions...I wouldn't really call that an interview, because they won't be asking you any questions. It's really a time for you to ask them any questions you have about the school, the curriculum, or whatever. I wanna say that the only thing they have infront of them is your activites and personal statement. Make sure that you know your application well. One of my interviewers asked me something about an experience and I has sorta forgotten about it and I had to think in lightening speed about what it was, while keeping my face together so I wouldn't show any confusion, lol. You'll either interview in the morning (8am) or in the afternoon (1:00). There are two 30 min sessions with your interviewers. ALso, make sure you ask them questions when they ask (I'm sure you already know this though). Let me know if you have any other questions!

thanks for the info!! So it is 2 interviews with the same 2 people? or are there two 1:1 interviews? are they back to back?
 
Hey Dendrites,

It's two interviews with two different people, and yes they are back to back. Basically they assign you rooms, so when you're done in one room with one interviewer, you just walk over to the other one. Good luck with everything, and keep us posted. :luck:

i'll be the one ridiculously excited to be there, praising God, breaking out into song--i'm so happy! but ya, i would like to go to HUCM because i fell in love with the people. i'll interview on the 17th of nov... but you know, you know, you know He gives unto us exceedingly above anything we can ask or think. i'm not trying to limit God. so there i will be enjoying the blessings and thanking God. i'll see you there!!!!!!!!!!! 😀
