Paypal says my payment was accepted (using my CC), but Creighton just sent me an e-mail saying it was not successful so I can pay again. Is this the same problem others are having?

I believe the payment error emails are just delayed. I had 2 failed attempts and then a successful attempt; I received a successful receipt email and then a couple hours later, 2 "your payment failed" emails.

Submitted! However, it said that their payment system is down until this afternoon. Hopefully it will be up soon so I can pay and go complete!

Quick question- did anyone receive an email saying that their app is complete? Creighton should have all of my materials, but I can not find out if my app is considered complete or not. Thanks!

I called because of problems processing my payment, and they told me my app was complete. No e-mail, though. When I log-in to the app it has green checkmarks next to the letters of rec.

Thanks- I'm assuming I am complete as well as I also have green checkmarks for the letters of rec and had no issues with payment.

Anybody know when they start interviewing? I didn't realize they would be sending secondaries out so soon. My primary app was just verified yesterday, but I haven't received a secondary yet.

CUSOM usually starts interviewing at the last week of August, on both Fridays and Saturdays of each weekend, going all the way to mid-March, depending on the volume of applicants. If you get an interview, they're very good at relaxing applicants and making it a fun day! Best of luck to all those applying!

I have green checkmarks beside all my letters of rec, but they all say "unknown" under "Meets Req" ...same for you guys?

Yes, same here. I called them and they said that mine met the requirements. Not sure why the site still says "unknown", but I'm not sweating it.

I looked on their website but didn't find any info on if they look down upon if your Jewish/any other religion besides Christian can anyone comment on that

Of course not! I'm glad to see that you are applying here IDF.

I'm sure that if you have a green check, you are OK. If you're worried about letter requirements, check out their admissions page.

Well thats the thing. I had a Committee letter from my pre med advising office. Which fulfills their first option i think. However i have three supporting letters from science professors(one of them was my history study abroad prof so he might be able to double dip as non science. But he was also my physio prof) and a research mentor. just worried i need a one more letter.

Done! I don't know why I found that "human condition" questions so odd...I just couldn't find an articulate way to answer it. Whatever, it's DONE! Submitted. :luck: Everybody!

I'm pretty sure the committee letter alone suffices and that you have exceeded the minimum.

They emailed back and said I met everything. What prompt response

Yea, they were really helpful and nice when I called too. Here's to hoping we both get interviews.

Weird, they replied to my email with a form type letter saying the letters are manually reviewed and that I should wait 3-4 weeks...

I phrased my question with "Hey i have such such letters. i read the site but im still wondering if i meet the letter requirements. thank you!"

a person emailed me and just told me," hey we take1-2 weeks to assign letters. I checked yours. You're good👍"

How soon after verification should one expect to receive the secondary? I still haven't received it. Don't want to be an anal pre-med, but I would really like to finish these! 🙄

I hope I didn't delete it in the spam folder by accident.

also waiting for mine...hopefully before the weekend itll come 🙂

So I'm thinking about applying here, but one of my activities was a big HIV prevention, safe sex, condom distribution thing. I know some Catholics aren't too down with the whole birth control thing. Is talking about safe sex and condom outreaches going to get my app thrown out here? I know only some Catholics are against condoms, but I also know how diverse admissions committees are, and how everyone from priests to doctors serve on them. Thanks!

I can't say I know for sure, but in my opinion that shows commitment to the population you're serving. If it were me, I would include it.
Judge not lest ye be judged 😛

Adcoms are screwed. They only accept ~2% of applicants, so are judging 98% of students as not worthy.

lol yeah considering it is their job to judge us, I guess that wasn't the best quote to use.

My letter finally reads meets requirements

Submitted today!!! Whoo hoo! Now when's my interview?

2000 character limit
1.Please state your reasons for applying to Creighton University School of Medicine.
2.Describe briefly any experiences and/or skills that have made you more sensitive or appreciative of other cultures or the human condition.

gl everyone🙂

Is it 2000 characters per question? Can someone confirm this for me? Thank you 🙂

I'm getting ready to send mine in! I'm so excited!

Thanks for your input!!!

still waiting on their secondary as well... was verified like a week ago.

Heads up everyone - I just e-mailed them and they said that they are having problems with their supplementary program, but they expect to have it fixed in a few days. They said there might be problems logging in, and that you might actually be complete, even if you application does not say so. If you are, you should get an e-mail after they fix the system that you are complete.

Hmm, disregard.

Yep, it seems like there's some technical problems on their end, but the staff is really accommodating.

Example: I submitted a letter packet that got marked as not meeting requirements :scared:, emailed them 😕, turned out that one of my letters didn't download correctly, and yesterday finally met requirements and am complete 😎

For the second essay regarding cultures, would writing about growing up in NY with lots of diversity fit the bill?

Hi Everyone!

I will be entering my second year this August, and will try to check in here from time to time to answer some questions if I can. To quickly answer a few, our class has people from all different religions/regions of the country. While there are some Catholic aspects (you'll see a crucifix in every room and Marcia, our amazing chaplain, will say a prayer when we start anatomy/for some other activities) it is pretty minimal and I truly don't believe any of the non-Catholics feel out of place/uncomfortable. I can expand on this if anyone wants, but from my understanding everyone is pretty happy!

Since Creighton is private there is no in-state preference- Creighton undergrads/Clinical Anatomy grad students may have a slight edge but our entire class isn't made up of them so it's not ridiculous. Our class has people from all over the country- there are a bunch of people from California/ the West coast, a lot from Minnesota and Wisconsin, and not as many from the East Coast but still a decent amount.

For those of you with concerns about Omaha, I'm a city girl and I'm making it work, but for the people that prefer rural to suburban, they make it work probably even better than me hah--basically I'm trying to say that Omaha is definitely not as bad as people had made it out to be to me prior to coming, so don't worry!

Best of luck everyone!

Brings me back to high school 😀. This makes me love the school even more, thank you!

I finally called them, their staff is definitely very friendly! There are indeed some technical problems in their system, as several others in this thread have posted.

I was worried because my letters still say "Unknown" (under "Meets Req") even though I submitted on July 1st. The woman I spoke with told me that there is a problem with the system that is not allowing them to access my letters at all to check if they meet requirements or not. She said I am not the only one affected by this issue, and that they are trying to figure out the problem with the system so that they can review my letters.

Just figured I'd post for anyone out there lurking with the same issue 😛

I sent them a big addendum. I apparently forgot to include all the conference i presented at. whoops. At least they were cool with it

Wow we are applying to many of the same school. Good luck man.

Waiting patiently from this school. I turned everything in early and had a nice update to my application.
