I got to hold a lung today. 🙂

I love my class. Everyone here is really very friendly, students, faculty and administration alike. Anatomy's interesting but there's a lot of material.

I wish the little food court opened at 7:30 instead of 8, though, which is when class starts.

Sounds amazing! I'm really hoping to get an interview. A lot of people say Anatomy is pretty tough in med school, but I'm quite certain that you'll be fine 🙂. I speak for all of us when I say I wish I was in your shoes right now 😀.

I was assigned my Jefferson interview about two weeks ago, and got the Temple invite today. Luckily I managed to schedule the Temple invite for the day before Jefferson, unluckily I had already booked my flight to Philly and had to purchase a new one way ticket 🙁

I got my interview invite from Jefferson in early August, right around when this question was originally posted. The date that I interviewed in late September was one of the first (if not the very first) date for regular admissions. People that were part of a BS/MD program or something had a day or more of interviews before us.

I don't know when Temple's interviews started last year, but I'm pretty sure it was around that same time.

Could somebody please summarize the difference between the 4 schools? I went through the videos, but still really distinguish what would fit best with me. I'm looking for better clinical opportunities where I can work mroe with patients.

I REEEEEEEALLY don't think it matters. If you don't have family or anything in any of the locations I'd just choose based on preference of the environment. Temple and West Penn are in major cities (Philly and Pittsburgh, respectively), St. Luke's is in Bethlehem which is a smaller city, and Geisinger is pretty rural. They are all major health systems in their respective areas and I don't think you're going to be at a disadvantage no matter where you go.

Hey everyone, good luck this cycle!

I just had a quick question. If you're "Under Review" that means you're complete and good to go right? And it's just the waiting game?

I just wanted to double check because I didn't get a complete email or anything but it says "Under Review" on my status page. Thanks!

Yes. This is what I gather.

I did NOT receive a confirmation email, but my status says "Under Review."

Since it says that your application is under review at the office, then that must mean it's complete, or else they wouldn't look at it.
 
Interview!!!!! I am so happy for this one, especially the idea of going to West Penn for my last two years! Geekchick: my laparoscopic challenge is still on the table 😉.

Thanks for the info. I was just wondering how many more people had scheduled since I chose my date last week. Temple's probably going to end up being my first interview of the season, which won't be a bad thing considering I have lots to say as to why Temple would be a good fit. 🙂 When are you interviewing Steve?

Thank you! I was complete somewhere around 6/30-7/2.

And wow, September is still open for Temple? It seems like it has been weeks since they started giving out invites, but I guess they haven't given out a lot of them yet.

I was a little surprised too, but I think you are right in saying that they have only given out a few invites here and there. They haven't done that huge mass invite that I have seen other schools do. Anyways, thanks for the congrats; I hope things are starting to take shape for you too!

Not a crazy amount! I have seen quite a few people on here that are approaching or have already hit ten interviews. I'm not close to that at all 🙄. Thanks for the congrats, though!

Still waiting for schools to send us both invites so we can coordinate a SDN meet up!
 
One thing they will probably mention during the information session portion of interview day is that they have been making changes to their curriculum based on student feedback and I'd just like to say that definitely seems to be true. We all just got an email for an online survey regarding the way our gross anatomy block is taught. Questions like "Do you find this particular aspect of the course helpful?" "Would it be better if XYZ?" with 2 or 4 answers, depending on the question.

It was one of the things I liked a lot when I heard about it at the interview and they're making good on it. Just an FYI. 🙂

Does anyone know when they are going to release the student host information? Online it says it will be up by September 1st, but I haven't seen anything.

I'm interviewing here on the 15th and I really want to stay with a student.
 
I would call tomorrow and ask. They did say something to us about it asking who would want to host interviewees, but I personally didn't offer (too much other stuff going on).

Does anyone know whether or not the Temple "Under Review" status changes or not throughout the cycle? Do they deny applicants or do they wait until the end of the cycle?

I've been "under review" for a while.

From past years, that status won't change until you are give an interview or at the end of the cycle when they reject every who is left. They don't reject applicants in the middle at least in previous years.
