Thought I'd join in on the fray here. I'm interviewing on Friday and I'm totally stoked to see the school. I've never really been to Chicago, so I'm excited to check it out.

I hope this is some encouragement for everyone waiting. I submitted my secondary on 8/2 and I finally got an interview invite today!!

That's definitely encouraging. I was complete around the same time and haven't heard a thing. Hoping for some good news soon. Thanks for posting!

interviewing 700, fourth accepted 4-6wks post interview, another fourth accepted at end of feb

Dean Wallace said this.

Okay, awesome. He did not say this on my interview day in October so I was just making sure. I assumed that 50% would be accepted right away, so I was disappointed when I was deferred. This gives me more hope to be accepted in March!

Any news for folks interviewed in Sept/Oct that didn't hear back during the first round of decisions on 11/3?

No nothing for me. I interviewed middle of October and have yet to hear anything. Status page still says you will hear in 4-6 weeks.

Same here. Good to know someone with your stat is waiting with me. Make me feel alot better about my chances. 😀
I thought it was a sign of rejection when I didn't hear anything the first round. Who knows, still might be the case

hey guys, im in a confused situation. I got invites for Pritzker and WashU and had emailed Northwestern to see if i could coordinate an interview with them and save some money on travel.

I got a generic email back from northwestern that no decision had been made on my app. So i decided to withdraw my app and sent them an email 3days ago to withdraw my app. Well, today i got an interview invite from northwestern. I am very confused about this, should i ignore it and forget about northwestern all together? or go ahead and schedule an interview and check it out?

a) why would you withdraw your app when they sent you the same email they send to all in-the-area emails?

b) why would you "forget about" your interview invite?

considering you had the audacity to withdraw because they didn't respond favorably, and yet STILL received an II... i would consider myself lucky if NW didn't revoke the II in light of your withdrawal!

I honestly applied to NW for the sake of increasing my chances of getting in somewhere incase the cycle didn't go the way i was hoping. Since i've been accepted at 1 of my top choices, I'm turning down the interview and hope it goes to someone more in love/deserving of NW

Ahh still waiting for post-interview decision. I interviewed mid/late October, and I'm basically at the 4-wk mark...

Well guys don't count yourselves out yet. Complete early September and received an interview invite this morning.

EDIT: Found out interview day ends at 4

I interviewed last Friday and was utterly impressed by everything I saw. I think they had the nicest facilities of all the schools I've been to so far. Their new curriculum with the normal/abnormal organ systems is very unique as well. I enjoyed the panel interview. It was low stress and actually kind of fun. Northwestern is definitely one of my top choices.

I wonder if some of us will get something extra to be thankful for this Thanksgiving... Fingers crossed!

I hope so! I need some good news right about now, in the midst of this chaos that is my life! :luck: Good luck to you, luckyducky87, and everyone else still waiting!

I hope so too! I think we interviewed about the same time! I hit the 4 week mark last week. God i love this school...

I hope you guys hear good news soon! I had heard back a little before the 4 wk mark, but I think I was just really lucky with the timing. 🙂

Passed the 4 week mark a few days ago. Hoping for us all to hear back soon.

I also passed the 4 week mark recently, but I think we will have to wait till 6 weeks due to thanksgiving...

I just got an email acceptance from Dean Wallace!!! Interviewed 10/28 and SO ecstatic to have gotten the news 🙂

Accepted!!! Is this real life?? OMG! Interviewed on Halloween! 😀 I wasn't expecting to hear back so soon! Congrats to everyone who also got some great pre-turkey day news, and good luck to those still waiting!

Congrats to all the accepted! Still no news here, interviewed mid-Oct. Maybe my file got lost? Lol

Seems like Northwestern is giving out tons of acceptances. Doesn't look too good for those of us who were deferred a while back 🙁

do you know if it's inappropriate to email/call to ask about who my interviewer will be?

Deffered(sp) email. half expected this after all of yesterday's happy letters. Oh well better than rejection and still have a 50/50 shot!

Still waiting in the dark here. Hmmm.....

Same here. I liked northwestern a lot so I'm glad that there is still hope.

Can anyone shed light on what the process is for a one-year deferral to matriculation?

I was lucky to have gotten an acceptance for the upcoming class, but I would like to take time off to travel and get a break from school. I don't have a program (ie. peace corp, tfa) lined up, but I was thinking about WWOOFing or going to work in health clinics/hospitals and teach english abroad...One of my goals is to solidify my Spanish to the point of fluency.

Will Feinberg be open to this? I believe that I would probably be more prepared for medical school after taking a year off, but how do I convey this to the school?

Do any current students have experiences with this?
