When did your email arrive? Mine just did - 10:00 EST. I'm wondering if they did them all in one batch.

The real question now becomes... has anyone received a request for LORs??? :scared:
 
Yup got the fee request confirmation just now as well. I love these Mayo e-mails, they come at the strangest times! The fee request was around 2am
 
Yes, I agree. My first email from Mayo was at 12:32am and I just got the fee confirmation at 8:00pm. They work long days at Mayo. Go figure.

Now for an LOR request!!!

🙂 yah for sure!! good luck!! i'm taking my MCAT July 6th...scores come out around Aug. 9th...I think I'm going to submit my app in july after the exam...hopefully that's not too late!!!!

Judging by the pacing of last year's thread, we are four days ahead of schedule, and should expect the LOR requests within a few days.

If you look to that thread, there were people with Fee Received on 6/28, then LOR request 7/1 (there were several people with 7/2), but then if the fee was received on 7/1, it got backed up to 7/14.

The earliest interview invite was 7/18, which could come earlier this year.

However, the earliest rejection was 7/7, so that may be accelerated as well.

Moral of the story: the sooner everything is in, the sooner you know.

However, keep in mind that Mayo tends to do everything in batches. There were several people who waited two weeks to get their fee/LOR request, while others had to only wait one, but they came in on the same day.

So in their email about they say "If your letters are already in AMCAS, there is no further action required on your part. If we wish to access the letters, we will retrieve them directly from AMCAS."

But will we still get an email informing us that they are "requesting" our LORs from AMCAS?

Yup we will get an e-mail saying exactly that. There is no action necessary on our part though if our letters are already in AMCAS
 
Anyone else wait up until 1:33 AM CT to see if an email from Mayo arrives? 🙄

I did! I got an email from Walgreens, and when my phone beeped an email, I thought it was Mayo--imagine my disappointment when it was just 3 cents off photos. Sigh...

Yes, mayo does not have a secondary. Just a fee request. They will then decide whether they want to request LORs from you.

Right! I have literally been checking my email every 5 minutes and every time I see someone has posted on the Mayo conference I freak out a little...

So I am assuming that for people with a fee waiver thing, they won't event get a fee request at all right?

So do they send you an email telling you that they are requesting LORs? I didn't realize it all happened so fast, or in the dead of night.

Yea you'll simply get an e-mail saying "Mayo requires your LORs to completely review your application.....if your LORs are already in AMCAS, we will now begin to retrieve them" along those lines. This e-mail last year was around 2:40am lol!

Following that, you'll get an e-mail confirming that your LORs were retrieved and added to your file within a few days/weeks

Lol Prateek, if you keep staying up past 2AM just for Mayo, I they should give you an LOR request for being their #1 fan. That's some dedication!

Anyway I would have been more freaked out if the message was posted at 2:32am.

Last cycle it took them only 3-4 days to start sending out LOR requests after they received the fee, so it really should be any day now! Good luck everyone :luck:
 
I'm with you, Prateek! I keep staying up too late just in case.

Set your email to send a text to your phone, and keep it by your bed. You won't miss Mayo, that way!
 
Just got an email from the school an hour ago asking about specific pre-requisite requirements. Not a complete, or LOR request, but at least they are looking at applications. Good luck all!

LOR request! I definitely didn't expect it to get one bcuz my number was really low...Mayo def does look beyond numbers i guess
 
Bummer, nothing here. Curious, to those who just got LOR reqs, when did you get your 'Fee Received' email?
 
I got my "Fee Received Email" on 6/22, and the LOR reqs on 6/30.

LOR Request here as well. For those who are interested in such things, it arrived last night at 11:33 PST. :laugh:
