For those of you who have interviewed already, what is it like? What kind of questions do they ask?
Hi,
Is anyone else having troubles with the Georgetown secondary application? I enter in my PIN and password but clicking login brings be back to the login screen.
Thanks!
Mine was very relaxed, and with an MS4. Why medicine / Why Georgetown / Tell me about your shadowing experience / this experience. They're blind to your grades and MCAT, and just have your essay/activities. Seems like a lot of them don't get a chance to really read through it, but I've also heard that some people encounter interviewers who know their application pretty well.
It was very friendly, Ms. Sullivan's presentation was pretty awesome-- I don't really get how people can blow that off, everything she said was true and founded upon 20+ years experience seeing people go through medical school-- and the school was impressive overall. As for it being $300k worth of impressive? That's a decision I'll have to make later (hopefully).
As has been said before, it seems like if you get an interview and don't fail in an epic manner, you're likely to be waitlisted. Then you write letters. Interesting system, seems to generate a class that wants to be there.

^^^ If you are waitlisted, (or if time goes by and you have not been invited for an interview) you should write "letters", essentially updating your information, telling the school of any new accomplishments and whatever other bull**** you can think of. Schools like this because they get the feeling that the student is "really interested in going there", especially when by that time you are likely to have had interviews and even acceptances elsewhere....
A classic school into this is U Chicago...
for those of you who have interviewed, do you know the name of the "interview coordinator"?
Next round of interview invites should be coming out within the hour. Fingers crossed...

8 am came and went with no news.... Tragedy.
how do you guys know the invites are going out today?
Did anyone get invites today????
I was completed 8/6 and was sure I was either gonna get rejected or invited for interview today............nothing.
Actually I think it's every other Thursday, or at least that's been the pattern thus far. It was every other week last year too, though a different day of the week. I don't think rejections come out on Thursdays, just invites. Anyway, I forgot about Labor Day as well. Maybe that will delay things a bit.
I heard Georgetown's grading system makes it one of the most stressful schools. Thoughts?
any chance invites go out today?
at the interview Mrs. Sullivan talked about how 85% of Gtown's student body collaborate and help each other with academics. the other 15% being gunners. I also asked students about this and they thought it was not like undergrad, most ppl are willing to help.
yea I had a very positive experience when i visited gtown. everyone really wanted to be there and you could tell.
really hoping to hear something good in November
@vitty. From what i remember Mrs. Sullivan said that if you get waitlisted you should be sending a letter of interest. my question is, is it appropriate to send any before the results come out?? I just want to let them know how interested i am.
Yeah, I know what you are thinking and I don't think it will hurt but I also doubt it will help. I was in your exact same position, after gtown I was sure I wanted to go there and I was eventually placed on the waitlist. By the way, get used to waiting because while georgetown has many great qualities, punctuality is not one of them 🙂. I wrote a letter and a few months later I got off the waitlist. I would say hold tight for now, go to your other interviews and be prepared, if necessary, to write a letter saying why you really want to come here. I know the wait sucks but it is worth it when you get into a program you like.
Can any current GT students elaborate on what you like/dislike about your school? I'd like to hear comments from anyone who has interviewed, as well.
I'm amazed by the negative perspectives on this board, but I'm not sure what to believe. What's most surprising is that it seems the majority of other school threads have students on them going to great lengths to rave about their school and have nothing but positive things to say about it. This one doesn't, and is painted in more a negative light.
I'm sort of the on the fence about applying here with the posts about subpar facilities, hyper-competitive atmosphere (this one really gets me), poor student evaluations, and lower retention rates (relatively speaking). Combined with the high app fee, lengthy essay, astronomic number of applicants, and just being sick of writing, I'm not sure what to do.
Wow, I feel the same exact way as you. I have heard so much negative from both students and non-students that I wasn't even sure about applying here.
Can someone resend me the link for the login site for the secondaries. I already submitted my secondary and still have my username and password, but I deleted the email with the link for my profile.
Thanks
i'm on the fence about applying here too. i've heard a lot of negative things on sdn and from med students i've talked to. the one thing that really turns me off is the over-competitiveness. i think the issue was addressed a little earlier, but from what students have told me, the students tend to be gunners/very competitive. can any current gtown students on here comment about that?
HELP!!!
I can't access the secondary
When I enter login info and try to proceed, it just loops me back to the login site
Yes, my login info/pass is absolutely correct, nothing pops up. I'm just redirected to the same page~~
Any way I can contact them? I've no real idea...
will more interviews never go out...
