Out of curiousity to those that interviewed. I remember few years ago there was a guy who interviewed my former classmate who asked questions like define your idea of compassion, or what does the color blue mean to you. I believe he was a psychiatrist or psychologist of some sort on the faculty.

Have any of you had this interviewer? I'm just curious because others on here had also told me about that interviewer and their questions seemed rather thought provoking whenever you heard them from people.

I had him as an interviewer last year. I believe he is OB/GYN. While his questions are somewhat strange and stressful, it is a breath of fresh air. You cannot really plan for an interview with him. Answer the questions with what first comes to mind. It seems he has a series of questions, maybe around 20, and judges your responses. He continues as long as you continue to have strong answers. The person before me only had about 5 of his obscure questions and I ended up having about 20. Afterwards, he has a nice, friendly conversation. While there is no right or wrong answer necessarily, how you present your answer determines the strength of answer in his mind. Try not to appear distraught. It really is a fun interview.
 
Has anyone interviewed in Portland for Maine Track? Any insights on that interview process? Anyone admitted to Maine Track -- hard to tell on the acceptances if they are Tufts or Tufts/Maine Track. Since this is just year three, would love to know more.
 
movinmom - I had my Maine interview in October. The pool was made up of about 4 non-Mainers and 5 Maine residents. The interviews were conversational and the interviewers enthusiastic and encouraging. Overall, my experience at Maine Med was lovely.

They send out notifications of status (either acceptance or deferral) at the beginning of each month, I believe. I know they convene at least once a month. If you're deferred they re-review your application alongside future interviewing candidates, so you remain active in the pool. It's not a wait-list, because you won't necessarily have to wait for the class to fill and for other people to withdraw before beings accepted. They will make a final decision whenever they please up until May.
I know that they have issued a few acceptances already, but my feeling is that they are taking their time. Hope this helps, good luck!
 
Interview invite today during my umass interview. I got home from worcester today and logged in to schedule the interview. I found out that the earliest date available was tomorrow (11/18) and the next available date was 1/6. So, instead of sleeping for 12 hours like I normally do after my interviews, I am stuck reading about tufts while trying to iron my suit and figure out how I'm going to get there. Sucks but still 😀

CONGRATS on the interview invitation! Ironically enough, I also got mine the second I walked out of an interview at another school and entered the student waiting area. It's also pretty funny that that took place 6 weeks ago and if you choose 06 January, I will see you there!

Lol cos I don't know how parking is around there so I was trying to get my sisters to give me a ride but they both work. I did some arm-wringing and finally got one. I hope you hear from them too as well as other schools 🙂

Thanks. This has actually happened to me 4 times now. On my way to my first interview in NY, I got one on the bus and the others happened when i was at other interviews. Very weird that I check my email almost every microsecond but the days I am too busy to check is the day I get an invite.:laugh:. Regardless, I was bold and chose the 11/18 date so here I come tufts. I am still amazed at thefact that the entire UMASS total budget is approximately = tufts tuition. 👎
 
Just got back from my interview here. It was great. Everyone was really nice and my interviewers were awesome and super conversational. We were told to expect to hear back in the first two weeks of december so here's to hoping
 
Finally, an interview invite. It's been over a month since I heard from a school, so I was getting a little worried. It sucks that all the days over winter break were booked, but I'll be there the first of February.

Completed early/mid October.

Keep checking the site throughout the next few weeks. I was able to move up my interview by a month (for earlier this month) and dates kept fluctuating. Good luck!
 
I was invited to interview yesterday, too...earliest date available was 2/15/2011 ... I'll be watching to see if anything opens up earlier, though, lol
 
anyone who emailed an update letter get a confirmation that adcom received it?
 
Are we supposed to get some type of confirmation that our post-acceptance deposit was received?

They told me to call back around 4pm today if I wanted to check if the acceptance reply was received.
 
Has anyone that interviewed late Oct (28th I think was my date) heard anything yet? I think they said early December was most likely. So much for the (2 weeks of the following month).

I interviewed that day, too. I think they said sometime during the second week of december we should hear back.

Aaaand just got the email today saying they would be mailing out decision letters late this week or early next week.

Do they also email/call decisions as well?

Yea I just checked my spam and this email was there. I'm starting to get tense/excited as this is my first decision :scared:. I would hope that they email as well cos I really don't feel like tackling the mail man whenever he shows up.

I am not surprised. I interviewed in Nov and was very fortunate that upon receiving my invite, there was a date available the next day and so I did this. If not, I would have had to interview in february

Congrats DoctaFuture!! I would LOVE an invite from this school.

Just curious what are your stats and when were you complete? I've been waiting to hear back from this school since I was complete mid-October.
 
Also, does anyone know when Tufts' last interview date is? It sounds like they're running out of interview spots... 😱

I got that same email yesterday - and got my acceptance call this morning 😀 I think based on the threads from the last round of decisions the calls should be going out over the next couple days (they don't seem to only happen on one day). Good luck!!!

Last week of March is the last day of interview. Tufts holds interviews on Tues & Thurs, and most of March interview days are still open.

I hope you'll hear soon from the school.
 
hey guys does anyone know if the last few interview dates are for actual spots or WL?

Congrats to all those accepted!!!! Quite an accomplishment. And thanks ankko for the info. Appreciate it. Do they send out rejection emails or just hold onto your application until they run of out interviews?

Congrat y'all!

Any of y'all remember what number the call came from? I got a bunch of random 800 and 877 calls today -- hang ups with no message -- so I hope I didn't miss it!

I did not take the call because I was in class. They left a message. Not sure what the area code was. :luck:
 
I wasn't able to answer the phone either, Dr. Neumeyer left a message though. The number he called from had a 617 area code. Good luck!

Accepted! Just got the call 30 min ago. I interviewed last week of October.
 
No phone call yet is probably a bad sign, hunh? Interviewed on the 2nd of nov. Tufts is my top choice, so kinda bummed.

I wouldn't worry yet. I interviewed middle of nov but hakuna interviewed in october so maybe they are not going in any certain order. Besides, I'm sure the calls will continue into next week so chin-up. :luck:
 
also interviewed nov 2 and no phone call. I'm on edge staring at the phone and checking my inbox/mailbox constantly. this sucks. Im also waiting/hoping for my first acceptance
