Earlier in this thread someone mentioned that there isn't been much movement off the waitlist at all. Is this really the case? The letter leads me to believe that there will at least be some movement. I surely hope so!

Does temple reject anyone post interview or does everyone get the continuing candidates letter? That might explain if there is movement on the wait list...

Has anyone got accepted that interviewed/heard back recently? Seems like everyone is getting waitlisted

Interviewed at the end of January and haven't been waitlisted...but I'm still at interview complete.

If Temple doesn't reject anybody post-interview and puts everyone that wasn't accepted on the waitlist, then I can see how there wouldn't be too much movement with 600+ people waiting.

One of my friends got rejected post-interview. Granted, he said his interview went horribly, but still, they do reject post-interview.

II Today for the St Lukes Bethlahem campus. Anyone know if this means I am completely out of the running for the standard Temple program in Philly? Am I just interviewing for the Bethlahem program? Any info would be appreciated.

It sounds like you are interviewing only for St. Luke's. Was it not your top choice on the secondary?

It was my second choice. Still very happy with it though. Anyone have figures on # of II and # of acceptances offered for St. Lukes?

Edit: Does Temple interview for WL or are they still offering acceptances?

Call and ask IF you'd change your mind about attending if they said you're interviewing for the waitlist. If you'd go either way, just go and give it your best shot.

Congrats! =] I also received the II email this morning. How do you know that yours is for the St. Luke's Bethlehem campus? Did the email say so?

I believe there are only about ~30 spots for the St. Luke's program. So IMO I would say there will be fewer than 100 acceptances offered.

Yeah, it said St. Lukes, and my actual interview is at St. Lukes Hospital.

II this afternoon! I have been complete since the beginning of September and I am OOS.

If anyone who interviewed at St. Luke's would mind posting their thoughts on the program and/or the interview day, I would greatly appreciate it. Or feel free to PM me. Thanks!

Can anyone who interviewed at the Broad St. location in Philadelphia tell me where they parked? When I called in to schedule my interview I was told that there was a garage behind the school that even the faculty uses? Does anyone know the address?

I didn't park, but one of my tour guides said that they park in the Carlisle West Garage, so that might be it. Here's a map of the campus: http://www.temple.edu/medicine/about/documents/HSCMAPPDF.pdf. #15 is the medical school building, you can't miss it, and Carlisle West is #3. Most of the streets around there are one-way so I'm not sure where you turn.

The map Ismet provided is what I would use to find it. On my interview they pointed out building 3 (Carlisle West) as the parking garage that students and faculty use. I'm almost positive that Tioga runs eastbound towards Broad St., so just make sure you take that into consideration when planning where to turn. This would mean Ontario St. or Venango St. would be the best access to Carlisle West.

Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Thanks guys! I'm not entirely sure, the lady said it was "behind our school" when I asked for specifics...there's also the garage on Tioga that isn't marked as "employees only" on their map...but, technically, the garage on Carlisle is "behind" the school but it says employees only.

Does anybody know if Temple covers your parking fee that day?

If she's saying behind the school, then Carlisle West is the one she is referring to. So, if you are looking straight at the entrance of MERB, Carlisle is behind MERB and to the left.

I'm not sure about parking fees, as I am from Florida and took a cab from my hotel. My guess is that you will be responsible for this.

Carlisle West is still behind the school because the school also covers the next block (buildings 12-16). Building #15 is just the brand new, shiny med school building. When I checked in at admissions, the lady asked me if I parked (I was dropped off) so maybe there's some parking validation or something. Just call the office and ask 🙂

they do not cover parking.

Turn onto Venango, then left onto 15th street. The entrance to Carlisle is about one more block down. Personally, I parked in the hospital parking lot right across Broad Street from MERB.

I interviewed on Feb 14 and got waitlisted via snail mail March 1st. Good luck.

Has anyone received anything from Temple regarding fin aid forms? Or is it still too early?

huh, I interviewed the same day, but haven't heard anything yet. I guess I should be on the lookout. If waitlists are by snailmail, then I guess I should be looking out for that. Still "interview complete" on the status page.

omg i just got an II too... so random. i thought every school was done by now. oh well... i'm withdrawing. i hope someone else gets it!

Congrats! Yeah I was surprised since I thought my season was over. I'll probably attend, just because I have heard great things about the school, and I have a few friends there who love it.

There were some posts about it, but I didn't see a definitive answer -- is the "continuing candidates" list the wait list? Or are they two distinct lists? For our OOS applicants.

I clarified this earlier. Continued candidates list is the wait list.

Hopefully movement will occur before May 15. The deposits I've put down are getting pricey.

Just got placed on the "continuing candidates" list (interviewed 2/14). I was amused by the letter, as it contained the enthusiasm that would be expected more of an acceptance letter.

+1 lol. Also, it looks like there are a lot of 'continuing candidates'. Definitely excited about my chances of coming off this list.......

Email or Snail mail?

Snail mail for all of us. Only acceptances are email. It was a long month of waiting but at least it wasn't a rejection. I wonder just how many are rejected post-interview. People are more likely not to post rejections, which is understandable. Regardless there must be hundreds of us. Sigh...

Edit: I was reading on previous year threads and stumbled upon a link which broke down number of applicants, number interviewed and number of acceptances (out right + off the wait list). It looked like roughly 50% of those interviewed were eventually accepted.

Now I'm wondering whether interviewing this late will earn me a spot on the continuing candidates list as well....

Considering the overall acceptance rate to US Medical Schools, those are pretty great odds. Especially if it's a school in which you are sincerely interested, and you are willing to put in a little work.

Definitely, and only about 10% are interviewed to begin with. May we all have good luck in these next few months!

I've read on some Temple threads from years past (2008 and 2009) that those who were accepted off of the wait list were placed at sites other than Temple for third and fourth years. In the posts, their wording implied that it was more or a less a written rule that wait list acceptances cannot be placed at Temple Hospital. I know it is not a written rule, but is this the general trend? If Temple was our preference for clinical site on the application, would a wait listed applicant still have a decent shot of receiving it? Thanks in advance

It is a general trend. Most of the people I know that were accepted off the waitlist last year were put at campuses other than the Philadelphia campus, even though it was their first choice. That said, once you are put in a campus & commit to Temple, you are pretty much stuck in that campus unless you have a really, really good reason.

Did anyone else who was rejected pre-interview get an email from temple about their ACMS post-bac? lolz

anyone know if we are allowed to bring a guest (parent, significant other, etc) to second look day?

just received an II out of the blue. does anyone know whether there are any open slots available or not?
