Briefly describe the reasons for your interest in Tulane University School of Medicine. (150 Words Max.)

Have you graduated from an undergraduate university? If yes, what have you been pursuing since you graduated? (150 Words Max.)

What was the single most meaningful volunteer experience you have had? (150 Words Max.)
List any leadership positions, in clubs or organizations, you may have held during college. (150 Words Max.)

Please list your hobbies and major non-academic interests (e.g. athletics, art, music, items you collect, genre or favorite author reading material). (150 Words Max.)

I'm sure they're sending them out in batches. I'll PM Shemarty so she can post these

Anyone else love waking up to the sight of a new secondary in your inbox? I know I do. Time to knock this sucker out! Good Luck everyone!

Normally no, but since it's Tulane's I'll make an exception. 🙄

Yep, got mine an hour ago! Same questions as last year, except there are word limits(150) this time around

I got it half an hour ago. Just submitted.

They are exactly the same as last year:
Have you graduated from an undergraduate university? Yes No

Name of University

oops didn't realize someone else had already posted them!

Yay secondaries. I still have to write about my volunteer experience and why I want to go to Tulane, but that shouldn't be too hard.

Hey, is it new this year that Tulane is accepting fee waviers? I thought I heard before that they didn't, but it looks like they do now.

fee is reduced from $100 to $50

aww, they got rid of the speciality question, I had a good answer for that one.....

I haven't received the secondary. Do they send them out in batches? Are you sure they don't screen? I'm OOS I have good stats

I didn't get one either. I submitted my amcas June 3 🙁

This is really bugging me. I'm ready to submit, but I can't because of that damn permanent email field.

Edit: I called, and they said to go ahead and submit.

"List hobbies/interests..." - it says list, so are you guys making it like a grocery list or picking a couple and describing them? I would hate to just put, "I like to hike, read, etc." But if that's what they want when they say list.

Are you guys leaving the what have you done since graduation blank (if you haven't graduated) or are you putting in what you've been doing since the end of the semester?

I picked a handful, bullet pointed them, and described them. Good compromise, yeah? I wasn't really sure either, but I felt weird just listing one word activities without any real insight.

I didn't get this secondary either! I was complete on 6/4 I think. I got it last year. Hmmm 🙁

I got mine this morning so they're sending em out slowly but surely

Correct me if I'm wrong: if you apply for the MD/MBA then you shall not be considered for the Regular MD Program

I couldn't find this question specifically on the website so where better...

Hey guys, first of all, ya'll post a lot and that has helped me with a bunch of questions, so thanks! Keep up the good work.

I was wondering what kind of things are used as leadership activities. And how many, more or less do each of you have?

I think I only have one, leading freshman on outdoor orientation backpacking trips, and I feel kind of like I should have more. Ideas? Thanks.

Well I can't really give you ideas for your own, but I've got quite a few from student orgs. But I'm basically obsessed with student orgs. Just think about all your involvement and see what you have been a leader in (trained someone, organized something, led a team, etc.)

Anyone figure out how to access their status page? Since I applied to OSU, which uses the same system, the user/password fill in automatically for me and I get OSU's status page.

Same here except with a different school.

Also, how did you guys pay the application fee? I submitted, but never paid.

I think there was a button on the submit screen... not sure how you can get back to it.

Haha sorry for the most useless post ever.

What was the single most meaningful volunteer experience you have had? (150 Words Max.)

So I don't feel like answering this question, because there are way too many essays on the application. Can I just say that I can't answer this question because the places where I volunteered made me sign confidentiality statements, so I can't reveal any patient information and others?

Um, you could, but I think that's a bad idea. They aren't asking you to divulge patient information, just why it was a meaningful experience for you.

Did I get screened out here? Do they screen?
