No my friend interviewed in April last year... The let her know that she was interviewing for the alternate list but she eventually got in.... She got in two days before classes started.... There's still hope

The minimum score to apply is a 22 and a 2.7 undergrad GPA... Howard looks at your application holistically (including community involvement, clinical experience, "fit" for the school, etc)

It's definitely not too late to get interviewed, but it might be really hard to get one this late in the cycle. But like everyone on here says, don't give up hope! Good luck!!

Hey, MissionEmed23. Welcome. To be honest, I feel like you probably turned in your secondary pretty late. Mid-December, all applicants received an e-mail from admissions essentially stating that half the class was already full. After that, a good number of us have interviewed (and some have been accepted) and the class is filling up pretty quick. Saying that, I would also add that nothing is impossible as long as they are still reviewing files and there is still space to be filled. Don't give up, but be realistic. You can call admissions and talk to them directly for a more accurate answer. I think their number and times they accept calls are in the previous page of this forum. I'm getting quite nervous with all the waiting. Just keeping my fingers crossed waiting for a positive response soon...

Good luck to you and RebeccaBlack!!!! 😀... Last cycle, Beeweew and I were the only two on here that were waiting and we both made it to the other side... I remember being really anxious to hear back because even though I was waiting to hear back about other interviews, HUCM was where my heart was... Im sure you poured your heart out in your interview and let them know you wanna be there. So, at this moment, all you can do is let go and let God deal with it... Also, it doesn't hurt to send Ms walk an email stating how much you really want to be there😉... If you havent recieved an email stating that "a decision was made on your behalf" then she may be able to fwd that email over to the committee. you never know but, that could be the deciding factor between "rejection vs wait list" or "wait list vs acceptance"... At this point, every little bit helps.

That email does tie you hands a little bcuz if you do email or call than you look like your a person that cannot follow directions. on the other hand, how else can you make yourself stand out?!?! IF you live in the area, I would suggest going to the Med school tour on Friday. Sometimes Ms Walk conducts the tour so you could get a chance to talk to her in person after the tour ends.....

My prayers are with you... I know that we all cannot make it in during this cycle but, I hope that some of you have been excepted to other schools. therefore, you will not have to sit out another year or two. If you have not been accepted anywhere during this cycle, please don't lose faith!!! If a physician is what you really desire to become than don't give up!!! Find out why you were not selected, try to make those adjustments over the next year, and reapply....

I know this is not the ideal situation but, I was also on the other side before. In 08', I was applying for medical school and didn't do well on the MCAT so I had to withdraw my application and prepare for a retake. In the mean time, I went to graduate school To enhance on my science background while preparing for the MCAT. Two years later, Im graduating this May with my Masters of Science, increased my MCAT score by 7 points, and had the privileged of receiving multiple acceptances to medical schools. The only thing that kept me focus was my determination to be a physician and helping ppl.

I interviewed last month and I am still waiting for a positive answer; but the wait is so painful and long but I have learnt patience from all that has gone before.

I hope your interview was great! I completely understand about the waiting... it's such a difficult time with so much emotional turmoil! Have faith! I'll be praying for you. so did anyone get any of these 40 interviews yet or are they still waiting for withdrawls?

From what I been told yes. However, they will be sending out invites until mid-April. If you haven't already sent in an update (new fall grades, volunteering, shadowing, etc.), do it ASAP, and then follow-up by calling Dir. Walk as early as possible on the designated days. Best to you and keep hope alive!!!🙂
