I retook the MCAT at the beginning of July. Scores were released on 8/10 and within a week BAMF had me updated to 'true' for MCAT received. I think if you transmitted your app earlier, 7/18 for me, then it will be 4-6 weeks from the transmit time, not the update time.

Thanks for the info. My MCAT score became true. It didn't take long at all. Thanks!

I finally have all trues. Still pending though. Hopefully, I'll be under review soon!

Does anyone on here know when you actually find out which campus choice you get? For example, I want Temple for all four years, IF I got accepted around November 15th, when would I be able to start looking for housing in Temple? Good luck to everyone!

For those who got interviews.. how did you approach the secondary? I have no idea how to answer the Texas A&M honor code one. I really want to go here!

I approached that prompt by telling a story that had examples of how I have by the same values that they talk about in their honor code. I literally went through their values in order and talked about how my my experience related. One caveat, I am not a strong writer, and my essays may not be what got my the interview. Best of luck to you, and I hope we both get in to A&M!

Hi guys,

I submitted my supplemental at A&M on 6/09, and my committee letter arrived to TMDSAS at 6/22... so I assume I've been complete there for a while. I have all "true" statements in BAMF, but I've been PENDING since June!! My stats are:
Overall GPA: 3.45
Overall Science GPA: 3.56
Undergrad GPA: 3.45
Undergrad Science GPA: 3.56
Undergrad Non-Science GPA: 3.29
MCAT - 27N

Do you think I'm still pending because my stats are a little on the low side, so they put my file back in the stack? I figured they would've at least reviewed it by now. I emailed A&M to ensure they received everything, and they replied saying for me to check BAMF... which I did... lol.

Any help would be appreciated. 🙂

I have an interview here in Bryan today. Hope to see some of yall there

oh not for a while. this year they INTENDED to let us rank our choices a couple weeks after match (Feb 1) and have us find out about our assigned tracks by the beginning of March. Due to the overacceptances this past cycle, we actually got to rank our choices early april and found out about our tracks late april i think. I wouldn't look for housing until you know for sure, because I was assigned my THIRD choice, and many people actually signed leases/arranged housing before they found out they got into a lower track and lost money because of it. So definitely wait till you're sure 🙂

Can somebody please help me how to check the status? When I go to BAMF website I see don't see any messages such as "pending" or "under review". All i see is:

My experience of the day:

Wow. What an amazing school. The new campus is amazing and really feels like a medical school. The Old campus building didn't give off that guide, but this one did. Awesome. New library, tons of study rooms, new classrooms, tons of sim labs. Just jaw dropping. Curriculum set up seems nice, where you spend two semesers the basic sciences(Histo, Bich, Anatomy(only one semester), Cell Physio ) and then go to systems based learning. Seems they implemented some type of PBL with the curriculum. It’s a very integrated curriculum which makes some transitions easy. Classes are recorded so attendance is optional .Get some afternoon frees.

Dr. Maldonado really sold the school well. He could sell a fish water, but he sold the school to be a top school for all sorts of medical students. A&M seems really committed to the art side of medicine and it seems like it’s a big factor in their applicant selection and curriculum. The split campus is a great idea I think. Temple campus seems like it has the benefit of being engrossed by Scott and White. The Bryan Campus looks like it has the advantage of still being collegey. The 3rd/4th year opportunities in Houston, Austin, Dallas, Corpus , Temple, and Bryan give a nice variety and change to experience different things. Since the HSC is expanding, more buildings and hospital affiliations are bound to pop up all over Texas.

As far as interviews go, it was a really different interview. It was an open file interview and the interviewers really prepared for us. They annotated our applications, took notes on it, and was a very structured, yet relaxing environment. Im not sure if it was because it was my 3rd interview or so but I just felt at ease talking with my guys and everything flowed like a conversation. Both my guys made me feel real at ease and at home.

Some quick snippets from TAMCOM:
If you took the MCAT more than once, they take the highest score

They really really really really look at your complete file and not just numbers. They take into account everything you did and see how it maybe affected your numbers.

They looked highly favorably to more difficult courses and majors and put some numbers from those courses and areas of study into the perspective of the whole application.

Overall, i could go on for hours about this school, but it was the first school where I felt that the school really tried to fit the students to their mission and philosophy. It was also the first school I feel that looked at my complete persona during the interview, and took the time and effort to really get to know me. Everyone from students to staff to faculty were beyond friendly. IMO other schools are going to have a hard time topping this great of an interview day.

/best day of the summer . I could say more but i just touched what was fresh on my mind

👍 exactly how I felt after my Temple interview. Your descriptions make me want to visit CS now.

i need to visit temple. But Dr Diaz has competition with Dr. Maldonado. He sold the school so well

Ah I just realized I copied and pasted the wrong response from my word document into the application. I was 1000 character over the adversity essay and so I was trying to get it down to fit the limit. Once I finally reached the limit in word, I quickly copied and pasted the response. I clicked on "submit" without thinking about it just to see if the application will take my response... I incorrectly answered the areas of interest in medicine. I had copied my response for interest in primary care and working in underserved for Texas tech/UTSW secondary instead. :scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:

I know this is a long shot.. but should i email them?

I think I would. It would be a terrible shame to have your application rejected because of something like that. Correcting that error is probably a better bet than ignoring it. Best of luck! :luck:

I am sorry to hear that. That is a huge bummer! I can't say what the right thing to do is, but I would e-mail them. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain by asking to get it corrected.

I'm an M1 here. (whoop!) They'll have a Second Look in January so that the people who interviewed at Temple can see B/CS and vis a versa.

BMEN, you've got a good grasp on the major points. See three weeks of our schedule here.

Finally got the four true's but it still says pending. How long did it take to go under review?

It took me about two weeks. And so far, three weeks from "Under Review" and no interview invite as of yet.

How do I check the status of my application and view the 'trues'? I submitted everything, but I'm lost from here. I could use the help. Thnx

Is it safe to think that if you were Under Review since June that your chances are getting smaller and smaller by the day?

I guess I'm ok with not getting an interview to A&M but I do feel kinda sad that my alma mater isn't giving me a chance...

Same.

Should be on BAMC. The same place where you submitted the secondary application.

Lol I'll take your sad face response as a confirmation of this theory.

Interview invite last night! Been "under review" for about a month. Glad to finally get some love from TAMU.

Anyone else at Temple on 9/15?

Hey guys, I have a question. I am contemplating sending "in the area email" to this school and I wanted to ask if anyone has done this before. I will be interviewing at the D.O school that is close to College Station. Any input on this topic would be appreciated.

What exactly do you think this will accomplish?

I would like to do both the interviews in that time frame if they give me an invite to save the time and money since I live in MI.

Oh, you're out of state. Okay. I don't see how it would hurt to send an e-mail.

you know it might not be a bad idea to take a look around even if they dont give you an interview now. There are two main campuses (college station/bryan and temple) that you can choose to do your first two years at. You only see one of them during your interview day, and they offer a "second look" option at the other campus for people who have interviewed. Instead of eventually having to make another trip back here if you get an interview invite for temple but are curious about college station, you could see it now.

You shouldn't. That guy has posted on every Texas thread on here. Just a pre-med.
I like you therunner, you seem like a kind person. I wish you and all premeds well. Sorry you haven't heard anything yet asrik.

Good luck to everyone interviewing this year! I'm an M1 in Temple, so feel free to ask me any questions you've got!

Just got my interview invite this morning!!! I"m ecstatic!

To all the interviewees: How was it?......anything unexpected?

DoctorIn2015: How do you like the school so far? Was this your first choice?

Thanks!!

Congratulations to those of you with new interview invites. 🙂

I'm beginning to get a little concerned with regards to my own app. I'm IS, complete since early July and I've heard nothing yet. :xf:

Me too. I actually submitted everything in late May, but due to a processing error (their fault, they admitted) with my secondary fee I didn't get to "under review" until mid-to-late July.

Still, it's been well over a month-and-a-half now. In-state. At what point can you assume you've been tossed into the "probably not going to interview" stack? End of Sept? Middle Oct?

I guess there are still opportunities for them to come back to your app after reviewing it once when they need applicants to interview. There are plenty of stories of people that interview in October and November getting interviews and eventually acceptances.

Absolutely. However, you have to wonder if these people also submitted early.
