I applied to
OSU
UNC (chapel hill)
Sunny, Buffalo
Indiana
Florida State
University of Florida
Penn State
Northwestern
so far i've heard from UNC, Sunny, Indiana (Bloomington) and UF all rejections. I got a phone interview with bloomington, but not an actual in person interview. I was accepted into Ohio State, so I at least have that to comfort me.
Nothing from either Northwestern or PennState. The secretary at Northwestern told me their interview weekend was next week so I'm just going to go ahead and accept that I've been rejected from there too.
In sum
8 schools, one interview then rejection and one acceptance. My GRE was a 1270, and I have a 3.9 gpa. I am currently a senior, so I will be going in straight from undergrad into a PhD program. I have 4 years of research in one lab and 3 in another, one publication, McNair fellow, multiple presentations, and summer research. I still can't help but to feel like a total failure at the thought that i've only received acceptance from one school after such hard work....
Why is the clinical psychology field so competitive? I see everyone putting way less effort and getting accepted into multiple programs. the odds of acceptance are so ridiculously low...its incredible. #sorryfortherant.
