Does anyone know when they change the "mailing status"? It says my mailing date is 7/7 but the mailing status is blank.

The mailing status is for schools to update whether they have recieved your application or not.

Peymanjan you will notice via email. With your stats there is no place to worry. 👍
 
this is all bs I was verified the 29th.....and no mail out....AADSAS sucks (insert your own word).....oh well....ill be stressed till next monday now ha

have you tried contacting AADSAS? not that it is guaranteed to help, but i emailed them yesterday pointing out the fact that it had been nearly three weeks since my application was verified and it still had not been sent. i got an email back this AM from them saying it would be sent out within the week, and by this afternoon, my app status had changed ...

but, that also could have been a coincidence since it looks like a lot of others finally got their notifications as well!
 
yea. i just sent them an email. we'll see how they respond...
 
Ya as I've been reading most of the posts, I think AADSAS is kinda shady in their process of actually sending out the applications to the schools. I submitted my app a couple weeks ago and it was verified pretty fast, and I got an email stating my app would go out in the next mailing cycle but it still has not been mailed.


I called them yesterday and the representative told me that my app would go out this friday, but who knows...
 
OK so yesterday my status was Mailed 7/7 and today it has changed back to Not Mailed. What is this???
 
Whoo hoo, verified 6/15 (or 6/16, don't remember) and finally mailed out 7/8/09! I wonder if it was because of my nasty emails and phone calls or just coincidence. Either way, hooray! Now just time to wait...

So i emailed AADSAS yesterday, and they replied this morning that my app would be sent in on the next mailing.

It looks like your suggestion paid off, cause my app is finally sent in today! woo woo! or maybe it was just coincidence....

My mailing date was 7/8/09 yesterday. And this morning, it changed to 7/17/09. (Nothing under mailing status). WTH?!
 
Okay just called AADSAS. This is what they said:

The original 7/7 mailing date was the Electronic copy of the application sent to the schools. The new 7/10 mailing date is the date when the Hard copy of the application will be sent out.

Not bad.

I was wondering about this too......

I checked this morning and before this I had nothing under mailing status or mailing date. Now for mailing date is has the 17th, is this going to be when they send out a hard copy?
 
This is getting out of hands. In order to apply early, not only did I work hard on my application, I also saved my weekly checks so I could pay the hefty fees early. I paid over $1000 for my application, which does not seem like a lot to most people but for me that is over two weeks worth of my salary.

 We can all sit here and rant about our problems on SDN and you can bet your application will be sitting at their headquarters until August, while people who submitted AFTER us will be getting interview invites. We as customers (so called "applicants") have more power than we think. We all tried contacting AADSAS to resolve this issue, which clearly failed due to their poor customer service. Their service is very important to me, it is not like I am getting my vehicle's oil changed, my career depends on this. I have filed an online complaint to Better Business Bureau.

Yeah - the app was electronically sent on the 8th and will be physically mailed on the 17th - thats what they told me.

When i checked my mailing status last night it said mailing date 7/08, i was happy then this morning it changed to 7/17. Is there anyone that can explain that to me please thanks guys
 
For everyone who believes what AADSAS told you: You have been fed lies.

"The date you hit 'Submit' and paid your fees is the date your application became available to dental schools" - This is what AADSAS has said from the beginning. Now, how has policy changed to what our colleagues are reporting today?

Nothing AADSAS nor their customer service said has made any sense. The first 2 batches were done "randomly" which they admit as a mistake on their part. Then they try to placate us by saying "being in the 3rd/4th mailing batch won't keep you from getting into school", but that is not the point. Why should we be satisfied with the 3rd/4th mailing when many of our applications should have been in the 1st??? The point is that they have royally messed over apparently THOUSANDS of applications, and this is just in the first month. 👎thumbdown

Man.. I called most of the schools I applied to 2 days ago and none of them had any aadsas apps then. What makes me happy is that U Buffalo sent notifications, meaning they got at least electronic copy of the app.

It isn't comforting to see changes 1 week later...anyone know if it was actually mailed 7-02-2009 then?

Feya, I just noticed that as well so I stopped by this thread to see who else had the same event.

Any clue as to what that means? Could it be the hard copy they just sent out?

me too...it just changed to 07/02...i wouldn't have even noticed if i hadn't look in this forum 🙂...it's still all right though...with all this stuff happening to other people we should feel lucky

When did they own up to their mistakes? When I confronted them about it, their customer service rep replied that they do not have access to other applicants information.

Just from reading another thread, the 07/02 is the hard copy of our apps. YAY! 😀

With AADSAS being like they are now, I don't believe anything until I get emails from schools that they have received the app 🙂
