I have been complete since August with NO news. I was updated on Dec. 7th but still no interview invite. Does anyone know if they send out pre-interview rejections or are they just stringing me along for a "silent" rejection?
Thanks.

They just sent out a pretty big wave of pre-interview rejections in mid-December by email. You're still in the running, hang in there! 👍

You can call the admissions office on Thursday and ask. They're pretty open about your application, and can connect you to an admissions counselor for more information. I was able to speak directly to the Director of Admissions, Garland Jarmon, when I called.

They actually sent out offers over the break. My acceptance was signed and postmarked Dec. 23. I received it Dec. 28.

Hope some of you got the news you've been waiting for!

Oh how interesting. When did you interview? I spoke with Dr Quinn, he said that the comittie was not meeting during the break, but maybe I didn't get the whole truth. Either way, good for you!

Is there a fb group yet for class of 2016?

Not from what I have seen. Someone should get on that, but only so I can see how many attractive women are considering Creighton. This of course is done for a purely academic purpose. I have to see how distracting lectures will be.

Does anyone know where the committee is at with sending out decisions? (i.e. which week of interviews are they reviewing and/or which is the last week that has heard back?) I'm way past the 4-6 week time frame but I'm thinking and hoping that winter break thrown in there might of messed it up.

I called yesterday and they said by the end of next week for my group (I interviewed 11/18)

Yesssss. I feel like there needs to be a nerdfighter thread on SDN.

Murphy's law. My flight just got cancelled for my interview tomorrow. Why does it have to snow nowwwww?!?!

oh no! I am sorry to hear that. If it happened to you though, I'm sure that it is affecting others, and Creighton is pretty understanding, so they should be able to rearrange the dates. Hope it works out!

Yeah, the Chicago airports are actually completely shut down from noon until 6pm. I got on an 830pm flight, so I hope I can still make that. The office is SO NICE. The lady who handles interviews actually gave me her personal cell phone number so I could keep her updated. She said not to worry, that they can reschedule if needed, and there's actually another girl from Chicago who's experiencing the same thing. Huge positive reflection on the school. You rock, Creighton. 👍

Love the school! Great program and interview experience 👍

Did you order John's new book? I got it in the mail today...it came with a hanklerfish 😀

I didn't, but my roommate did! Hers had no hanklerfish 🙁

I was updated 1/12 too.... hoping for good news for us this week! :xf:

😀 You too!

When a decision was made on my file, the LORs section on my secondary disappeared. If it's like that on yours, they probably made a decision and you can call if you don't want to wait for the letter. Then again, there may be no correlation between the disappearing LORs and a decision, but that's what happened to mine.

checking...now:xf:

Okay, now that I finally have access to a computer, here's a longer response.

I loved the interview day. It was long, but I think Creighton does a really good job of showcasing different parts of their school to interest many different students. Dean Quinn is a great guy- very down to earth, easy to talk to, and hilarious. I actually had my faculty interview with him. We had a great conversation, in which he asked about different parts of my application, but also personal things and my goals. A very relaxed interview 👍. I had my student interview with an M4 on the student adcom. We spend most of the time talking about sports, restaurants (I'm a huge foodie), and different parts about Omaha. He also asked a few questions about my app, to clarify some things, but otherwise it was pretty chill.

The facilities are good-dedicated student areas, many places to study in the vicinity, and nice tech enabled classrooms with video-recorded lectures (a huge plus for me). I really liked the different programs the school had to offer, such as ILAC (clinical rotations during M4 in the Dominican Republic), the Magis Clinic (student-run), and the CURA project (summer volunteer program abroad). It was astounding how many students are involved with this, and really shows the humanistic values that the school has. Even though I'm not Catholic, I never once felt out of place. In fact, much of the Jesuit values the school has align with my interest in medicine, such as a value on relationships with patients and treating the entire person.

If you have the chance to stay with a student, definitely do it. My host picked me up, spent some time talking about the school, and had a cool potluck dinner with a bunch of other M1 students. It gives you a unique insight into the school and definitely made me feel like I was welcome. I asked almost all of the students I met what they liked best about Creighton, and they all said "the people". Such a great place! Sad I have to wait 6-8 weeks 🙁

If anyone has any questions about the school, feel free to ask! 😀

That is awesome that you had a good experience. As an alum of the undergrad there, I always appreciate that people have good things to say about the school. I can tell you that generally this attitude of helpfulness and genuine care about others is common in most areas/departments of the school as well.

My host went there for undergrad too, and basically said the same thing. It's amazing how an institution can care so much and be so supportive of their students. When I thought I was gonna miss my flight, Ms. Lamb gave me her personal cell phone number so I could update her. Definitely a good reflection upon them. 👍

I don't exactly remember the LOR section, but it's not there now 😵

I guess I'll be calling tomorrow morning! :scared:

If I was last updated 12/16, and haven't heard a thing ... is it safe to assume I'm not getting an interview? Or do I hold onto hope?!

Waitlisted. Didn't expect any different, but I'd still love to attend Creighton.

Same, alternate list status (interviewed 11/18). At least there's still hope, I remember Dr. Quinn saying that they intend to send out around 400 acceptance letters by the end of the cycle- odds are still in our favor! Good luck and hang in there.

Did you call to find out?

Yep. They said we would be receiving letters by the end of this week, but you can call to find out what's in that letter if you so please.

Dang, impressive stats. Hard to believe you got waitlisted

I expected a waitlist, my EC's could have been better. But I would still love to attend!

Is Creighton's waitlist ranked at all? Or do they do a complete re-review of everyone's files? I know they appreciate updates, and I definitely plan on writing a letter.

No, it's not ranked, so it's in your best interest to send updates and do whatever you can. They re-review after the May 15th deadline.

Exact same for me, I'm staying optimistic. A lot were rejected in December according to another post

Called office today. Accepted! :luck::luck:😀 Interview 11/18. OOS average GPA, good MCAT, good ECs. So stoked to hear from Creighton. Loved the students and the school. And same as above, my LORs disappeared from my status check page. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

So I want to send an LOI, but I can't really send my grades yet because I got mono during finals weeks and have one more final to take... I'll be taking it within the next week or so...

Do you think timewise that will hurt me or should I just update them with the shadowing and grades I have so far and the coursework I'm now taking ( Orgo II is the one I want them to know about)?

If you haven't had a decision yet, I would sent the LOI asap so they read it before they review you. You can always send the grades in later. If you're already waitlisted, then I doubt time matters.

Accepted today! Packet in the mail. Interviewed 11/18. OOS, lowish GPA, high MCAT, decent ECs. Best of luck to those still waiting!

I emailed them, and said I'll send a transcript soon in part. (It was a nice letter stating my interest etc etc...)

I don't think I've even been reviewed yet... 😵 I have heard nothing from them and my status said something like complete and ready for review
