Not even joking: When I started playing the youtube video, 5 seconds later, a commercial for now That's what I call music 39 came on with that exact video! Talk about weird timing.
On a side note, I remember when the first "That's what I call music" came out.
On a second side note, is tonight the night mayo?
 
I have a strong feeling about tonight. It's been over a week since the first big wave of invites, though there have been some sporadic ones in between.

Also, I was talking to my dad about my University of Rochester interview and he was like, "wait, you got invited to Mayo?!"

There is some inherent confusion with applying to three schools all located in a "Rochester"

Most definitely. When I typed in directions to Rochester, I was really excited to learn that it was within driving distance until I realized that I was looking at the directions to Rochester, New York.
 
Rejected, LOR request 7/12, LOR received 8/2 .
Oh well, good luck to everyone else.
 
Still keeping my fingers crossed... LOR request 7/9 amd LOR received 8/2
 
Don't worry about the LOR received emails. Only a few people actually received them, and no is here is quite sure why. Of the people with interviews, a few received the emails, most did not.

Same situation for me...I haven't seen many (if any) people from our LOR request day get interviews for whatever reason. I could be totally wrong about that though.

I suppose since they are handing out rejections currently...no news is kinda good news...at least that's what I'm telling myself.

I totally agree. I rather have no emails from Mayo over a rejection. It's still early, so I don't think we should be worried yet. Come October and still nothing...I think our situation would be different.

Same. That's how I'm keeping myself from going crazy while I wait. After I get my rejection though, I'm gonna change my tune to "I'd rather get rejected now, then wait til March and get rejected then." I'm a glass half-full type person :laugh:

As each day passes without any news, I get simultaneously more optimistic and more anxious.

Kittens always help though. 🙂
 
Hmm...anyone else get an interview invite today? I thought they only sent it at night. There must be others on SDN who got it too - speak up!!! We need more data points for LOR requests haha

Has anyone else from one of the early LOR request dates not gotten a LOR Received e-mail? Just trying to figure out if I should call them about it.

I've been creeping on the SDN forums for a while and decided I should finally join in on the conversations. 🙂

LOR request 7/1 and nothing since.

Anon324 has one post and said he/she received an invite on the same night others received rejections. I'm skeptical.
 
Well, I'm holding out hope that no news is good news. 7/13 LOR request :xf:

The one post thing makes me skeptical. Plus it seems that Mayo is following a pattern of invites only and rejections only.

I am 90% sure I got an interview invite...

I got an email from mayo saying something about my application and the word interview was definitely in there, but about 5 seconds after opening the email my schools email system crashed and hasnt been working since. :scared:

I really REALLY hope it didn't say something like we have decided to NOT invite you for an interview because I really only got a 5 second glance at the email.
 
You guys are completely right, I love trolling and telling people I have interviews to help people get an idea of the relative timeline of the admissions process when I don't.

But really, I did receive an invite. I figured I'd use the random account I made at the beginning of the cycle to share the news of the day because I lurked and saw nobody had yet. Only the last Monday/Friday of September was open.

If this is true. My group of people who received LOR Received emails on 08/02 are in limbo.

Yeah I got the LOR email after a 7/1 request.

I've given up on trying to deduce any meaning from it though. My Mayo invite/rejection will get here when it gets here.
 
Rejected, not even a LOR request. Submitted fee 7/22. I feel like a loser...
