I'm going to pose a question while I wait for my inbox to magically fill with correspondence from Howard 😉

What food(s) are you most looking forward towards this Thanksgiving?

Oxtails, Curry goat, Rice and Peas and Yams...all bought from my favorite Jamaican restaurant in Rockville. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeah I dont do the typical Thanksgiving...Its all about vegging out😴, watching movies😴😴😴, and eating food I didnt cook..😴😴
Fun times..Fun Times.:highfive::highfive:

Jackpot!!:woot::woot:
I just realized that it took 3 and 2 day (yup that specific) weeks for HU to get me the secondary. I wonder what the average wait time is? I thought I saw people who were verified in August who haven't received it as yet??
Dr. SunDai, when were you complete and what was the turn around from verification to secondary invite.
I am going to go check out last years thread to see if the time frames are similar.

That's easy - Cornbread! And Pecan Pie Ha

Pecan Pie is AWESOME. :claps:

OBEAH and SunDai, you are both clearly more adventurous eaters than I am. :O Are they chewy? Like...beef jerky? Or do you eat it like a chicken leg?

Woah, googling revealed there is way more meat on an oxtail than I previously presumed. Wikipedia is an amazing thing.

Good afternoon my fellow medical school pursuants:
While looking through some of these forum connversations I realized that some people can be very discouraging. They tell you that based on you score you are not cut out for medical school. They tell you that you should probably consider going into another field or reapply. My dear friends the one thing that I have learned through this journey is that God always has the final say. Yes you may not have the best scores but is there anything too hard for God? He has the power to open doors that no man can open and close doors that no man can re-open. Folks God doesn't work in the way that we think he does. Don't ever bring him to our level because his thoughts are not our thoughts neither is his ways our ways. I say this because I want to encourage you to keep trusting him throughout every single step of the journey. He is a God of miracles and there is nothing that is too hard for him. People will say that you are not cut out but you respond by saying "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me" There is power in the tongue folks. You may not have gotten an interview but in JESUS name you will soon. God knows exactly what school he wants you in and why he wants you there. Have faith folks. The fact that you are even going through this process means that you have what it takes. Instead of having a pity party let us pray the words of Jacob today: "Lord I will not let go until you bless me"

Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope

Proverbs 3:5-Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, Acknowledge him in all your ways and he shall direct your paths

In addition, if anyone is in need of prayer or wants to talk to me personally you can always PM me. We need each other through all of this. Once again keep me in prayer folks as I will do the same for you.

Amen Amen Amen. I think some folks use this medium as a way of boosting themselves up. Encouraging one another is what gets us through this.
Thanks for the kind words VOH

Alot of people come on here to stroke their egos and feed their narcissism...that is why i dont go into the What are my chances thread. Too much negativity and tearing people down.
People need to remember asking another pre-med what their stats are isnt doing you any favors..have confidence in yourself and what you put on that AMCAS and those secondaries. I dont compare my self to anyone...I leave that to the Adcoms and just make sure that I put my best foot forward.

Oh yeah CONGRATS epsilonprodigy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep strong indeed I just wish my kid sisters wish list wasnt filled with over 400 worth of stuff..If I didnt love that little hussy she would be getting a stick of chalk for Christmas! sigh

Howard. please show some love for the non-trad stud! Don't be too hard on us. We have a lot to offer.

Never knew the process was this tedious and stressful. The finance and time commitment involve are enormous to say the least. I had to returned to my drawing board and re-evaluate things/prioritize. My bank account became depleted, I mean, completely depleted, zero $ at some point. I can go on and on....Not giving up! Brighter days ahead!!
