I applied late in the season (November) and I haven't heard anything from Drexel... Are they basically done inviting people for interviews?

I just checked my status today and it now says "Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision." whereas i'm pretty sure it said something different a couple weeks ago. Sounds like a rejection, right?

Has anyone interviewed mid-January and has heard back from Drexel?

A few people who interviewed from 1/8 to 1/13 have received decisions. I interviewed the week of 1/10 and I've been with the committee for over a month now. I don't mind the wait, though, as long as it results in good news! :xf:

Interviewed 1/15, with committee for over a month as well. Hoping for good news soon!

Congrats, I know we were both in the same relative boat for a while:

Interviewed Dec 6th
Status: 6-8 weeks before a decision, Dec 6th-Mar 7th (13 weeks)
Status: With a member of the committee, Mar 8th
Status: With the committee, Mar 9th
Status: A Final Decision has been sent, Mar 11th

Note: from Late Feb-this week, I had been calling and asking about my status. I am sure they had this image of a pest-like status troll when they made their decison. I am not expecting to get in here.

I got accepted today! I really can't believe this considering my drawn-out application cycle with Drexel shown above. I will be turning down this offer immidiately to free up the spot. Good luck everyone

Does anybody know how much and when the waitlist moves at Drexel?

Kind of really disapointed I didn't get accepted straight out - 3.3 gpa 3.7 bcpm and 35 mcat - booo

probably right before may 15. i also got smacked with the WL hammer.

Interviewed first week of Feb.

Status changed today from "6-8 weeks for a final decision" to "under review by the admissions committee" (did not get the "with a member" stage for some reason).

I noticed some folks get stalled at the "with a member" stage for a while. Since I am at "the committee" stage, should I expect a decision soon?

Thanks.

So, I got waitlisted as well. Does this mean that my interview did not go well? At this point is that all the decision hinges on?

"With the committee" is a good sign that you'll be receiving the "final decision made" status next! 🙂 Good luck!

just withdrew my acceptance. Good luck to everyone hoping for a spot!:xf:

Getting waitlisted definitely does not necessarily mean that you did not do well in your interview. Keep in mind that the waitlist does move, and because they have handed out many acceptances at this point in the cycle it is possible they are just being more conservative with offering them and are waitlisting some candidates they do in fact like. Don't beat yourself up and try to stay positive, good things can still happen!

That's a pre interview hold but it is as good as rejection for most people. Like most pre interview holds, only a small percent get off and get interviews. Most get rejected. So its not officially a rejection per se but its more likely if you get that that you are getting rejected. that's what we deduced based on previous drexel threads when me and my friend examined this issue after getting the hold.

I am sorry of this has been answered somewhere else but 1) do they reject people before the end of the interview season and 2) do they accept updates?

Thanks!

Yes and yes.

There were a couple rejections in the beginning of the season, I think.

Updates can go to the e-mail addresses on the website. I think I used the medadmit one.

Hey guys, I am new to this thing. But does anyone know how long it takes for a final decision once your application is with the committee? Also, if it says a final decision is made, does that mean your accepted?

Time with the committee varies greatly. A "final decision" is an acceptance or rejection. "a decision" means wait list.

If you get accepted do they call, or just send a package?

People don't typically get phone calls, just something in the mail.

I think once they start taking people off the wait list they might call them, so they can keep things moving. I think I saw this from last year's thread, anyway.

has anyone's status changed from "a final decision" to "a decision"?? i first noticed the final decision status on friday night, then checked again tonight and saw that my status changed to "a decision". clearly i'm freaking out a little while waiting for my letter. 🙁

I had "a decision" then Back to "6-8 weeks" then a "final decision"... calling doesn't help.

I just typed up my post acceptance withdraw letter so hopefully my spot will go to someone waiting! Good luck everyone :luck:

Where did you decide to go instead? If u dont mind my asking... 🙂

I'd be pretty sweet if they start pulling people off the wait-list before 5/15 :xf:

then what's the difference between under review with a Member of the admissions committee (will be sent to committee shortly) vs under review by the admissions committee?

then what's the difference between under review with a Member of the admissions committee (will be sent to committee shortly) vs under review by the admissions committee?

There is a progression through the following stages:

1) You interview
2) Your status changes to "with a member of the committee" - this means that just 1 person, probably your interviewer, has your file and is writing your interview rec or whatever
3) Eventually, when it's about time for your file to be discussed the status changes to "under review by admissions committee"
4) Then after the committee decides the outcome of your app you get either "a decision" (waitlist) or "a final decision" (accept/reject) status
5) Approx 10 days later the letter arrives at your preferred address

🙂

ok thanks! i hope since my status changed to under review by admissions committee yesterday that they reviewed me today. Do you know how it takes them to update your status to decision after they review your app? Is it that same day?

My status finally changed today after months of waiting. No interview invite, but "Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision"

Does anybody have any idea why, at this late stage of the game, they wouldn't just send a rejection? I would be thrilled with an interview invite...

It's hard to say how long it will be between your app going to the committee and you getting a decision. For me it took several weeks, for other people om the thread only a few days between going to committee and the final decision status. It seems like they meet on Thursdays (a lot of people's statuses have changed Thursday night/Friday in the past). Good luck!! :luck:

Yep, Thursdays

did anybody get a final decision/a decision today?

Not sure if it changed today since I've been out of town, but I now have the "A final decision has been reached" status.

Hi Guys, sorry if this has already been answered before, but I haven't been following the Drexel thread regularly.... I interviewed on Monday, 3/21 and my status just changed today to, "Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly."

Does anyone know how the timing works on getting this status, and how long it will actually take to go to committee from here? Any ideas? Is this fairly quick? I honestly didn't expect to see a status change for quite a while, as Ms. Kennedy told us any decision wouldn't come until about 8 weeks.

Thanks for any insight! Good luck to you all:xf:

I got that status the day after my interview. I'm now getting my final decision about 9 weeks post-interview, but other people have waited longer.

Ah. That's about what I figured... Thanks Penndoc!

I interviewed 1/31 and my status still says "your interview has been scheduled." I thought I would add that to the mix for people's theories. It could be that what really matters is when you get the final status of a "decision has been made" in terms of when you get the letter. The timing of the intermediate status changes could be arbitrary. I think I'll call just to double check that my application isn't buried under something, however 😎

Wow, really? June? So if we were to choose this as our one acceptance by the May 15th deadline, we would have no idea what we'd have to pay?

Trust me, you're probably going to be paying the full amount. You may get a ~$1000 scholarship or so, but I probably wouldn't expect much more. If you have <$20k in previous student debt and/or your parents make more than $400,000/year you won't even get that.

Yeah, pretty crappy especially if you are using that as a decision making factor. I heard it from an MS1 but maybe they got accepted late? I was accepted mid December and have heard nothing.

Just to confirm about the financial aid offers, I spoke w/ someone in their FA office and she said that offers would be sent out late May/early June.
