The same stuff happened to me too and I am applying EDP! I sure hope they get it straightened out! Im going to call up there tomorrow.
hey all!
I have a question about the awards sections. Would you list honor societies under awards or ECs? Also, what about deans list. I know under amcas you can list all of the years in one. With aacomas, you would need to list them all individually i think, which seems a little redundant to me, and not impressive enough to warrant 6-8 separate spaces.
What did everyone else do?
i sent an email to them asking about it. i had 4 work exp and 1 ec too.
Put Honor Societies under awards...once you are inducted, chances are you don't do much (unless you became an officer, then you can list it as an EC and award, I guess).
As for hours/week, just estimate if you don't have exact numbers. My records were thrown out from one of my hospitals when they moved to a computer based system, but I knew I did roughly 40-50 hours each summer for 4 summers. I split the difference and put 190. For medical missions, you can probably put 8-12 hours/day for however long you were there (just don't put 24/day). Again, estimate. As long as you can talk about the projects intelligently, they aren't going to question your hours.
If you did research, where do you put that? Under extracurricular? Or wait until the secondaries?
Just got verified, but now I do not see my GPA's listed anywhere. Am I just missing it?
Does this mean they will resend the apps to schools?
Anyone know when secondaries are supposed to start coming??
New Question:
Where do I enter shadowing experiences? In the "Extracurricular, Volunteer, Community Service" section? Or do I not enter it at all (is it assumed through my rec. letters)?
Thanks all! 👍
I have a question:
Do schools need the required LOR's (1 DO + 2 professor LOR's) before sending us secondaries?
Finally submitted the damn thing! 15 schools total. Now I get a little breathing room until secondaries, which I'm expecting to be a bitch.
I forgot to add spaces to indent my paragraphs with the extra characters I had on the personal statement but oh well.

I didn't indent. I just spaced the essay by pressing enter twice. I don't think they really care. Then again I only had like 3 extra characters so it wouldn't have helped much to try to indent for me.
I'd suggest starting on your secondaries now though personally. I know I've already started mine. I'd rather have the wait after I submit the secondary waiting for an interview than have to freak out trying to get secondaries in quickly once they do start coming.
In another thread (I think in pre-allo) with tips for writing the PS, it said not to indent your paragraphs - just hit enter again so there is a blank line, so I think you are good. 🙂
It also had other tips to save characters, such as only hit space 1X after periods because no one would notice. I'm glad I read it before I wrote my PS.
Haha cool, I was afraid I'd be one of the few that didn't indent.
Did you just find the prompts on the school websites?
[EDIT]^^Cool, I feel a bit better now.
People space more than once after periods? I did not know this lol
To anyone curious, I just emailed AACOMAS and they said they were currently looking at 2-3 weeks to verify an application after it has been submitted.
No, the letters will be requested when you get your secondary and I'd actually advise against sending them sooner. Some people have reported problems with schools losing their letters when they sent them before their secondary.

Hello
I have a question regarding the AACOMAS Grade. I did read the detailed instructions about entering coursework; however, I am still a bit confused. From the AACOMAS instructions, it says
"If your institution uses this grading scale, choose the appropriate grade from the Letter Grade Format. If the "+" grade has a value of "0.5" at your institution, you need to reflect the "0.5" numeric value for "+" grades only in the AACOMAS Grade column. Enter the numeric grade for plus grades (e.g. 3.5, 2.5, or 1.5). Enter letter grades for all other grades."
My question is, how do I know if the + grade has a value of 0.5 at my school?
Also, if I received an A+ in a class, should I just list the AACOMAS grade as an A, or do I need to just type in 0.5?
Please, if anyone could answer this, I would greatly appreciate it.
