Just got into "high priority" waiting list. I need to fill a form to keep my position. And I am not sure about what is "Amcas ID". Is that the same as my AAMC ID?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Hi everyone! Congratulations to everyone accepted and good luck to everyone who is still waiting on interviews/decisions! I started a facebook group for our class, just search for "Albert Einstein College Of Medicine: Class of 2016." If someone wants to be an admin, just message me and we can get started.
I'm so excited to meet everyone in the fall!

Hey, here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/groups/287546877977465/Maybe I am missing something, but when I search for the group on fb, it doesn't seem to pop up. Could you maybe post a link to the page?
Thanks!
I interviewed back in early December and still haven't heard back. Any advice?
Wait listed last week about 2 weeks after I interviewed
2/1when did your interview? I just curious, i interviewed 1/17 and haven't heard anything back yet.
I'd say go ahead and call them and just check in on your application if you're curious, they're nice in admissions 😉
Apologies if this has already been addressed, but does Einstein have a formal second look?
I just gave them a call. Some tidbits of info: 1) They are indeed very nice 🙂. 2) The next committee meeting apparently isn't until next week, so if you haven't been reviewed yet and would like to send in any updates, now is the time!
As for why I haven't heard back yet, I got the standard "it depends on who interviewed you, when the evaluation is submitted, and when your application is presented to the committee" line 🙄.
I was accepted back on 12/22 (or 1/15, not sure if "Save the Date" email counts), but they booted me out on Monday. I had a ticket for driving on a suspended drivers license in 2006 that showed up on my background report. I didn't put it on my AMCAS application because I didn't know it was a misdemeanor, and I was horribly mistaken. BIG mistake for me to make, and looks like I'm paying the penalty.
Good luck to the rest of you!
Sorry if this is a sensitive question but was your offer rescinded or were you able to talk with someone to explain what happened? If the former that seems extremely harsh.
First they rescinded my acceptance, and I was told they would "reconsider my file" after getting all the documents from Certiphi. They pulled my court file, and because it was so long ago, it didn't include why my license was suspended. I told them it was because of an unpaid photo radar ticket (through email), and the committee revoted on my file. They decided to "let stand the rescission of my acceptance." I tried to get voice-to-voice with the Dean or appeal the decision, and I she said "no" to both. I'm still not sure if I was rejected because they thought I intentionally lied or because the ticket shows that I'm reckless.
Does anyone know if they have rejected people pre-interview yet? (wondering if they do silent rejections instead) Thanks!
Can any MS3/4s comment on how the last 2 years are run? Things you would change? There was a thread a while back with a poster complaining about the system being inflexible with regards to residency interviews. How are rotations otherwise?
Thanks!
Interviewed on 12/7
High priority wait list email on 1/26 (placed name on wait list the same day)
Sent in letter of interest on 2/21
Anyone know what I might be able to do in order to increase my chances of getting off the waitlist?
Bump original question:
Or... does anyone know the easiest way to get in contact with 4th years? I tried looking for a "Class of 2013" fb group but couldn't find one.
Thanks!
no news yet. Should i count myself out on an ii?
Can any current Einstein students answer a couple questions regarding housing?
1. In the Student Financial Handbook it says rent for the first year is 10 month duration. So during the summer break, are we required to vacate the room since we won't be living there and paying rent?
and 2. In a two-bedroom apartment shared by 3 people, does that mean two people will be in one bedroom? i'm a bit confused by this because on my interview day i was told that all students will have their own bedroom, albeit a shared apartment.
thank you in advance!
1. no you don't vacate your apartment but you do pay rent over the summer for first year. The research stipend (2500) is more then enough to pay for those 3 months tho.
2. the 2 bedroom is actually converted into a three bedroom that is why each person gets their own bedroom. If you remember from interview day there is still a living room and a small dining area and the bedrooms are "plenty" big 🙂.
in their housing policies, they state 'no pets allowed'Re: housing... this may be a stupid question, but do you know if they allow cats?

Yeah, no reply back yet.
Does that mean no II? Do they do silent rejections? And does anyone know if they're still holding interviews?
