You and I are applying to alot of the same schools I've noticed. And put me in the completed more than a month ago pool and still anxiously waiting. Any oos already receive an interview invite?

For those of you who are complete, what does it say under "MCAT planned"? Next to mine, it says "Yes", but I'm not planning on taking the MCAT during the app cycle or anything and I don't recall answering any MCAT timeline questions on the secondary? Just wanted to check in case that was the reason why I'm not complete there yet! Thanks!

I have the same, but I am complete. Not planning on taking it either. I think you should be fine.
 
what are your stats if you dont mind?
 
Hey folks, I submitte my AMCAS in July and have received all my secondaries but the Albany secondary... what might be wrong?🙁

Thanks! I submitted towards the end of July. With all the interviews you have I'm sure you will get in somewhere.

qualified applications exceeds the number of applicants that we are
able to interview. From an applicant pool of approximately 10,000
candidates, roughly 600 will be invited to interview. Screening is
done on an ongoing basis as applications become complete. Therefore,
in some cases a final screening decision is temporarily deferred. If
over the course of the admissions season we find that too few
candidates were initially invited to interview, we will turn to the
"Hold" category and invite selected applicants to interview.

As a reminder, we do not accept updates or letters of interest sent
to us via fax, "regular mail", or email to supplement the required
documents to complete your file. Unsolicited updates that are sent to
our office will not be added to your file, nor will they be
acknowledged. We will contact you if the Admissions Committee
requests updated information.
 
For those who have recieved some sort of decision (interview, or hold): when were you complete?

I was marked complete on 8/15, and I'm just trying to establish a timeline! Thanks a million in advance!
 
Does anyone know if the school is able to store luggage during the interview day?
 
Yes you can store your bags at admissions for the day during your interview. If you have other questions, feel free to ask.

I submitted the application on 7/25, but I don't remember when it was marked complete.
 
Got put on Hold. Does anyone know if Albany traditionally goes back to the hold list for later interviews or is a rejection is pretty much imminent?

Does this school reject people or just put everybody who doesn't get interviewed on hold like GWU?
 
Just got rejected -- so they def. do it. the status line of the email was "albany medical college application status - no interview" -- lol, way to be curt! i guess that means i didn't have to read the email (i got the point).

Thanks for the reply. Good luck in other schools. I got 4 rejected from 4 schools so far.

When were you complete/when did you submit?
 
submitted 8/1. complete 8/4. as i recall, they had no essays right?

Did you get an email indicating that you were on hold, or is there a status update site you can check?

There is a status page but it doesn't show the hold on my app. I only got it in the email.
 
So the school takes absolutely no updates right? I recently started doing research and I e-mailed them about it and got this message:

"We do not accept updates (other than transcripts/grades), or letters
of interest sent to us via fax, “regular mail”, or email to supplement
the required documents to complete your file. Unsolicited updates
that are sent to our office will not be added to your file, nor will
they be acknowledged. We will contact you if the Admissions
Committee requests updated information."

I'm disappointed because Albany is one of my top choices. 🙁

If you receive an interview you can update them at the interview by talking about what you have been up to since you applied.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I know I can update during an interview, but I was hoping to update them now in order to help GET the interview lol.
 
Just as an FYI, keep a look out for our brand new Clinical Competency Center (read: simulation center) when you come for the interview tours. Just opened, and it's freaking gorgeous. Simulated OR bay, ICU bay, modular surgical suite, new standardized patient rooms...

Y'all are going to have a good time when you matriculate, especially with the new hospital wing we're building too.
 
On the secondary, any of you list shadowing experiences where it says "Voluntary Health Related Community Service"? Obviously, shadowing isn't community service, but the only other section I see that could fit is Extracurriculars. I want to use that section for actual ECs like clubs/hobbies and stuff.

Any thoughts? Don't want to wait til Monday to call.
 
Does anyone recommend any hotels in Albany? I'm afraid of bed bugs!
 
There isn't any indication they do. I guess what people do is email the admissions committee to ask if there is a delay in receiving the secondary. I received mine about 5 days after verification.
