FYI I have a remaining balance on my shuttle account (I hitched a ride with an applicant and didn't use my ticket to the airport). If anyone would like my credit just PM me... simply trying to help any way I can 😍

Quickest turnaround I have ever heard of. Interviewed 12/5 and was waitlisted 12/12. Not the best result but I will say it was fast. Now if only every school was like this.

I interviewed at a med school earlier this year on 11/17 and I was waitlisted on 11/18. Lets just say I didn't have the best feelings about myself after that, lol. I interviewed Meharry on 12/12 but haven't heard anything yet

Hello all! Congrats everyone who's already been accepted! I interviewed at Meharry on Dec 2 and I'm really anxious to find out my decision. Anyone else from that date that has heard anything yet?

I interviewed on December 2nd, and I have not heard back ither 🙁

Your meharry interview was on the fifth? If so, ohai. I'm the professional singer.

EDIT: Oh, wait. I already know who you are based on your question about the interview format earlier in the thread. 😛

MOOTPOINTALERTIf no, which school was that?MOOTPOINTALERT

As you might have guessed, I'm still waiting to hear.

Congrats to all those with interview invites. I hope you get to join the Class of 2016. Good luck. :luck::luck:

wait listed too 🙁 how did you know you were in the top 10% of the wait list, Did it say it in the email?

My decision's out! Apparently, Meharry ranks its waitlist to some extent. I'm in the top 10% of the waitlist. Anyone know what my chances are?

pretty good if you are in the high priority.

Sorry Nurse2Doctor. You should keep up with the admissions office and Mr. Mosley. You never know what could happen between now and May. Good luck to you:luck::luck:.

Hello All!!! This process is very stressful but you have to stay strong and not give up. I am wishing everyone the very best while waiting for a decision. Anyone interview on the 12th of December?

Yes. I did

Uh oh, my interview is scheduled for February 20th :scared: I feel like I should reschedule but I don't know...Is anyone else scheduled for Feb 20th?

I was trying to quote someone else in my quick reply but clearly, it didn't work...Don't get me wrong, I'm ECSTATIC to get an interview at Meharry! I just feel like my interview date is kinda late.

An interview is an interview. Stop worrying about how 'late' it is and appreciate the fact that out of thousands you have a chance to show them what you got.
Hello and happy new year all!

I was complete the first week of November and have yet to hear anything. I understand that it is taking them longer than 6 weeks to let people know about their application, but I was wondering if anyone else complete during that time has heard anything.

Also, do your chances improve for getting an interview the longer the lag is between the time you were complete through the secondary application, or is it more or less the same chance of being rejected, regardless of how long they take to decide?

Happy New Year to everyone keeping up with the Meharry Thread. Hope this year is full of good things for everyone!!!!🙂🙂

You're absolutely right, thanks for knocking some sense into me 🙂

Anyone who answers your question seriously who isn't an admissions officer at the school will have no idea what he's talking about, and I doubt the school would entertain a question like this either. Just wait. And sleep more. and stop checking your e-mail so much.

I wont lie, since November, I've been super stressed/obsessed with my email to find out what the decision is. I'm glad I found this thread and have been lurking since then seeing everyone's progress. So far, no one has posted anything who has been complete as late as I have been, so I finally decided to make an account and ask. You're likely right about the second question, I was just wondering if there were general statistics about those sorts of things

Its what I do boo...lol
But seriously, stressing about things like this dont help. So just chillax, buy a badass suit, and rock it.

P.S. See you on February 20th 🙂

For those who flew into Nashville, were you able to find flights that were on larger planes or is it just jets (45-50 seater planes) flying into Nashville. All I'm finding are jets and i'm not a fan of flying on jets :scared:

any new interview invites lately (post-holidays)? nervously waiting, working on patience haha

Unfortunately had to turn down this interview....hopefully one of you gets it.

Would you mind saying when you were complete through the secondary application and when they informed you of their decision to interview you?

How do the 3rd and 4th year Clinical Rotations work? Do you have to go to far places for rotations? Thanks.

3rd year rotations are mostly at Metro General hospital (on campus). This is where the majority of inpatient and outpatient rotations are. In some rotations you work part of the time with private practitioners in their off campus clinics or with Meharry faculty at off campus clinics. These sites are 3-40 mins away. Some rotations also use the VA hospital, which is 45 mins away. Vanderbilt has the only children's hospital in the area so students go there for inpatient pediatrics and some specialty clinics. In past years East Tennessee State University hospital was also used for inpatient peds and some surgical rotations, but I'm not sure if that's still happening. For psychiatry some students also go to the state mental hospital, about 30 mins away (an awesome experience, btw).

The required 4 year rotations are done at Meharry. And the electives can basically be done where ever you like

How is the curriculum the first two years. Could you kindly break them up and tell me how each semester in the first two years works?

I answered part of your question within the thread already. You can get to that post here: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showpost.php?p=11875847&postcount=355
The curriculum might be changing and students interviewing now might have more uptodate info. But anyways...

First year
MAPS: biochem, anatomy, PPM
1st sem: biochem, anatomy, PPM1a (ethics, biostats, health care system) -- all at the same time.
2nd sem: foundational course for organ-system blocks, Micro, Immuno, Neuro -- as blocks
PPM1b (patient interviewing, history taking, vital signs) throughout the semester
Summer: research project

Second Year
1st sem: heme&lymph, musculoskeletal, cardio, pulm, renal, GI -- as blocks
PPM2a (H&P pertaining to the organ systems)
2nd sem: growth development aging, endocrin and repro, behavioral sciences -- as blocks
PPM2b
Summer: Step 1

Does anyone know how late into the year Meharry stops sending out interview invites? I saw on last year's thread that some people got interview invites through January but not much else after that?

Hey guys, I've been lurking on the thread for some time now..I'll be interviewing at Meharry on February 6. Anyone else in on that day?

Aww, I am sorry Brooke. Is this your top choice? If so, then keep in touch with the admissions office. You never know, things could change between now and June. :luck::luck:

Waitlisted....😕

I just look through last years thread and it appears that they stopped sending invites January 31st. Keeping my fingers crossed. I wonder if I should send my sister who goes to school there to check up on the application for me?😕

Hello folks, currently on the waiting for an interview invite, my app was marked complete in Jan even though I had sent it in a full month prior. I probably am thinking too much of the delay but when I hear it takes 6 weeks to review, I got kind of paranoid. Anyways, hoping for some good news and decided to start participating in the thread.

I've been complete since 2nd week of Oct. That makes...12 weeks of review now? :scared: Try not to put too much stock in the waiting period (though it is difficult!) and know that until you get a rejection, you're still in the running. 🙂

Very sound advice, thanks!! 🙂

Well, at the very least, it's what I keep telling myself in order to try to stop obsessing over my empty e-mail box... I do have trouble practicing what I preach, especially as the app season moves slowly but surely onward. 😉

I just want to keep this thread alive a bit. To those with interviews coming up soon, Good luck, relax and you will do awesome🙂. If you are still waiting for an invite, keep praying for with God all things are possible😀.
