I also want a letter really bad ... unfortunately, it's not looking good. I'm URM and I've yet to receive a call.

I completed my application on 9/29 and I haven't received heads or tails of anything since then. Am I done for? What was the length of time it took from submission to hear back from them? And do they send out a rejection notice?

From submission to interview invitation, it took about 4 weeks. Did you receive a complete email?

for me, it was about a month from complete email to invite, but that was very early in the season. they do not reject during interview season.

I live in the emory area...do you think it wouldve come within a day?

My UVa acceptance was sent to my place about a 10 minute drive from the school and it took 3 days - don't get too discouraged too soon! 🙂 Still waiting for an invite... 🙁

how many people do you think they accept in the first batch?

Accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So excited, after seeing all the applicants at the interviews I thought I had no chance what so ever. Will ultimately have to wait to see fin. aid before I decide where I go, but I'm so shocked that I got in 😱

what are your stats if you don't mind me asking?

any west coast ppl receive an acceptance?

no mail for me today...so hoping i get one tomorrow

Got the acceptance letter today up in the northeast! Amazing school, super psyched.

are they sending something to everyone whos interviewed so far??

For those who didn't get the letter, I know they said we should write to them. Should we just send a letter of interest/why we'd be a good fit, a general update letter of activities, both?

Thanks and congrats to those who got better news.

still hoping that the letters didn't reach the west coast =(

Congrats!

Its kind of convenient that they don't make us write them a check to hold our spots like most places do!

Just another reason to love Emory! And congrats to you as well!

Do you know if they have a second look? It doesn't look that way but just wanted to make sure...

To jma: If I am not mistaken they said to write them if you haven't been accepted in one of the first two rounds (AKA after November 29th or whenever the next date is). I think you should send both an update and why you are a good fit for the school. Can't hurt to have both!

To skyhyp: It's possible they didn't reach the west coast yet...And you still have 5 more dates of acceptances so plenty of time / chances. All the best of luck to you...

Does anyone get interview invite recently?

any acceptances today? My mail comes in about an hour...really hoping for that letter...

Accepted!!! I had almost given up hope because people from the northeast had received their letters!!! Wow! First acceptance so I'm pretty psyched.

ok, so i finished all of my applications and secondary apps back in the summer, but now the few secondaries that i didn't fill out (like emory) keep emailing me. what do you think? it's getting late in the day, should i even bother with submitting more? stats aren't great, 3.5 cgpa, 33M, but i have a pretty different application...already have interviews at baylor, tulane..what's the consensus?

The only thing it can hurt is your bank account a little bit. Other than that, the worst they can do is say no. If their deadline has not passed and you are seriously interested, then why not finish the app? That said, with a couple of interviews already lined up your chances of acceptance are pretty good already. So...if you really want to go to Emory, I say apply, but if you are just looking to add schools, then save your $$.

I submitted 8 weeks ago. No word whatsoever. Added an additional LOR (from a peer that was a required letter for another school) about 2 weeks ago. 3.88/3.86 34P. Complete 9/27/10. Any opinions? 🙁

Um, I was complete 8/26/10, still haven't heard anything.

I have very similar numbers and I've been complete since August. They seem to have let out fewer interviews than other places, but since they don't reject anyone until february basically, hard to say if it means we've already been passed over.

Same here guys, been complete since 8/3

3.93+c/sgpa, 37Q

Hang in there

I'm not sure if it's just for minority students, but there is a second look weekend in April. I believe it's the 15-17th. Again, this is what the diversity dean told me, not sure what's involved or for who. I sure hope it's everybody, but it didn't mention anything in the letter pack we got with the colored sheets. It had other dates in there but nothing about second look. I'll call the dean on Monday and keep everyone posted.

My application has been complete for 3 months now and I haven't heard a peep from the admission folks here. I have above average stats for the school.

Anyone know how receptive they are to updates/ letters of intent?

And how important do they value huge amounts of research experience? I feel that this may be the factor that caused them to not initially offer me an interview.

Any information on these subjects would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

I got accepted with 1 summer of research, so I don't think its a requirement to have a ton. Like most things though, it definitely can't hurt to have more

I have no research experience and I got accepted. Send them a letter!

Hey guys, who should we send the update letter to? Thanks!

I emailed admissions and asked if they accepted them and how they prefer it to be sent, and they told me to email any updates to the admissions email. They sent me a confirmation they received the update a few days later by email.

I think they are receptive, I interviewed on the first day of interviews and they said that if we felt that we had very strong reasons for thinking Emory was the school for us, to let them know and explain why. I was accepted in the first batch, 11/1. And to answer your research question, I'm not sure if you're asking because you have a ton or very little research experience, but my app was very research heavy. So from previous posts, it seems amount of research is not a deciding factor. Good luck to you!!!

Anyone know how many ppl Emory interviews?

does anyone receive interview invite recently?

I got accepted about two weeks ago! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FREAKING EXCITED! Looks like I'm going to Emory!!!!

3.4 40S in case anyone was curious 🙂

I'm a little scared about my Emory application- i submitted REALLY late (got the completion email oct 22). Have I ruined my chances? Is there anyone out there who submitted this late and got an interview from previous cycles? Would it help to write an update/intent letter now? do i have an upper hand as a georgia resident? My stats are 3.72 gpa/35P mcat, I have considerable amount of research experience. thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,

Just accepted here in the next wave of snail mails! I loved this school when I visited, and wish congrats to everyone who's been accepted and good luck to the interviewers/secondary-completers!

if accepted, do they require a deposit? Or just the Signed Letter of Intent?
