Thanks a lot for your help spezimdoc, I really appreciate it! 🙂

Anyone hear yet? Today is 8 weeks since my interview, and I'm still with a member of the committee - haven't gone to the ad comm yet - really hoping to get good news for my birthday which is fast approaching 🙂

Mine still says "your interview has been scheduled, if you showed up, please allow 6-8 weeks for a decision"

Am i looking at the wrong place or did my status just never update?

I just called the admissions office, as it's been over 8 weeks at this point (interviewed nov 16) He asked me my AMCAS ID and told me that my file is with the ADCOMM and I would most likely hear after next Thursday (the next day they convene)

That said - I am both excited and anxious - hopefuly and dreading - Drexel was such an awesome campus, environment and I really enjoyed Philadelphia and the students I met there

I interviewed on 12/7 and today my status finally changed from "your file is under review by a committee member" to "under review by the admissions committee."

Those of you who already got decisions, how long did you have to wait after your status changed to this?

Thanks :luck:

Also, do they send the decision letter to your permanent address or your preferred address? My permanent address is with my parents, but I don't want them to be the ones opening the letter...

I think someone said the next time the committee meets is next Thursday. If they get to you, you'll have another online status change to a decision/final decision has been made. Once that change occurs, look for snail mail in ~2 weeks. Unfortunately, I can't speak to the address, I kept my parents' address as my preferred address since I was moving so the letter went there. I did update my address after my acceptance and I've now been getting correspondence at my preferred address.

Got a "final decision" status change today. I guess the ADCOM must have met yesterday. Fingers crossed :xf: its acceptance!! I fell in love with Drexel!! 😀

I am in the same boat. I interviewed on Dec 6th, but my status has not ever changed since getting the interview.

it depends on your interviewer and how soon they submitt their report.

you're on about the same timeline as me though. it took a little over a month to be under review by the committee.

so i havent really been following the drexel thread but i'm wondering if anyone's heard of this one before because i was kind of surprised to get it. i called today after being complete since early september and not hearing anything. they said my file hadnt been read yet (i had months of no decision status). then on a whim i just checked it and it says 'Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision.'

ohhh drexel you kill me. i was in their IMS program last year got and a 3.5, got the guarenteed interview ultimately did not get accepted and now they put me on hold for re review??? has anyone received an interview after getting this status?

I got the pre-interview hold today. Third one so far, and the second this week.🙁

If you got the preinterview hold.. is there still a chance at Drexel? I hope so..

ugh I don't think they are. I checked Drexel's thread I believe from the past 2 years and I didn't see anyone mention the hold went to interview invite. Sorry and gl! I forget Drexel awhile ago, after months w/ my secondary they placed me on hold a little while ago.

do they silenly reject ive been complete since the end of september and no word

You check the status page. Usually they update there. they don't send email notifications when its been updated.

U go to the email where you got the secondary application and sign in the thing the same way. there's a link that says status update, and then you have to click on that and sign in again and then click on the thing that fall 2011-2012.

Then you see the decision and it will say

No decision yet

or

something about being re-reviewed later. (this is Pre-interview hold).

I'm in the same boat, and I check the website compulsively. I had a complete application in September and sent an update last week.
Its really frustrating when people in October are hearing something and I haven't.

yeha ive been checking like crazy still no decision. has anyone thought about calling and asking whats up or they not receptive?

I'm stuck with "no decision," too. I called recently to ask if they were still giving out interviews (which they are), but I was too chicken to ask about being stuck at no decision specifically. If you call, please let us know!

Ha I did the same thing. I called to make sure they received my update letter, but couldn't bring myself to ask if they've even looked at my application yet.

Maybe tomorrow.

This is so frustrating!

I called last week and dude said my app was in front of the ADCOMM and they'd be meeting next Thursday the 20 - BUT my online status still says "with a member of the committee and will be brought to committee shortly"

SO I called the office and this woman said "Your status is a live status, if thats what it says, thats where it is..."

UGH it's been 9 weeks today, interviewed on Nov 16 - I really like this school...Should I email the guy I interviewed with? Ask him whats up?

I would not recommend this, FWIW.

Yeah, need to reiterate this. That would not be a wise course of action.

You need to remain calm and be patient. When people hear back is dependent on when their interviewers submitted their reports and when the adcom gets up to you in que. What's done is done, so don't harass your interviewer, let alone clerks and secretaries at the school. I'm at the same time frame as you, but personally, I decided to stop checking my status after I saw that I was under review with the committee before the new year. I will find out my fate when my letter is at my doorstep.

Que sera sera.

As frustrating as it is, I think you have to back off a bit on your investigations for the time being. It's perfectly okay to inquire, but at this point I think you've received all the information anyone can give you.

I would advise against contacting your interviewer. You should only contact them to thank them in the days after the interview, beyond that there really shouldn't be any direct contact between the two of you, IMO.

Just try to relax (if that's possible). There are a lot of factors that determine when your decision is made... the number of applicants they need to review, whether or not your interviewer fills his/her reports out promptly, and the availability of the committee members at each meeting.

It's painstaking, but you've got to be patient.

👍 Dude, I really wish I could be like you, but I can't stop obsessively checking my status.

I was like this too but when my status went from "a decision" to "your interview has been scheduled" twice, I gave up and waited for the letter. It sucks, they are notoriously slow, but the time frame means nothing in terms of acceptance/rejection. Good luck 🙂 chillax, k ?

o.o it did that twice? It worked out in the end though - congrats on your acceptance! 😀
I guess I should just wait then, since I probably still have months to go!

Good luck to everyone waiting and congrats to those who have received good news 🙂

Yea, 9 days after my interview I had "a decision" and thought I was waitlisted. then it went psychotic haha. I called a few times, pointless. But yea. it worked out (which is why it's easy for me to say chill) but I can understand why its hard to actually do that.

Exactly for this reason is why I'm not checking anymore. I will find out when the letter comes. Why get myself disappointed if I see the alleged waitlist status or become even more anxious with the alleged acceptance/reject status? I'm anxious for sure.. but its out of my control now. I loved the school when I was there, hopefully I made that clear during my interview and in my update letter, but other than that the ball is in their hands now.

I feel your pain--I posted about this earlier in this thread, but basically I interviewed in September and may very well be the only September interviewee left who has yet to hear anything. When I hit the 9 week mark I emailed the office and received no reply. Every time I called I got the voicemail so eventually I let it go. I finally got an email response from them last week saying my file went to the committee, and just TODAY my status changed to "a final decision". It took 16 weeks for that to happen.

My point is: don't let this drive you too crazy. I've heard people getting "final decision" statuses 4 weeks after interviewing, and then there's me, who got one after 4 months. It's a crapshoot, and it sucks, and the most important thing you can do for yourself at this point is to relax and be patient.

So I wasn't the only September interviewee waiting FOREVER? What is the point of interviewing early, haha. Oh well, GL on that final decision.

Congrats MM07! Glad to hear that admissions at drexel are still sticking to the 2 month timeline.

Interviewed on December 6th and today my status changed to currently under review by admissions committee! :xf:

"A decision has been reached and a letter will be mailed to a preferred address."

Appears I'm looking at a waitlist, ya?

Does anyone happen to know the name of the woman who welcomed everyone who was interviewing on the day of the interview and provided everyone with a tour of the school? I think her name is Kelli Kennedy, but I just want to be sure. I tried to find a picture of her on the internet, but was unsuccessful.

You are right.

I interviewed Nov. 19th and my status still says "your interview has been scheduled..."

Did anyone else take over 2 months to get their status changed?

Acceptance Letter 1/24
Final decision status 1/14
Interviewed 11/19
OOS, Sub 30 MCAT, 3.7 GPA

SOOOO EXCITED!!!! 😍
Congrats to all of those accepted and good luck :luck::xf: to everyone whose waiting. Its a longg 2 months after the interview but definitely worth the wait!

Waitlisted 🙁

OOS, <3.5, 34+

Interviewed mid-November. Here's to hoping the list moves, since Drexel was my favorite out of the schools I've been lucky enough to interview at. I thought the interview went really well too.

Hang in there, Shanks! I'm pretty sure Drexel has a good amount of WL movement, even though it'll be a bit before it happens.
