Hi everyone, I'm also a silent lurker. I am proud of everyone who got an interview and have been accepted, Congrats! You've earned this privilege through your hard work and fortitude.

Howard is my top choice to study medicine and like all of you I am praying faithfully to God for a chance to study at HUCM. I grew up in an underserved community and taking care of underserved populations and giving back to my community in the future means the world to me. Howard's mission coincides with mine and being able to learn in this environment would make learning medicine so relevant and fun.

I'm amazed at the collaborative, supportive, and spiritual nature of this HUCM thread. It shows the high quality of individuals that Howard attracts and more importantly that someday, many underserved patients will benefit greatly from the care that each of you will provide. Lets keep our faith in the Lord strong during this trying time and keep inspiring each other.

Sometimes I also feel myself getting a little down about not hearing from HUCM concerning an interview, but that is when I stop and take a little time to thank and praise God for all that He has already given me. This helps me to re-focus on the positive and not dwell upon the idea of not getting an interview invite so far. I know from personal experience that if you are trusting in Him and letting Him lead your life, He will make the impossible happen. If God has put it into our hearts to become doctors, then He will make it happen! 🙂 We just need not dwell upon the exact details of how or when or even where . . . we just need to work hard towards the goal . . . He will direct our paths (Prov. 3: 5, 6)

I pray that God gives you peace and takes away any sadness you may have felt . . . most of all, I pray that God puts it into the hearts of the HUCM adcom to grant you that interview! Keep your hope up!

Hey I feel the same way as well...i've kinda given up, trying hard not to but also facing reality...and its hard to trust in God when u see things not working out for u, but I won't fall into the trap of the enemy into the feeling of despair, God knew what, when and why I applied to this school, why I have the desire to become a doctor so I have to allow Him (as hard as it may be) to take over because only He knows the future and only HE knows what is best for me....this is when ur faith truly gets tested but I believe that God can bring you through any fire, and if I don't get in this year then I will know that it wasn't God's plan for me yet because I have trusted in Him thus far, He cannot lead me to despair....let's continue to hold on to our faith....it ain't over until God says its over!

But I heard a word in church yesterday stating that we must rekindle our trust in God....He only wants the absolute best for His beloved children and if He will provide for the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, then how much will He do and/or perform in the lives of His beloved children! This word was also confirmed on my iPhone bible app where the msg of the day was Recommit to God.....when you feel discouraged, upset, or frustrated that you haven't reached a goal yet, don't give up on your dreams based on your emotions! When I was accepted it was an email on a random day to call and check status. This was 3.5 months from interview. It was a test of patience but I believe things will work themselves out due to acceptees (not a real word) not attending, freeing up spots for this class.

did you get the email that your file was out of committee beforehand and had to wait even more afterwards? Or did you just get the letter to check status?
