Also, I was complete 8/18, which is fairly late cause Tufts messed up my recs and AMCAS had to re-send everything. Anyone complete during the August time frame get an interview?

From what I can tell -- those complete around Aug 20th are getting invites now and that's the latest completion date so far that's gotten them..

anyone else got them and was complete after the 20th?

I was complete on 8/18 and received an interview. You are definitely not late! SDN is only a small sample of all the applicants and does not reflect the entire application process, so don't worry 🙂

Good luck!

I was complete 8/25, but I'm an MD/PhD applicant. Is Tufts one of those silent rejection schools who keep you in limbo until next summer? I'd love to know that before waiting around like a ***** and still hoping.

it's still only september! a good friend of mine is an md/phd applicant and from what i understand, many schools don't even begin considering md/phd applicants until they also start considering phd applicants (in december). i'm not sure if tufts is one of those schools, but in any case you're going to have a lot of waiting to do for many of your schools.

just to help yall out....

complete 8/18
interview invite 9/3

*regular MD

damn this school is sooo nice!! too bad the COA is over 60K per year :scared:

Does anyone else have any feedback from their interviews yesterday? I would love to hear it!

Yea, feedback would be cool. got my interview next week. need to start preparing.

Complete 8/18, no news. Wah. Any 8/18ers or earlier get rejected? The concept of "silent rejections" is SO %@%#ing annoying, so I wanna avoid checking on the damn status page 40 times a day till March if I can.

Does Tufts do silent rejections? I was complete a little later than you, but have heard absolutely nothing.

Yeah, complete 8/20 and no news either. I'm thinking we should hear something back with the next batch of invites. If we don't, probably not the best sign...

on the Tufts website, they list a timeline for the admissions process which says they send letters of regret to applicants not offered an interview in March. Sounds like they are a silent rejection school until that point, but maybe there is still hope of getting a late interview even if you're complete early in the cycle.

That blows. 👎thumbdown👎thumbdown👎

I don't suppose anyone has any idea when the next batch of invites is due to come out, do you?

here's my experience interviewing at tufts:

1) the school is absolutely amazing. the facilities have been recently renovated so everything looks new and really nice. The admissions staff is super nice. and their match list is really impressive.

2) the interview is really relaxed and open file. Basically just know all of your activities and be able to talk about them. Rumor has it (Based on what other interviewees told me) that there is one interviewer who gives a stress interview. I can't confirm because my interviews were really conversational and relaxed.

also, if you are interviewing in the coming weeks, the dean said we will know back by 10/15 so that's also pretty sweet. Im really impressed by tufts, and its now one of my top choices!

That makes me very nervous!!!

It would be sweet to have one in the bag by mid October.

interview invite this morning as well...oos...complete near end of july i think...

Mind if I ask your stats as well?

Tufts is pretty much my top choice, so I just want to see if it's feasible 🙂

Invite 9/18
Complete 8/10

Invite this morning. Complete at end of July...guess they aren't moving in definite order of completion.

Invite this morning =). I was complete 8/26. OOS nontrad 37O, 3.97cgpa 3.91 sgpa. Thank god they do interviews thanksgiving week because flying across the country for a tues or thurs would be a disaster otherwise.

Invite today! My first one. Complete 8/13, 3.4/31P non-trad.

Does anyone know if this school has student hosting?

Complete 8/10 and no news. Non-trad with MBA (biochem undergrad). 3.85/32S OoS. Hope to hear an affirmative soon.

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if you all might be able to provide me with some feedback on this. I applied to Tufts and I am not quite sure about my chances. So, I am a Biochemistry major and Spanish minor at a small liberal arts school. I have roughly a 3.82 cumulative gpa and the same for my science gpa. I received a 32R on the MCAT (PS:11, VR:10, BS:11). I have served on the board, each for two years, of the pre-health society, biological society, and habitat for humanity and also formed a humanitarian organization on campus. In addition, I have done chemistry research for 2 years and presented at the ACS conference with several publications on the way, received an award for most strongly embodying the ideal pre-med student (poorly worded, but legit), leadership scholar program and freshman orientation leader, medical internship in Zanzibar, hospice internship and lots of previous volunteering, hospital and pharmacy volunteering, ISLP on HIV/AIDS in South Africa, volunteer at a mentally handicapped facility in India, natural disaster relief work in Peru, and several Habitat mission trips in the US. Would these extras help me out or is the MCAT still too low? Sorry to ramble on for so long but I just wanted to get an idea about my chances.

You make everyone else look like bums I think (at least me). Your mcat is plenty high, and your ecs are a little crazy over the top kinda stuff.
It sounds like you just posted that to float your boat, although probably not, just because most people havent saved people in 3 different countries.
EDIT: make that 4

Oh no, I am not trying to gloat at all...I promise. I have never told anyone about what all I have done and honestly I just do not know how well I fare. I was too scared to apply to a lot of big name schools for undergrad schools because I psyched myself out that those who applied were practically perfect at everything. I keep seeing that people with like a 39 on the MCAT and thousands of hours of research and volunteering still get rejected from the schools to which I am applying.

SDN isn't representative of the actual applicant pool, it is usually severely inflated. I would say you have a very high chance at getting in any non-top 20 school. Im not an admissions committee, though.

I really want Tufts, but no love. Come on, I want to visit Boston for the first time in my life.

does anyone know if tufts is pass/fail, and how much time is spent in lecture vs. PBL? Also...is it an organ-based integration curriculum? ive spent an hour on the website and cant seem to find this information!

Pre-clinical work is all pass/fail. Clinical is honors/pass/fail. About 4 hours per day in lecture on average and about 5 hours a week spent in small groups. Plus 3 hours per week interviewing patients.

thanks so much for the help! do you know anything about the curriculum - i.e. is it a block schedule that is organ or system-based?

I feel like this Friday will be a fateful day. I don't know if it will be positive or negative, but based on timing I should be getting some news from them soon.

I've now been complete for a month and no word....

I'm pretty sure I'm in their 'silent rejection, but we'll string you along until March' pile.

Same. I've been complete since late July.
