Can someone please tell me approximately how long after your acceptance email it took the letter to arrive? Sorry I've been a bit nervous, just b/c on the email they said you have a week to decide, and I'm worried what if it gets lost in the mail or something :scared:

It took like maybe 3 business days (?)
You're freaking out over nothing - if it takes more than a week just give them an email and let them know.

Wow...FINALLY got a "complete" email (like 2 months later..). I really like this school and would love to get an invite but I know it's really late in the cycle so I won't hold my breath. NOLA is great congrats to all of you that already have acceptances and/or interviews!

Same here. I was somewhat surprised, given it had been completely mute from them since I submitted way back.

you'd be surprised. I got a last minute invite on like Nov 8th for the 16th and now I am in!

wow congrats!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed...I had just been waiting for the rejection email at this point lol. I know someone that just got a 2 month tardus complete email and then a rejection email a couple days later so I thought that was what it was when I first saw it :scared:

Does anybody know how Tulane sends out rejection/acceptance letters? Is it via snail-mail or email?

email I believe...I know someone in both categories and they both got an email. Obviously you receive something snail/mail for sure if you got accepted. I'm not sure if they waste stamps on rejections if they already notified you via email.🙁

I believe interviews are only via snail/mail however right?

hey bubbles . . didnt i just see you in the uic thread? 🙂

i am really hoping to hear from them too. Got a complete email a while ago. I am disappointed that all my interviews so far have been local . . . i'd like to have the option to go somewhere far away. Tulane in particular. are they just slow? is there still hope? congrats to those of you who are in!

haha shh!😎 I see you lots of places lol...congrats on MCW btw

Hi kids,

If there is anyone interviewing or has recently interviewed at Tulane, my advice is that you send Dr. Beckman a post-interview email if you really want to get accepted there. She told us this during my interview day, that they expect to hear how much you liked Tulane if you want them to really consider you for admission. This seemed to work for me since I got accepted! 😉

Don't know how much of an effect this has pre-interview...but it can't hurt!

Good luck!

I just received my complete email as well

I submitted mid-September, sent an email at the end of sept asking if they received all my stuff, got a response saying my application was complete on 10/27 but I just got another more official email saying my application is complete

weird..lol

Yea sorry. I'm just worried about that one-week period that I have to get back to them, b/c I don't want them to drop my acceptance or something. And thanksgiving break is coming too. But I should relax 😀

I just got a complete email today and I submitted my app sometime in September as well. I don't think it could hurt you. If it means nothing to a school they will just throw it away/file it or whatever...some schools like to see that you're still interested and encourage update letters

Ahhh, dreaded acceptance range. I wonder if we'll really have to wait till march to hear anything..

ok just got the complete mail as well. Should I be sending them in a LOI too? I am interested in joining them.

Finally complete.... again. Just got a 2nd notice after receiving one on 11/3 as well as a response to an email I sent at the beginning of October. I kind of feel sorry for the admissions office. They're either incredibly understaffed & overworked here or totally incompetent.

I got the email today too. Sorry I'm lazy, but could somebody tell me what the general time frame is before I hear rejection/interview? Thanks!!!

Got the complete email today as well.

It took so long.....

Declined my offer of acceptance today, hope this helps! Good luck to all of you :-D

Why would we have to wait till march?

anyone know when Tulane's class normally fills up for the year?

You didn't interview yet, right?

Well, post-interview...you will receive any of the three statuses:

acceptance range, acceptance, rejection.

If you are in the acceptance range, you probably won't hear back from them until March. You might, but I highly doubt it, based on previous years' thread. Tulane will probably begin actively reconsider acceptance range people after they have finished interviewing everyone. And I'm in the acceptance range.

Thanks for the info...so, its a waitlist basically.

Q still stands about when their class fills. Thanks

Well, Tulane insists in their letter that this is not a waitlist, that people in the acceptance range will be actively reviewed and given acceptances throughout the season. But they also stated that most movement in the acceptance range will occur in March-May.

And sorry, I don't know when their class will be full. But given the number of people who're on the acceptance range (the great majority), I think that you'll definitely be interviewing for places in the class.

does tulane reject post-interview?

i feel like everyone on sdn has been accept or acceptance range.

But, of course, this is SDN

Hey all, fellow acceptee here! Quick question...i'm 95% positive that im going to attend tulane next year, what happens if i pay the 500$ deposit now, can i withdraw my app say in april and attend school B or is this binding? My understanding is that if i pay the 500$, then it becomes non-refundable, but i can still withdraw and attend another school.

Should I call or send in an updated later?

I completed the secondary around october 12, and haven't heard anything about being complete. Also, over this thanksgiving break I am going to shadow a doctor (shadowing is the only thing I don't have on my resume...).

Just wondering how I should let them know I am still interested and continuing to build my clinical experience...

From my interpretation, it seems you pay the $500 dollars only if you are CERTAIN you are going here. That's how it sounded at least on the letter.

Why not just accept the offer? And pay later even if you are sure you are attending. Just in case. That's what I did.....

I am pretty sure that before I emailed Dr. Beckman (prior to interview) they were like "who is this chick"...so I say GO FOR IT!

You don't have to give them one until May 15th. So why the rush...your spot is already reserved!

Haha, I totally jumped the gun on that. For some reason I thought you had to do the deposit to hold your spot within a week (this is the case at some other schools), but I reread the letter and that doesn't seem to be the case.

Are we suppose to get some sort of a confirmation or response back after we have sent our email accepting their offer?

haha I got one 8 minutes after I sent mine...on a sunday night....at 11 pm.
So basically...any time.

Yea I haven't gotten mine back yet, but since it's Thanksgiving week, I'll probably call just to make sure tmrw.

nah, just pay the deposit at/near the deadline in May. this way, if your plans change you are not out $500. and in the meantime you can generate some interest on the $500 (it won't be much, but money is money). the $500 is credited twd your tuition if you do end up matriculating at Tulane

yay Tulane!

have ya'll gotten anything after the offer acceptance reply? I feel like I should be filling out tons of paperwork or something so it feels really legit. I guess I still feel like I'm dreaming...

I'm anxious to move down there! I can't wait to get out of Durham...

They said they would be sending stuff periodically. But I doubt they will send paperwork now as few people for sure know what school they are going to... I'm not too sure though

Thats funny....I am aching to get to Durham lol
But if NOLA it is for me-I will be ecstatic!

NOLA has drive thru daiquiri stands, obviously it is the right choice for everyone... Congrats to all those accepted and hope to see you soon!

 Obviously a reason to pick a school. I will admit though, New Orleans and most of LA have very different laws about alcohol than the rest of the country.
