I received a rejection email but not a "file complete" email.

Rejected today as well. i was 'complete' in that all my materials were in to AMCAS mid august, but i never received an actual "complete" e-mail.
The interview feedback pages say that the interviews are closed-file, but some say that they were asked about things on their secondary.
Do your interviewers have the secondary or nothing at all?

Nothing at all. Maybe the other interview feedback was older and they've changed the policy?
so i sent tulane an email about a month ago asking if i was complete and about 2 weeks later i got a reply (i think from a person) saying i was. then yesterday i got the automatically generated 'you are complete and under review' email . . .
they sure are slow but with every email i get from them i guess i am glad its not a rejection 😕
Good luck girlfriend.
Tulane told me to go **** myself. Oh well. No louisiana for me

I think it depends on who interviews you. My first interviewer knew nothing about me - completely closed-file. Now my second interview was with the Associate Dean of Admissions, so clearly she had read my file. And she interviews a fair amount of people on the interview day (or at least she did my day), so there's a decent chance you'll wind up with one interview where they might touch upon your secondary, but even still, it was only referenced, not dwelt on (at least in my experience).
w000t, got rejected myself, but unlike allenthepimpcowboy I only scored a 28 on my mcat.
For the record, don't stay in Deming Hall. It's pretty gross (hair clump on my pillow--don't peek under the pillow case, BTW, and thin disgusting towels) and inconvenient (airport transit is extra, toiletries are extra, check-in desk isn't 24/7).
For the same price (less after transit is considered), you can stay in much nicer nearby hotels. This area is saturated with hotels!
I don't know of any FQ hotels that have airport shuttles. maybe some of the downtown hotels have them? in any event, the airport shuttle is only $13 one way. buy your ticket at baggage claim
Tulane is awesome. NOLA is awesome. best of luck to everybody interviewing and everybody waiting to hear!
$13?! Mine was like $20 🙁
Anyway, I agree that NOLA is pretty amazing. Parts are pretty much what I imagined and the rest is even better! The density of restaurants/crazy entertainment/bars/sights is pretty intimidating. Plus, the more I read about Dr. Sachs' vision for Tulane, the more excited I get.
you're right. I don't know where I got $13, I must have been thinking of some other airport shuttle. if you have the time and opportunity, explore some of NOLA outside of downtown and the FQ. go check out the Garden District and Uptown. visit the Lower Ninth Ward and see the remnants of the devastation and the beautiful new homes that have been built. and whatever you do, do not leave town without eating an oyster po boy (Acme Oyster House is a fine place to do this). and if your interview is tomorrow, when you fill out your lunch order get the red beans and rice!
And definitely get some beignets and chicory coffee from Cafe Du Monde. 🙂 I love beignets (pronounced been-yays), and definitely start to miss them when I'm away from home for long periods of time. They're pretty inexpensive and filling and Cafe Du Monde is open 24/7!

p.s. Luun, I can't wait to see that movie!!! I feel like a little kid! lol
I will be in New Orleans in a couple of weeks. I have just one free day there, and I wanted to ask you guys what is a "must do" at the city. I am so excited to visit here, but there is too much to do. So if you guys had 24 hours, let me know what the main sites to see are.
And good food/music tips would be greatly appreciated too!!! I'm so excited
Pre-Dinner walk along the Mississippi
Early dinner at a restaurant in the French Quarter - you really can't go wrong
Jazz Performance at Preservation Hall - Doors open at 8pm but get there at 7:30!
Dessert at Cafe du Monde after jazz
Enjoy 😀
Congrats, kia ora! I also woke up to a nice little acceptance email from Tulane. I'm so happy - 1st acceptance. Can't breathe. Partying tonight! Yay!!!
congratulations! I looked at your mdapps and I think I figured out who you are and if I'm right, we interviewed the same day. yay us!
I don't know what the deal is, but every time I'm riding in a metal tube packed with people (train yesterday, plane this morning) I get an acceptance. Thanks, Tulane!!
