Yea, I don't think they'll "space it out" per say. I think its in Wayne's best interest to fill up their class as quickly as possible. Just like Wayne (although not the same degree) other schools will be getting withdraws from the weekend, so they too will be accepting students off the waitlist this week. So lets say Ilvcurst is waitlisted at U of M (play along ilvcurst) and a spot opens up today, Ilvcurst will accept it, then notify Wayne State today or tomorrow that you are withdrawing. So then Wayne will pull another student off of the waitlist tomorrow or Wednesday. So, I don't think they'll be spacing it out, but I'd imagine that there will be a decent waitlist movement throughout the week and into the next 2 to 3 weeks. If this year is like the past, after the first week of June, the WL movement seems to die down.

Just called here is what the lady told me:
Class was full as of Friday, but people are still withdrawing. So just this morning like 3 people withdrew. They are probably going to hand out acceptance towards the end of the week once they have more people withdrawing. Depends on how many people withdraw, if a lot then they will hand them out as they get them.
There is not a separate list for IS and OOS but they replace the applicants that withdraw. So if an IS applicant withdraws then they replace with another IS and so forth.
There are 2 full drawers of applicants so ~200 people. They won't tell us what part of the list we are on, upper half or lower half.
I think that was about it!

Well the admissions lady said no there isn't, but they replace withdraws with the same type of applicant.

If their replacing withdraws like that, then I think we can consider it two different lists, you know? If it was strictly one list, they would just accept the next highest score, regardless of residency.

Yes, I hope we can all celebrate our acceptance, and this nerve-wracking experience waiting for an offer will be funny!
So because I am Canadian, would I have to wait for another Canadian to withdraw to get their spot, or would I just have to wait for an OOS applicant to withdraw? I hope its the latter!

Why doesn't someone call and ask how many people have withdrawn since May 15th? Would be good information.
That's a good idea, I nominate YOU! Hahah, and whether or not they are going to, or have sent out emails today.
Ok, so I am very impatient, and here is the information I have gathered today. The admission specialist is out of the office until Wednesday, and no offers will be made until she is back in the office and reviews the withdraws and how many spots need to be filled. Also, they aren't sure how many people have withdrawn since Friday because most of the emails are sent directly to her, so they will not have a clear idea of how many people have withdrawn until she gets back.

Ya I got something to this extent to. She basically said that they are going to be handing out acceptances at the end of this week. She didn't tell me why but it seemed like they needed time to get together and figure out how many spots are open.
So the 3 people that withdrew this morning basically called her at admissions and withdrew but it doesn't seem to include all the ones over the weekend if they are emailing this "admissions specialist".
Anyways heres to waiting some more 😴

I find the people in the office to be always very friendly and patient!
Well they are evil too for not telling us where we are on the list
It's annoying that we have to resort to "evilness" in order to get information out of the admissions office.
But now at least we know that there is no use of stressing today or tomorrow. So everyone can relax for 2 days and hell can start on Wednesday.

I'm too scared to piss them off. I'm worried if I complain they'll say "well eff you we don't want you anymore" lol. I'm on two other waitlists but no acceptances ...blahhhhhhhhhh

So yesterday was a total FAIL in terms of WL movement...let's hope today will be much better....although most likely it will be have to be after W.
I think the reason why they don't tell us our rank is because of the class size. Imagine if all 200+ people kept calling to inquire about where they are on the list like every week, it would drive them crazy!!!!

Yeah, except for if the people in spots 100-200 knew that they were there, they would probably not call again! I think it is having the opposite effect and I just want to call more for not knowing.
I am on another wait list that gives you the "third" that you are in and they basically tell you that if you aren't in the top third, your chances get much slimmer. It is very nice to know where you are so you have realistic expectations.

Ya you definitely have a point! I mean they don't have to tell us our exact ranking but like a general ideal for example 1/3 is good!

I have to say that with the information gathered yesterday, today has been a MUCH less stressful day than yesterday. So far, I have been able to check my email without any big expectations, or panic attacks as it loads. But I still have this feeling that something COULD happen today, and we were told this little fib about her being out of the office till Wednesday to give them a quieter day in regards to phone calls.
I was thinking about it and I just wish we knew how we (as in...SDNers) are perceived by the adcom. They obviously dont know who we are on the list, but they clearly know that these forums exist and I am sure we are 90% of the calling that goes on fishing for information. I feel like they get really frustrated with us, but at the same time they HAVE to understand the position that we are all in. Especially those who are only on waitlist(s) and have no acceptances.

I doubt we get any news today, especially since its already noon. It seems like all of the waitlist offers have happened at or before noon. I think/HOPE we can expect something tomorrow, probably late morning/early afternoon. If this mysterious admissions lady comes in around 9AM, processes a few withdraws, accepts a few students... I'm guessing it wont be until at least 10AM. But hopefully they aren't sanbaggin sons of bit*hes (I'll give you a dollar if you tell me what movie that's from) and wait til Thursday. But with your stats Michifiji, I doubt you'll have to wait much longer. I bet this is your week.
