Nope, my #3 choice. But I could definitely live in this city, work with these people, and survive the program ; )

The city is awesome. But for the love of God, don't leave the city. Those country bumpkins are crazy! That being said, I'm on spring break next week, so I will be stopping by the relatives there after my interview on Friday. Ugh.

Has anyone heard back about Penn State? I had my interview last weekend and I heard from my host that sometimes the acceptances went out really fast, but I haven't heard anything yet.

Well I was waitlisted via email at CUNY's social personality program. Feeling a little down because it was the first program I interviewed with to get back to me. I suppose its better than an outright rejection but now Im worried that I wont get in anywhere at all. Oh well one program down 7 to go.

I assume(d) that the delay is that they've offered the position to someone else, who has yet to accept or reject it, and once they hear from that person, they'll move down the list if they decide not to attend that school, or notify everyone that they have not been accepted...

But they wouldn't be able to put a three week time frame on it, if they were doing it that way, as people have until April 1st to accept an offer...

I recently got accepted to a program that is high on my list (YAY!). However, I would like to turn down an interview at a program that is significantly lower on my list. Does anyone have a good template for turning down an interview? Thanks!

I don't want to identify my school right now since I'm not sure how offers are being handled (it will be on the list when it's updated), but....

I just received an offer to my first choice clinical PhD program!!! I am completely and totally beside myself right now... I had my doubts about the process in general so the idea of getting into my number one program was definitely *not* on my radar at all!

Also, for those individuals struggling with poor GRE scores.... I had an 1100 combined (530Q, 570V), so consider this your success story confidence boost! Find a program where you fit perfectly and make every other aspect of your application stellar. It CAN be done!!!!!!

Also to share the wackiness that is the weekend coming up. I'm flying to Cali to interview for Palo Alto U and IMMEDIATELY after flying to DC for an interview at USU.

Whew.

Anyone have any opinions on Palo Alto U? Aka, Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. I've heard mixed reviews.😕

apparently he got an acceptance the day I was going home from interview from the same PI 🙂 then I emailed the PI to thank him a day later and he said they would be meeting as a faculty and get back to us soon... such a b**ch of a process... they lead you on like none other... but at least it was not your POI who apparently gave out the acceptance, so no worries for you yet 🙂

I feel so stupid for being so anxious about this, but I can't help it! I saw on the dept. calendar that they are having a full faculty meeting today, so I feel like decisions could come down really soon. Until then, though, you have once again calmed my nerves, sir! Thanks! 🙂

Why do you think faculty massage the truth? Do you think the PI doesn't want to tell you that an offer has been extended because you are number one or two on the PIs waitlist, so s/he doesn't want to yet push you into the arms of another program?

I don't know about Palo Alto U, but I live around that area (south bay area), and it is a pretty expensive place to live. Definitely something to seriously consider.

I also interviewed for the school/clinical program in early febuary but also just received an invited for an interview to the clinical program next thursday so I don't think you'll hear anything for another two weeks.

A friend is an alumni of the program and told that you are able to apply to both. I received an invite to the PsyD Clinical Program.

I think in general Yeshiva interviews a lot of people... I interviewed for the clinical phD program which as about 10-12 slots I think and there were like 12 people on my day, and we were told there were going to be 6 interview days total...I really want to find out already though!
