Yea, it's a student ID number for undergrads, you can leave it blank if you have never been a Georgetown student. This was how somebody else answered the question earlier in the thread so I'm not ENTIRELY positive about that but I left it blank and have received an interview so it must not be too important if I'm wrong.
 
Anyone else having trouble logging in to check their status?

Every time I try to log in, it just refreshes the page... 🙁
 
Are people getting "complete" emails? I did not receive one, but my Application Status says "Completed on XXXX." (The date is from several weeks ago) Is that the same?

That appears to be the same. Someone commented that they were having a tough time keeping up with complete emails. I never got a complete email, and it says complete on my status page. And, I got an interview. So, I think you are fine for now.

Where is this online status? The applyyouself webpage or do they have a different website?

It's on the same secondary website if you log back in. Where it says the time and date you submitted, it should also say when you were complete too (if you are complete of course).
 
Well that is odd. I received a complete email today saying my file has now been forwarded to the committee when I submitted mine on the 23rd of July. I am assuming they have looked at it before now and are just getting around to sending out a complete email. Weird. I have not been offered an interview and am assuming they are not terribly interested in me right now and may look at me again later (hence the lack of interview for a month).
 
same, I also just received the "application complete" email. Specifically, this is what it says:

Dear ,

This is to inform you that your completed application has been forwarded to the Committee on Admissions for review.

Please note that Committee review can take up to eight weeks. You will be notified of the decision as soon as it is released via e-mail and within the Secondary Application system. Thank you for your patience.

Please remember to keep your preferred e-mail address updated in BOTH the AMCAS and Secondary Application systems.

We appreciate your interest in our School of Medicine.

This is interesting, because I already got an interview invite on 7/29. 3 weeks later, I get an "application complete" haha.
 
Same here.
My complete date changed twice on the online status. Not sure why. I was sure the email was going to be a rejection since I haven't heard anything yet and have been complete for a while.

I just got the same email. The strange part is they offered me an interview and sent an email confirming the interview date over a week ago. 😕

hmm, it seems like a weird process--I think this email was automated, so it was sent out to "everyone" regardless of interview status.

yeah, i just got this email too. I've been complete according to the status website since 8/6 so I don't really know what the point of that email was.
 
Earlier in the thread people were saying that the admissions office was having an issue with sending out "completion emails". My guess is they got the issue fixed and everyone who didn't get an email now has one.
 
I submitted mine on 7/23 also, but the status website says it was complete on 8/6. I e-mailed the school to make sure everything was in order since I never got a complete e-mail and they said they were having problems due to the sheer number of applicants. They said that mine was complete and under review but I also just got the e-mail today...
 
Funketown. i got one too even though i had already been completed.
 
submitted a few days ago, now complete. I'm definitely cool with that haha.

Yes. I think a lot of people did. They were just slow getting out the complete email for a while.
 
Another who got the complete email today despite the system saying i was complete on 8/6
 
Me too, robflanker. I was complete on the 6th according to the system, but only just got the "complete" e-mail.
 
Same here, it said 6th but just got the email.
 
I don't know if I missed it but I didn't see anything on the sec that said anything about rec letters? Can someone tell me how many rec letters do they want and specifically from what type of professors (science, arts...)?

wow, i feel really dumb...how did i miss that. i went ahead and emailed them anyway. i just hope they understand what i'm asking. i hate it when schools briefly skim your questions and send you a response that doesn't answer it at all :laugh:
 
does anyone know how often they add new interview dates to the site? i just got the invite today, and was wondering if i should wait a few days...i'm hoping to interview 2 days after the last possible date shown on the site
 
did you get interview invites over email or was it on the status site? I'm getting worried...
 
Well this is depressing....I was complete on the 22nd of July and guess I've been passed over since they're now reviewing mid August applicants. *sigh*
 
For those who have been invited to interview, are any of you planning on staying with student hosts? The website still does not have any updated information on this topic. I really like this option to get to know some of the students and save some money.

LOL, same here. Really depressing as I wanted to check out DC. Oh well, it is what it is. I'll just consider myself lucky to have gotten a few interviews.

I was complete on status site on 8/6...did anyone with an 8/6 complete date get an interview today??

yikes, no interview invite for me. i hope this doesn't mean i'm rejected! 🙁 they may have passed the 8/6 completed crowd today and moved on to 8/16.
 
I wouldn't worry about it. I've been complete since 7/22 and I haven't lost hope. Schools interview until February/March. Just because they don't want to interview you now doesn't mean they won't later. If they really didn't want you I imagine they would just let you know. No news is good news in my opinion.

Aww, Thanks for your encouragement BioeMD. I had thought a lot of these schools simply passed you over and wil send you a rejection later during the cycle-in March or something. I thought that was the norm?
 
So did anyone ever arrange to stay with a student for their upcoming interview? I have made a few attempts at making this happen but nothing has worked out.

Additionally, if by chance there are any super-cool current students reading this thread who wouldn't mind a super-broke applicant crashing on their couch next week before his interview, could you please PM me? Thanks.
 
I am having trouble logging in. The page refreshes everytime I put my PIN and pw in. I am not computer illiterate, but I cannot figure out what the heck is wrong. It doesn't seem to be a pop up thing either. Anyone else having this problem?

I thought the same thing. However, Georgetown's email did say that they would reach a decision on your within 6-8 weeks of when you submitted, and they only review each app once. Maybe they filter all the apps they have so that they look at the best/top stat people first, so its not 100% in order of completion date...or perhaps this is wishful thinking from another applicant complete 8/6 really hoping for an interview 🙄
