I did a CBC for one other school but I just thought that each school would request it individually. Maybe not... I call tomorrow to be on the safe side tho. Thanks alot!! 😉

Once you get accepted to the first school, that school initiates the CBC via AMCAS. Then the rest of the schools {provided multiple blessings!!} will just get it from AMCAS.

**I am mulling over withdrawing my interview invite on 2/21 as I have multiple blessings already and will have the quandary to decide where to.

If you have the time/money to go to your Meharry interview, you should go. It may sway your decision about where you want to spend the next four years.

S.D.18 : Thanks for the insight. I actually have had that spirit since m first acceptance in Dec, to attend my interviews and whatever the outcome, make a decision. So I will surely go for it - I stay in Memphis and the date is on Monday so I could actually drive to Nashville. Thanks and all the best to you too.

Would anyone mind posting interview questions from an actual Meharry Interview?

The one everyone seems to get is "How are you going to pay for your medical education" I'd definitely have a good answer/plan beyond financial aid for that one (even if financial aid is your only plan) so you don't uhhh umm like I did lol

It's a one year prep program sponsored by the school of medicine to which you take graduate courses to better prepare you for medical school. Its actually not a bad program because your guaranteed a seat in next years class pending you complete the program with passing marks. Its also ALOOOOT cheaper than most if not all other/outside post-bac programs.

Ok thank you for that I appreciate it. I guess I would have to take the MCAT again right? Something I do not want to do, hopefully the one I have is decent. Thanks again🙂

I didn't get that question... I got "tell me about yourself, what would you do if you couldn't become a doctor, how will you make the transition into med school, what experiences with underserved communities"

Just called and spoke with Ms. Davis this morning and she said that, for those who interviewed on Jan 24th I am presuming, should her something this week if not today......:scared::scared: trying not to be worried/anxious....

I got personal questions pertaining to my AMCAS. Spent a lot of time talking about the research work I am currently a part of. Was asked if I ever traveled and where. What was my fav subject/class in school science and nonscience and why and just other random things. It seemed like my interviewer was just pulling questions out of his head and framing them based on my app. Mine was definitely not structured with "specific" questions he just had to ask. So my advice is just know your amcas well and just be honest and sincere and you will do fine🙂

No prob! No you wouldn't have to take the MCAT...EVER AGAIN and your seat in the next years class is guaranteed (unless you fail the program, but they'll work with you to the point where you'd have to put more effort into failing the program than passing it lol). Its an awesome program both money and preperation wise because you'll get exposed to the school, curriculum, faculty..etc before officially starting medical school which will carry over to you performing better when you start.

Congrats on the program acceptance! (Your pretty much a MEHARRY MEDICAL STUDENT if you decide to take it)

Yup I got that question. I don't think you need an answer beyond financial aid. You need to be real. I told them that I have no problem taking out hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans from the government. Unless your family is rich, most people are funding their education with loans and I'm sure they know that. They just want you to understand how much debt you will be in (assuming you are not joining the military or receiving a full scholarship).

Agreed 👍

Spoke to mr Mosely today and he said I'd receive an email regarding a decision tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest.... Has anyone else who was accepted received an email? I wasn't aware that they sent emails out... Anyway, I'm a nervous wreck and sick of all of the anxiety caused by this whole process, lol

I know waiting is so nerve wrecking. But, no I did not receive an email. I got my acceptance packet throught the mail. But I have heard some people say they received an email. So, I guess it is just random. Don't Worry!😉

Can someone please tell me the events of "interview day"! Also what time are the festivites over?

Can someone please tell me the events of "interview day"! Also what time are the festivites over?

If you're an 8 oclock interviewee, the schedule is
1. Meet everyone/intro with Mr. Mosley
2. Interview (talk to others while you wait for your interview or after you're finished)
3. Intro with Mr. Mosley again because the 10 oclock interviewees join at this time/Take head shot
4. Financial Aid Presentation
5. Tour of the campus
6. Lunch/student interview
7. Exit survey or faculty/staff interview if you came at 10.

I got out around 1. I think the 10 oclock folks get out around 3

I don't think I missed or added anything but I have a bad memory and I dream alot so some of this stuff may not have actually happened:laugh:

Is Meharry still sending out invites for an interview? I received an e-mail last month that I was "on hold for an interview".

Hey! Does anyone know how many people are considered for Meharry's post-bac program? and how many do they accept?

Also, is their any chance for them to interview you with intention for the post-bac and accept your for their 1st year entering class, instead?

Any current med students can weigh in on this?? 🙂

Interviewing a week from today...

Am I nervous yet?? Duh! LOL

:xf::luck: *Deep sigh*

Any1 else on here that will be with me on the 28th??

I believe they take around 20 people for post bac. My understand is that they interview everyone for 1st year entering class and then after the interview they waitlist people or refer them for the post bac program. Don't quote me but I believe this to be the case

You can be considered for the post bacc program pre-interview as well. A friend of mine was emailed after she submitted her secondary and she's interviewing directly for the post bacc in April.

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to SDN; but have been lurking on the boards for a while. I'm super excited about my upcoming MMC interview. Thanks danielle07 for the breakdown, but I'd love to hear peoples thoughts on their interview day experience (highlights and lowlights). Can I PM anyone?

Ps. Best of luck this cycle to everyone!

I interviewed on 2/14 and received the background check consent request this morning. Eeeek!

Congrats to everyone that has been accepted! I am Interviewing on March 7th, I hope I can join you in the celebration afterwards!!!!

I got the CBC request four days after my interview and was waitlisted yesterday... Pray for me!

I am on hold and I am being considered for the postbac. program can anyone let me know what that is? I did not even know Meharry had a post.-bac. program. If anyone can give me more info. about it I would greatly appreciate it!!!! Thanks:laugh:

Hey, I was also told that they are considering me for the postbac program. Meharry is my first choice, really want to go! Did your email say they would contact you in April if selected or did they already tell you that you are accepted? Help Please lol
