They don't accept it. I sent an update but they returned it saying they don't accept "unsolicited materials" from applicants.
 
did you guys receive the change in url email? i really gotta learn to "read" my emails before freaking out! i got excited there for a sec 🙄

LOL, me too. I had been up all night and was a bit tired and thought it said that there was a change in my status...haha.
 
So, some people should hear something tomorrow right?? I know their website says the 9th, but if you're in you find out the day before right?

On a sidenote, did anyone else feel like one of their interviews was a "stress" interview? I had one very pleasant interview and one very aggressive interview. I thought that was weird, but I guess I handled things ok. Would've been nice to have two easy ones though! 😡

Hey statzern... From my understanding on past posts in this thread, those accepted hopefully will hear something tomorrow night. Definitely keeping my fingers crossed! Also... fortunately for me, both my interviewers were stress-free! Goodluck everyone!

You guys are right. I'm almost positive that they make acceptance calls on Tuesday nights before release dates.

Best of luck to those waiting to hear back tonight! Remember, if you don't hear back tonight, it doesn't mean you won't get in, or that you've neccessarily been waitlisted. They may just not have gotten to you.

Has anyone who interviewed in November and is waiting to hear back today/tomorrow had their Application Status updated on the MSU-CHM website? Did it say accepted or rejected?

This waiting game is KILLING me!! 😱

I'm waiting, too. From what I understand, they call on Tuesday not Wednesday....someone correct me if I'm wrong (and I really hope I am considering I was freaking out all day hoping/waiting for a call).
 
I interviewed Nov 12 and still no news. Anyone else from that day hear something?
 
actually I'm fairly certain that all the acceptance calls go out Tuesday night, and they just update statuses (i.e. to waitlist or rejection) on wed. Chances are, you won't hear anything though.
I've been waiting since Oct. 22, at this point I'm praying not to hear anything tomorrow.
 
Does anyone know if the "notification dates" are for all applicants (i.e. will they be sending rejections/invites on notification dates?) or only for those that have interviewed?
 
I believe they are only for final decisions after interviews. I got my invitation to interview on random date, not after a release day.

This is not correct. The calls went out tonight. Tomorrow notifications will go out to those accepted in email and status update form, and those who have been waitlisted/rejected will find out by status update. They do not call on Wednesday.

Do they still notify people of acceptances today then, or just waitlist/rejections...?

The people who got called last night will get emailed/updated, but no new acceptances will be given out, to my knowledge. Around right now those updates should be posted, along with updates of waitlists and rejections. If you haven't heard anything yet, you haven't been reviewed yet.
 
I Interviewed in September, and still have not received any form of status update or call since. Im not sure the order that they review the applications, I hope they haven't forgotten about me!:scared:

The order is completely random. You can get a decision anywhere from a couple days after your interview to a couple months after. They have not forgotten about you. Good luck!

See? I got my call over a month later and statzern got it 5 days later. Random!
 
Does anyone know when the next few release dates are? If I remember correctly there's one coming this Wednesday Dec 16 (meaning calls on Tuesday). Anyone know?

Good luck guys. Don't freak out if you don't get a call sometimes they delay your decision. I got a really nice email from my interviewer, too, congratulating me. Exciting!

Does the delay mean anything (looking for more qualified candidates or something) or is the delay random?

I don't have that level of information but it usually happens for unexpected reasons. Maybe they didn't get to you. Maybe your interviewer didn't turn in their evaluation promptly. MSU has been known to invite candidates back for second interviews if they cannot come to a decision.

Basically, don't make assumptions if you didn't get a call. Call MSU tomorrow and ask, I'm sure they will provide you with more information.

Do you happen to know how they send out interview invitations such as how frequently and when they might be sending them out next? I haven't received any sort of correspondence from MSU CHM beyond "your application is complete and has been forwarded for a preliminary review." :xf:
 
Maybe they are just slow with OOS apps? At least, that's what I'm telling myself.

As far as I know, there's no listed schedule for interview invites. I received mine on October 19 when the closest notification dates, and hence definite adcom meetings, were Oct 22 and Oct 15 - right in the middle.

Well I'm IS. I've only been complete for 2 months, but still, I would have thought I'd have at least a hold by now. Especially when I've heard back from a few schools not in MI that get a few thousand more applicants each year.
 
OOS interviewed in early November. Fingers crossed that we all hear the good news tonight!

Wanted to clarify on the bolded point above. MSU does third interviews, usually by phone, for applicants with one positive interviewer rating and one negative. This happens rarely, as the ratings have to be really different. The decision to offer a third interview is usually pretty quick, as it does not indicate they are considering you for admission yet. There are numbers involved in the interview rating, and they offer another interview if one score is high while the other is real low.
