Anyone else interview in January and still not hear anything back? ive been at interview complete for 2 months now. Starting to wonder if my application got lost?
That's strange. I interviewed in Feb and got the waitlist notice a couple weeks ago. Maybe wait a little longer, but if you don't get somehting soon you should probably contact them.

I'm 6 weeks and counting. I plan on calling them sometime next week.

Still in limbo, Interviewed Late Jan, on interview complete, anyone else interview in january at main campus and here back yet? or didnt hear back yet?

I called on monday and they just quickly jotted for my phone number and amcas id.

I just came back from second look and I'm confused about the whole financial aid timeline -- maybe someone who understood it better than me could help me out. From what I took away, our official financial aid package might not be received until well after May 15th due to delays in receiving scholarship monies from difference sources. I think I remember her saying that we'll receive the stafford loan amount before then, but nothing on need-based aid. If we're waiting on aid packages to make our decision by that day, how could we possibly do this? Maybe I completely misunderstood her, I was pretty tired.

But then again, it would seem some people are already receiving stuff.
It's true. Received 10k/year yesterday
congrats on the scholarship 👍

I called today and the lady told me that the committee has not met as many times this year as they normally do. She said it will be a couple weeks 😕

Last year I'm pretty sure people got scholarship notifications for a span of time in the spring.

Jesse, there were definitely some delays with financial aide stuff last year. You might be able to glean something from last year's thread, but I'm not sure how indicative it'll be of this year.

Did the folks that went to Second Look have a good time?

Super excited to interview on Tuesday. Didn't realize it was spring break for students, otherwise I would have picked another week! I wonder if this will affect how the day will go....

I had a great time at second look. I love the school even more than the first I visited. It was great to meet potential future classmates as well.

Good luck on your interview phnerd! This school is boss 😎

Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn Express that was listed on Temple's website? Just wondering how easy it is to get from there to campus via Septa.

Hey I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for my interview. Great hotel! I remember it being like a block or so away from the station. I chose not to take it because the hotel called a taxi for me and it wasn't outrageously more expensive, plus I got dropped off right outside of MERB.

Edit: Yes it is easy to navigate your way to campus via Septa. You got the interview packet right? It has step-by-step directions for taking Septa to MERB.

Good luck!

Oh, awesome! I might just take the taxi then, since it reduces the complication a bit haha. I saw the instructions in the interview packet, and they don't seem to bad. We'll see if I feel adventurous Tuesday morning 🙂. Thank you!

You're welcome! After your interview try to split the taxi fare to the airport with another interviewee, because it can be around $30-40 depending on traffic.

Thanks pesto, dang i Interviewed in January and thought i had a fighting chance, but the fact that they had the second look week before I was even presented to comittee disheartens me a bit. Guess it was just bad luck of the draw with my interviewer. But good look to you!

I think I'm in love with this school. Excellent interview day!

Does anyone know if an interview this late in the game is for an actual spot in the class? or only for the waitlist? Thanks!

Since it is late chances are it will be for the continued candidate list. Haven't seen too many post-interview rejections here.

Does our status on the web page ever change from interview completed? I keep checking it, but am wondering if I will only receive a decision via mail.

If you are placed on the continued candidates list, your status will not change from "interview complete" and you will receive a letter in the mail. Accepted students could tell you the sequence of correspondence they received. I believe it is through email notification. Hope that helps.

I know how you feel. It was torture waiting a month for a CCL letter... Hoping to eventually get accepted. Temple is without a doubt my #1 choice.

Did you end up taking the taxi or Septa?

I took some shuttle to the hotel, then a taxi to Temple. Split a taxi with someone to the airport after. Wasn't AS expensive as I thought, but still a good chunk of change. Wish I came a bit earlier so I could have seen the city! Apparently there were some excellent restaurants by the hotel, but I got in at 10:30 🙁

Yeah I got in late too, like 9:45. It was too late to try and find this philly cheese steak place a co-worker of mine told me about (she's from Philly). I ended up walking around the block and stumbled upon this pizza place that sold philly cheese steak pizza, whiz and all! Got a 32oz beer and called it a night

I also wish I could have seen more of the city but I couldn't take off work 🙁

Could an accepted student comment on what happened after their status went to interview complete? Mine just changed yesterday to this. I interviewed last Tuesday.

Edit: I thought I read that some people got a correspondence sent status, and that lead to both acceptances and wait lists?

Nice! Glad you ended up finding something that somewhat resembled a philly cheese steak! I think the only thing that was open when I got there was Wendy's, so I passed haha. I did enjoy my time in Philly overall though. The parts of the city I saw were gorgeous!

Same, though the most sightseeing I did was looking out the window of the shuttle from the airport and the taxi to and from Temple! I did see that UPenn has a museum of anthropology and archaeology which would be awesome to visit. I was an Anthropology major so I got excited when I saw that.

Did they tell you anything about the new financial aid reform that goes into effect July 1st? I haven't heard too much about it from interviews but it seems like we will just end up having to take out more private loans.

I was accepted in November. I got the "correspondence sent" status about 3 weeks after my interview and about 5 days after that I received an acceptance email. But I believe you do get "correspondence sent" for both acceptance and WL.

Good Luck to all of you, I know its nerve racking. I was in your boat. I am a male M1 at Temple Med. I have a nice large 2 BR apt in Dupont Towers off of Henry Ave. 12 min car drive to school. My roommate is moving out, so I need to find someone else. Rent $650 ( all utilities included) except internet $58/2. Smart card Washer & dryer on each floor no waiting. Reserved parking spot, nice Manayunk neighborhood. You must have a car, mass transit to Temple Med too hard. Last year I did a lot of apt/house hunting around Temple Med and close proximity, this was nicest for the best deal. Non-smoker preferred. Lease could start as early as July 1 must start by Aug 1, 2012 for 1 year. (You must commit in April, 90-day notice to Landlord if I'm staying or leaving Aug 1. Hate to lose this apt, its nice!!)

PM me if you are interested,
thanks Michael

Ive called them 3 seperate times and each time theyve taken down my name and phone number and said theyd talk to the admissions director, but im still on interview complete.

No clue whats going on.

I interviewed on March 20th for the Temple/St. Luke's program and my status went from interview complete to correspondence sent today.

Hm. I interviewed on march 20th as well and still have interview complete. Man I hope that doesn't mean I am WL'ed.

At second look, did they say anything about housing? Is there some kind of system for incoming med students to meet up and find roommates? Could a current student comment on popular places to live? Thanks

I think a lot of people used the class's FB group last year. I know it was started here. Eventually, your second year orientation people should set up a blog page with a Google doc for people to look for roommates and car pools and whatnot.

I live in Montgomery County, but a lot of the class lives in Manayunk or Center City. I don't know the names of any popular apartment buildings or anything, though. Sorry.

ACcepted! Got the e-mail an hour ago. This is my first one - so incredibly excited! Interviewed March 13th

Congrats!!!! Mind sharing which campus you interviewed for? Also, did you status ever change from interview complete?

Thanks

Is it safe to assume that if someone from my interview day got accepted today and I am still at interview complete I have been waitlisted? What a bummer.

It's my impression that interviewers turn in their materials at different times, hence the disparities in length of notification. I don't think it means you're waitlisted at all.

I should have clarified, I interviewed at St. Lukes. It was my understanding that all the interviewers turned in their evals and they were sent to main campus on the same day. Maybe I was wrong?

Thanks! Still can't quite believe it. I interviewed at st luke's in Bethlehem. My status changed a few days ago to correspondence sent and then I got the email last night. Someone mentioned earlier that they thought everybody's status changes at some point so I think if you haven't had any change it just means they haven't got to your file yet to make a decision.

Also in response to the other st lukes interviewee, I think their committee meets and discusses the applicants from a particular day but then their comments are sent to main campus for a final decision, hence the discrepancies in decisions being sent. I wouldn't assume youre waitlisted at all, they probably just havent got to your application yet.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!!

Ah nice, me too, same day. What's your name? Haven't heard anything back yet! But it's slightly reassuring that they are still sending acceptances and we didn't just interview for waitlist. Keeping my fingers crossed for now! Status still at "interview complete" :xf:

Interview for St. Lukes March 13th, Waitlisted today via snail mail, no status update since interview complete. Shucks. =(
