While I (as an applicant) understand people's frustration with slow turnaround, don't you think that the sites and the faculty responsible for the internship process do the best that they can?? I have to believe that everyone in this process wants to do what's best for everyone in the situation. I think some of our (the applicants) anxieties and insecurities are playing into these comments, and I'm not sure it's fair to those who are responsible for offering interviews. We don't know what the processes are on their side...so how about let's give them the benefit of the doubt. Technically, they don't have to tell us until the date given, and I'm sure they're doing the best they can....
I was simply asking a question. My response had nothing to do with my insecurities and wasn't phrased to be attacking to the initial poster. I completely understand that they are under no obilgation to let us know until their notification date, however I was just curious...so I asked a question.
As a late-comer to this convo I just want to say that I think it is important that we all be aware of how we word/phrase things. In addition, we have been saying left and right "don't take the process personally" and I think that can also be said of people's responses on this forum. We need to be careful how we word things, since others can't HEAR our intonation, and also not assume the worst of what others say (and just because we are referenced does not mean we are being attacked).
I also want to thank those who are participating in intern selection at their programs for providing us with their insights. I think we all need to be extra concientous as to how we phrase our questions to these people so as not to scare them off - they don't need to even be telling us anything on here after all.
