so my complex caught fire today. 3 units down from me. my place is ok.
weird thing is, after knowing no one was hurt and my place was ok, i was most concerned with the mailman not being able to deliver the mail because my place is closed off by the fire department.
so i called san antonio. I got in!

This waiting is killing me! Come on Houston!

Has anyone heard from Houston? I am still thinking they will wait several more weeks. Hopefully, some will drop Houston in favor of being recently accepted into SA...hopefully...

ACK same boat as you.. checking and rechecking my email.. i even go through my spam box just in case
there was someone out there who interviewed on Feb 2nd.. i forgot the name
did Dr. P say ANYTHINGGGGGGG at all as to when the next batch of emails are going out? I asked him this at my interview (Dec 15) and he said no specific date but check after Jan 6th.. which there was no news till Jan 20th so i guess nobody knows nothing

Yeah me too... Did you apply to the Baylor summer predental program? My summer will be 100% dedicated to improving my DAT score.
 
So i graduated from college last may. but am taking some post bachelors classes in anticipation of maybe having to apply again. I found out I was accepted. I don't need these classes anymore then and would like to save money with a refund. It will show "withdrawn" on my transcript but does it matter now? I have my degree and the dental school prereqs.

Could you possible update us when you receive the actual letter/phonecall about your admission? I want to gauge if I'm in or out...and I'm too scared to call in!!

sure thing. on the phone call they said "have you read your email yet?" I told them I havent gotten anything. and he said I should receive an email and letter in the coming days. It wouldn't take any time to receive an email after they send it, so emails haven't been sent out yet I guess. I'll check my mailbox when the fire department lets us back into our complex. For all I know, maybe the mailman might not deliver until its cleared.
 
Oh email! I'm surprised! Anyways, thanks again LP for the info and congrats.

😀 It would be great to hear if anyone else receives the email too! I gotta figure out if I need to head back to the drawing board.

You should direct your question to the ds where you were accepted.
 
for those who have recently heard good news from san antonio, when you receive your email, can you please post the date that you must respond by to confirm your acceptance? I would like to know if/when there might be a third round..i called today and they said my application is "pending"

So it looks like SA was going to send out a second round, but delayed it? I know of at least ten people including a few on this board who are waiting to hear and heard nothing! I don't quite have it in me to call up and ask my status.....yet.

yeah. i found out by calling but am still waiting for the letter and email.
 
Any other third time applicants out there who got an interview?? What's the probability of getting rejected after third time applying and getting interviewed twice??

Hard to say....don't think it would be too likely if you have been talking to the schools and asking what you can do to improve your chances.
 
got the actual letter today. i have to reply by the 12th.
 
add me to the baylor rejection train...my second rejection from them without interview. i would call them, but they'll just tell me to "take more bio classes". based on my experience from applying for 2 yrs, that pretty much means you got no chance. anyways...anybody hear from SA or HOU?

Yeah that sucks, what's crazy is may is just around the corner and we'll be starting this process all over again...
 
yeah dude, i mean less than 3 months and we gotta start fillin in our grades and sh$% all over again!!! oh well, guess we have experience on our side. what do u have planned as a backup if u have to apply again?

Well this past cycle (the one that's finishing up now) I really just applied for the heck of it. I don't graduate until December so I applied with pretty much just the prereqs and the DAT done. This year I plan on retaking the DAT, I'll have more upper level bios, and a degree! Here is my plan:

Plan A: Get into one of the 3 texas schools. I also plan on applying to Louisville and USC, maybe more, I'm waiting on my ADEA book to come.

Plan B: Try for the Baylor post-bac

Plan C: Mimick the Baylor post-bac on my own and apply the next year.

hey shans..don't worry too much! i interviewed there Dec 8th and have been patiently waiting for any news..its all in your head..get off these forums and fill your time with family, friends, hobbies..there is still plenty of hope for the upcoming weeks..the cycle is not over until you get accepted or a rejection letter~😎

I will not be volunteering on 2/14/09. What is going on? I have not heard anything about volunteering. I live in Austin and I am married. So I do not think my wife would appreciate me driving to Houston on the weekend after just returning from a mini-vacation with my guy friends 😀. Lol finally got my rejection letter from Baylor. Took them long enough.

From all the info posted it seems like the next round will go out after Feb 12 for San Antonio and Feb 20 for Houston. Hopefully we will all hear some good news in the following weeks.

When did you interview with houston. I had mine in feb, and dr.p said that there's no exact date that they sent out letter, however since most accepted Lukcy bastards:laugh: wait untill the last minute which is Feb20th to drop out an offer, they are going to send out the letters on feb 20th most likely..... There's no def ans, or date.
 
** UTDB - the deadline to accept offers for second round is February 20th. i think it's going to take the school a couple of days after the deadline date for the school to sort things out and send out, perhaps, enough acceptance emails to fill up 84 seats? so check your inboxes near the end of February to early March for good news! =)
