I assume they booked up all interview offers already, since the last decision date is in mid-April and they usually give you a month notice before your interview date... sorry... that's all I know.

I am not sure how I feel about it. I always liked the idea that the DMC was non-profit and that they helped the undeserved in Detroit, etc... but reading the free press today, I saw that the DMC is now going to be for-profit. According to the article, Vanguard, the company that bought out the DMC, will "maintain the charity-care commitment and all of DMC's current facilities for at least 10 years" and how the DMC board of directors will donate ~ $140 million to the hospitals... But on the other hand, I heard if the DMC wasn't sold, it wouldn't've been able to support itself in the future. Correct me if I'm wrong.
 
Didn't you interview like in January, and you are STILL going on about it!!!

My stats aren't too great - 3.55 GPA, 29 S but my letters and volunteering are top notch (over 2000 clinical hands on patient experience). I just thought since I made it to the interview, that was a good thing? That meant I had a shot?

Well I have been on the wait list so it's not so bad, at least I'm not rejected :laugh:

Another decision date is coming up....
I don't know about you guys but for me the last week of every month has been the most exciting because of these decision dates.

Wow this interview I had today was the most chill interview I've ever had. I interviewed at VCU and thought that was relaxed but this was even more so. The questions were really straightforward and all came from the questions I saw on the SDN Interview Feedback page. By the way, I was told that after the March acceptance day, the next day for acceptance is May 5th, not late April. Hopefully I'll see some of you people next year as M-1s.

I wonder why they would change it from late April to May 5? Oh well...just more time left waiting...
 
I could barely sleep three hours last night even with being medicated for wisdom teeth removal. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!! Hope everyone gets good news today =)
 
Sigh...these days have become less hopeful each month...no change, no change, no change...quit taunting me Wayne!

And with that, I've probably jinxed myself into a rejection.😡

I don't think they're going to reject you at this point. Or me. They'll keep giving us "No Change in Status" emails until May 15. After that we'll have the option of joining their extended waitlist and could hear anytime after that (up until the first week of classes).

Personally, I find such a system very disconcerting, although to be fair, EVERYONE does it, not just Wayne.
 
I don't know...I actually from now to 5/15 they are going to take more of us off the list. This is because people are starting to withdraw more and more from schools and settling on where they want to go. I doubt everyone will wait until 5/14 to decide, as the time nears, more and more will decide.

This means more withdrawing from Wayne's waiting list and more people withdrawing their acceptances. So that should be good for us!!!!👍

Don't be nervous, as long as it's not a rejection! Scary to think they can still reject you at this point.

Can they really still reject you at this point? After you've been waitlisted? I'm pretty sure they give you a ranking and that number sticks with you through the rest of the process.
 
This is my first time going through this end of month experience since I just got interviewed 3 weeks ago.
This is nerve racking !!!!!! if I'm awake I'm thinking about it. If I'm sleeping I'm dreaming about it. So I couldn't escape it. And it's already 11 am. And no email.
Anybody anything ???

nothing yet. it shouldn't be much longer. it seems to almost always be sent out before noon

I think I read that somewhere that each decision round they can accept you, no change, or reject you. I think I read it from a letter they sent me. Either way I don't think the third option occurs frequently but knowing that it is an option is scary.

The things we all go through during this process. Some would say we are crazy. Maybe we are. I'm convinced that this whole process has caused me to sprout a couple premature gray hairs at the least.

Yeah it will be here soon! Usually comes around 11-12.

Ugh...just thinking about that makes me queasy...that was a month of my life that I don't remember :laugh::laugh:

That month scarred me for life ..... and now these past few hours are making the scar bigger :scared:
 
Just add 2 years of reduced life waiting for MCAt, Admission apps, then USMLE scores, Residency apps, Board scores to your 200K for medical education 😀

i remember them saying that if we didn't hear by 2pm we could call and check.

Dude can you blame us though?? I don't think i have been through anything this stressful in my life. Hope we get some good news today so we don' have to do this anymore.
