don't feel bad at all- you're certainly not a loser..if you go back a few pages, you'll see alot of pre-lor rejections for people with amazing stats (like 3.9/37). good luck with the rest of the cycle!
Why does it always come back to race?
Rejected, not even a LOR request. Submitted fee 7/22. I feel like a loser...

still silent on my end, which sort of stings. Oh well, I think I'm done staying up for Mayo. If it comes, it comes - no point fretting now!

Last year's class:
3989 applied
365 interviewed
87 accepted
23.8%
Congrats to all the invitees!
Sad for me though🙁 no invite. LOR 7/13, LOR received 8/2, so I should've been in this batch.
LOR request on 7/1 (letters received by AMCAS on 7/6) and interview invite on 8/13. It came much later than most of the others in the 7/1 batch so there's hope! Best wishes everyone
to those getting interviews, i think you deserve a salute:
Quick question
I received by LOR request for Mayo on 6/30 and my letters were uploaded on 7/15. I still haven't gotten an email from Mayo to confirm whether they got my letters or not. It sounds in the previous threads that this email should come before a rejection or an interview invite. Can anyone clarify?
Question to those who have an interview in early September:
Is there a followup email to the interview invite which gives you information on student hosting?

Is there a maximum number of letters that may be sent for MD only applicants? Their web page says they require 3 letters and then for the md/phd program they specify a maximum of 5, but I wasn't sure if there was a similar maximum for MD only or if they only want the three letters they ask for.
quick question you guys, my mcat score comes back on Tuesday. I have applied to mayo but still waiting for the fee request email ( i guess I will get it after i get my mcat score back), however, do you guys think that I should pay the 100$ since it looks like I'm late to the game? should i use the 100 bucks for something else? or should I still try my luck? ( please be honest)

I called them regarding this a few days ago, and they said that the maximum number of letters they accept is 10.
H I'm currently on the shuttle back to MSP from Rochester and thought I'd pass along some info that might be useful. My apologies if anything has been said before.
As far as the interview day goes, you'll have two interviews of 30 minutes; both will be with members of the admissions committee. There's also some "explore Mayo time" which is essentially free time, and everyone had about ~1.5 hours of this over the course of the day. Everyone seemed to agree that the interviews were VERY relaxed. Everyone's interviews were done at 2:30, and the last 30 minutes was a quick talk by the chair of the admissions committee (I left early to catch the shuttle, so if you're worried about transportation issues, just let the staff know).
For those of you that have interviewed, they shared some info that might be of use to you. They've sent out ~15 acceptances thus far; decisions go out biweekly, but the committee meets to review and rank people weekly. If you've interviewed and haven't been ranked, it's more than likely due to one of your interviewers being absent at the committee meeting. They won't discuss/rank you if one of your interviewers is absent. As far as the rest of the season goes, they're planning on sending out ~50 acceptances by the start of the new year. After that, all acceptances will be to replace those that withdraw (i.e., when one person withdraws, another acceptance will go out to replace that person). Marcy said they expect to send out ~75 acceptances total from the ~300 people that interview. As far as other numbers go, they received ~4200 applications and requested LORs from ~1600 applicants.
As far as my opinions/suggestions, I would DEFINITELY try and stay a couple of days and hang out with the students if at all possible and explore as much of Rochester as possible. That's really what sold me - Nerday and SortaBigDeal are incredible, so definitely try and meet them if you can (didn't get a chance to meet bamtuba). The insight from students is extremely valuable, and a lot of the stuff I talked about with them wasn't mentioned on the interview day.
Best of luck!

Just got the request for LORs - someone must be working late tonight (1:30am there right now). Excited for the chance to be considered!
Got the same letter on the same day. I assume it means within 3 weeks of aug 2 so another week or so before we should panic...i expect to hear either an interview or rejection this week.
is there a certain day of the week they send out invites?
