I feel like whenever you're waiting for something it takes extra, extra long. I've been waiting to hear from Upstate as well and so far nothing. I feel like the same thing is going to happen here.
 
ahhhh

I interviewed the 24th of sept...you think I'll be included in the first round of decisions?

wow, i'm surprised you got it so quickly! i used to (as in, until august) live about 1.5 miles from downstate (in flatbush) and it took my complete letter like 8 days to reach me :laugh:
 
Wait if you're waitlist or rejected, do they send you a snail mail as well in the next few days?

Just received acceptance in the mail today! Also mailed out 10/21, but I live in Brooklyn so it has about 20 minutes to travel. Good luck to those that are waiting:xf:
 
They snail your interview invite?

Why haven't I heard yet!? I applied MD/PhD, decent MCAT and rsch and I live in Bklyn. Heck, I took classes there and did rsch there!

they email interview invites. everything else is done by snail mail.
 
When I was interviewing there yesterday, I saw a HUGE stack of envelopes(I'd guess about ~500), all filled, at the admissions office. It looks like they're not just mailing out acceptances en mass.

so those are waitlist, rejection letters you think?
 
Nothing for me and I live in Brooklyn. It seems other early September Brooklynites have heard back.I guess it's waitlist for me.
 
I called Downstate. A decision has been made on my file. The letter will be sent out sometime next week. :scared:

Edit: It seems they are sending out a bunch of letters next week.

Admissions told me to expect a decision after my interview within 6 - 8 weeks. I guess some here back sooner than that it seems?

When did you interview? They've started notifying September interviewees.

What is the general turn-around for time from interview to notification? Did they mention it for the October bunch?
 
Guys, I got my acceptance mail yesterday!! Postmarked 10/21. I'm from the city. So brace yourselves, your packets on the way!!

I've been using SDN for the application process and I enjoy reading everyone's comments...it's been very helpful.

I just wanted to say that I was accepted to Downstate today. I crept up to my mailbox and slowly opened it to find the large envelope.

I interviewed on September 23rd and my package is dated for October 21st. I am an out-of-state student with a 3.95 GPA and 31P MCAT. I've interviewed at 5 schools and I honestly thought this was by far my worst interview.

I pray that all of you hear good news. I didn't think this day would ever come.

I'm IS with similar stats. I thought my interview went okay and it was around yours (but before). Where the hell is my packet!?! haha It does make me feel better that someone in a similar situation to me got in though.

EDIT: Congratulations also. I tend to forget to say things like that because I figure getting in is congratulations enough.
 
still nothing. i don't know whether to be pissed, or convinced that it's a WL or rejection. :lame:
 
I interviewed on October 1st...you think there's a shot that a decision may be mailed out?

Tomorrow!

I'm going to stay up all night tonight so I'll sleep in really late tomorrow and wake up right when the mail comes. I should probably make sure the post office still delivers on Saturdays, however.
 
Are the waitlist letters being sent with the rejection? because I know someone in LI who got waitlisted, however I haven't heard anything and I interviwed very early. I also live in NY. I fear rejection @_@

for those accepted, what day did you guys interview?
 
Got my letter. They will consider my app again in Spring. wtf.

I still have a ton more interviews but Downstate and Upstate were the places I was really hoping to go because I interviewed so early and they're state schools.

It takes 3-5 days (excluding Sunday) for 1st class mail. I won't count this school out until Tuesday.
